A winner for skin needing moisture & 100% mineral protection
Comments about SKIN RECOVERY Lotion SPF 30 - 2 oz:
I have spent years looking for a 100% mineral based SPF that doesn't dry my skin out at the same time. This one is finally a winner. (Non-mineral SPF causes stinging and cystic acne.) It feels so nice going on and is absorbed immediately. I don't feel a greasy layer afterwards or have to do extra rubbing to get rid of a white cast. Most 100% mineral SPFs dry my skin out, so I need to gob moisturizer on underneath. I don't actually use any other moisturizer other than this one on my face each morning now.A huge bonus on top of all of the above is it not containing a tint to rub off onto clothes, so I feel okay liberally applying it to my ears and whole neck/chest. One thing to note, but that isn't a downside, is the scent. There's a very subtle, but odd, smell to the lotion. HOWEVER, it goes away as soon as the lotion is applied and doesn't linger. I don't need or want my products to be altered to have a "pleasant" scent, so this is a plus for me as well.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Finicky and Drying
About Me Brand Buyer
I am 20 with very dry, acne prone skin. I've been using PC almost exclusively for about 4 years and I hate to give one of their products a bad review but this moisturizer was such a disappointment for me. I used the Moisture Boost SPF cream for years and it always made my skin look plumper and more hydrated with no white cast at all after I used it . Since it's been discontinued I decided to try the Skin Recovery one. This did almost the opposite of the Moisture Boost. The texture was pleasantly thick and creamy out of the tube, but almost immediately after rubbing it in (to which I noticed a pleasant cucumber smell, I should add), my skin started to drink it up uncomfortably fast, like I had just rubbed a dry touch sunscreen for the body into my face. While the consistency is creamy, the product itself is not very hydrating over time, if that makes sense. I am also of a medium-dark skin tone and it left a very unflattering white cast on my face, and over the course of the day my skin only felt dryer and dryer. I was so disappointed with this, and I beg you guys at PC to please bring back the Moisture Boost with SPF. I miss it terribly and will have to continue looking for something else to use during the day now!

Not good for sensitive skin
from Nashville, TN
I bought the Skin Recovery kit and was a little disappointed. I used the system daily and stuck to the recommended regimen. All the products were.. ok... except this one, the Daily Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30. I chose to purchase this collection because of the wonderful claims and reviews. One being that it is clinically proven non-irritating, but when I put this particular lotion on it burned and I immediately washed it off. The kit came with another face lotion called the Replenishing Moisturizer. That one is good and did not irritate my skin. My skin is very dry and at the time was in the process of healing. I had eczema on my face. When I had finally squeezed out the last bit of the good moisturizer (the Replenishing Moisturizer) I decided to once again try the Daily Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30. At this time my skin had healed up but was still very dry, so I used the Daily Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30 through out the day, applying generously whenever my face was feeling really dry. Sadly it still burned (like a stinging sensation) and was greasy and didn't rub into my skin well. But I did notice that some of the redness around my nose had faded so that was a plus. In conclusion, I would not recommend this particular product to those who have sensitive or dry skin. The other products in the Skin Recovery collection are worth a try though.

Skin has never been more dry.
About Me Budget Buyer
I switched to this product since it was recommended as a substitute for RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 since it's discontinued. Unfortunately, my skin has been extremely dry and visibly flakey since switching products.
Service and delivery are great as always.
Better than expected
from Talking Rock, GA
Since my regular daily moisturizer Resist Cellular Defense was discontinued, I tried this with some hesitancy. I thought there's no way I could like it as much, and I remember from trying a few samples that the formula seemed too thin and watery for my taste. Well, I am pleased to say that I've given it a chance, and I really like this stuff. I ordered a full tube and have been using it for about 3 weeks. Wow! I love the high 30spf broad spectrum protection, and I love the way this rubs in. It's not too thin or watery. It has a lovely light but substantial consistency that I find ideal for drier skin. I say give it a shot!
Delivery was prompt and smooth.
Worked great until it made my eyes itch
from Raleigh, NC
I purchased this moisturizer after I began using the skin recovery skin softening cleanser. This moisturizer worked great for the first two weeks and then my eyes started to itch every time I applied it. My skin looked great so I put up with for a few more weeks but it just got to the point my eyes were itchy all the time and they occasionally burned. It's a shame it caused this reaction because it really helped the redness associated with my rosacea. In the end, I started using the shea butter facial moisturizer from L'Occitane and my kids baby Aveeno Sunscreen for sun protection.

My husband politely despises this smell...
from Los Angeles, CA
My skin is dry, aging, and pretty ravaged by Cancer treatments (not Skin Cancer). One good thing I have done almost all my adult life is use a sunscreen. I don't leave home, ever, without it. So I try PC moisture products and I wanted a moisturizing, gentle spf cream. IMO, PC doesn't have a lot of very moisturizing products. I am glad there is no animal testing for PC products. Another of the reasons I bought this was that I am glad it has both Zinc Oxide and Titanium Oxide.HOWEVER.I had disliked the smell instantly, but sometimes smells go away, and I know I am sensitive to smells. It is important to me to never use products that have fragrance added. My Cancer Hospital and local patients' support Center have made an effort to ask people not to wear anything perfumed, including even putting up signs. Often though, people think strong hair products smells will fade; actually, they rarely fade enough. Perfume, bath products, powders, creams... I thought I could deal with this fine; it didn't have any fragrance added; it felt nice going on, although I had expected it to be thicker. I have mixed it a couple of times with a little thick sunscreen, which doesn't have a discernible smell. But even when I mixed it with another cream, or by itself, and wore it all day long, it smelled bad.My husband isn't someone who wants me to feel badly about some beauty product; so when he definitely *does not* like the smell of this PC spf product, and even still dislikes it towards theend of the day when it should have faded, believe me, I take notice.I now Graft vs. Host Disease, one problem is that my corneas have abrasions. If I perspire even a little bit, this product seems kind of to melt and it is very painful for my eyes. Even if I do not perspire, it hurts my eyes after wearing it a while.Paula's Choice, I believe, is capable of making a moisturizing Spf cream that doesn't smellbad and doesn't hurt my eyes. So, please do!

Ok but greasy
from Mountain View, CA
Does the job, but feels greasy and makes my skin a little shiny. It doesn't come close to "Moisture Boost Daily Restoring Complex with SPF 30" which was discontinued - PLEASE BRING THIS BACK!!
(2 of 3 customers found this review helpful)
I'm really shocked at how drying this was. It left my face looking shiny, but feeling tight and dry, even when I used the RESIST oil booster beforehand. It's really surprising because the CALM spf 30 for normal to dry skin works very well for me and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day. I figured this one would be even more hydrating since it says it's for dry to very dry skin. Strangely enough, it wasn't hydrating at all for me. It's actually unusable.

Keeps my skin moisturized and sun-safe throughout the day
I have been buying Paula's Choice for years- since Paula first began her line - and I am very loyal to all her products for one simple reason - well at least two :-) 1. Because they work! and 2. Paula and her clinical staff have done honest, trustworthy work on developing no-nonsense products that deliver what they say they will. No 'fake miracles', but good, beautiful, healthy skin and reliable products. I am almost 64 and people think I'm at least 10 years younger. Yes, good genes, but I have always taken care of my skin - and Paula's Choice is my only choice.
Excellent delivery service - both of the products from warehouse to my house, but also the delivery system and storage container of each product. Paula is the ONLY one out there who will honestly tell you that antioxidants and other ingredients lose their potency in a jar. And in the stores there are super expensive jars for sale.
