I like this for my sensitive skin
    • This is a very nice, light toner for my sensitive skin, mature, combination skin. I like that it doesn't sting or make my skin feel tight.

    Sadly Irritating
    • I purchased this toner for myself and my mother hoping that it would work well on our dry, sensitive skin. Sadly this toner hasn't met my other experiences with Paula's Choice products, as it leaves my skin stinging and very sensitive to the products I use after toning.

    Prefer this toner
    • I tried the earth source toner and found it to be too drying for me. I purchased this and I have been very very pleased. I haven't been a fan of toner before. I felt like it was too drying after washing my face. However, this toner seems to give my skin an extra boost of moisure. I am not as attached to it as I am the serums but I will continue buying it because it does seem to remove the last traces of my makeup.

Yes, it does sting a bit
    • Generally love Paula's Choice products, but this one I would not recommend. I'm not sure what ingredient it is, but there is some stinging that occurs when I use this product that doesn't happen with her other toners. It certainly works in terms of gently moisturizing, but I'd recommend selecting one of the other toners available here due to the mild irritation I've experienced.

    Good toner, but causes stinging
    • I have been using this toner for a few months after a recommendation and it is very hydrating and has helped my skin. I find though it causes some irritation and stinging around my jawline which tends to have sensitive skin, a problem I haven't had with other toners of Paula's.

    Good toner
    • I no longer use the rest of the MB line, as I switched to the RESIST line, which works better for my combination skin. However, I have stuck with this toner. It's great for those prone to dryness, and it's very gentle on skin.

    Excellent
    • I have been using this for years, and I can't imagine my skin without it. I have combination skin and used to have issues with flaky-yet-also-oily areas and Paula's toners fixed it. I use this one in the winter when my skin is extra dry.

    no burning and no breakouts
    • I just want to say that I have sensitive skin, and this toner did not sting or burn at all, like it did for some other reviewers. I love this toner. I have breakout prone skin, combination, sensitive, and dehydrated in the winter. My main concern is to always prevent breakouts. I use the BHA every morning. Started washing with Moisture Boost cleanser and just added this toner every night, and no breakouts at all and no dryness. Smooth skin, all makeup and cleanser gone after one cotton round.

    Great for my acne rosacea!!!
    • I have struggled with rosacea for a few years. I have been using Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Toner on some parts of my face that are red and scaly. I just recently discovered the ''Moisture Boost Toner '' and tried that on my chin where I suffer from acne rosacea. It cleared it up pretty nicely and I continue to use it morning and night to keep it under control. As soon as I apply it, I can feel it working. It's the only thing that works for me! Please don't ever discontinue it!

36 year old with combination skin
    • I LOVE P.C.! I have to use prescription Retin A to keep my acne controlled. I can't use lotions or creams to moisturize because they cause me to break out. This toner is so light, but very moisturizing. I start with PC Clear cleanser, and then I use this toner on my cheeks and forehead and PC pore reducing toner on my T zone. Then I use 2% BHA liquid exfoliator all over my face. Once a week I use the 10% BHA exfoliant. I have been using PC for about 2 years now, and I love this too!

Its like this stuff got into a fight with my skin like hey im going to create a cyst because im irritated then the moisture boost cream stuff and benzoyl peroxide were like nuh uh sista but in the end my cyst was stopped in its tracks. I dont like this

    Irritating
    • This product is really nice, but my skin is too sensitive for it. The first time I used it it burned all over my face and my skin turned bright red. The irritation lasted for several hours. Sometimes things irritate my skin the first time I use them, so I used it about 3 more times, and then decided that I would return this product. I am going to try the skin recovery toner instead, which is supposed to be good for rosacea prone skin.

Thanks for your review! Our best toners for rosacea-prone skin are RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner and Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner. Both contain a robust range of barrier repair ingredients.

    I like it!
    • I like this toner very much. It doesn't dry and the skin looks realy good after using it. I feel a little burning after applying it, but it is usualy if I apply near sensible areas (eyes), but passes after a few seconds. I would try the Skin recovery toner also, just to compare. This a very good toner.

    Stings my face
    • I normally order the Skin Recovery Toner but have felt that my skin "recovered" and was no longer so dry after using Paula's choice moisturizers for very dry skin, so I thought I'd give the Moisture Boost Toner a try. Mistake. This toner stings/burns my face! I'm back to using my beloved Skin Recovery Toner. And highly recommend it for normal to dry skin.

    Very nice toner
    • How this toner feels even lighter than water is beyond me. I have used only one other of Paula's Choice toners that was from the resist line. This toner for dry/extra dry skin is amazing. It's so light you wonder if it's really helping but it does. Smooth, gentle and effective. It does not make my skin dry after use but it has no residue and does not feel like a toner that would be for dry skin. Bravo. I love it.

Better than most toners but not compared to the rest of Paul's Choice
    • So, I have given this toner a good try. The bottle is down to 1/8. I love how it easily "lifts" my excess makeup, dirt, oil, cleanser better than my Clinique mild toner, AND with so little effort. But every single time using this Moisture Boost Toner, I feel like I have mild hot peppers sting lasting for minutes until I put on serum. I won't re-oder this one as long as Paula's Choice offers better toners still.

    It works!
    • I love all Paula's choice products are 100% fragrance free; I really don't find the need to make skincare products "smell good." I care about it's functionality but not it's scent. After all, the point should be "is it work"? (To me - it does. ^^)

    my favorite
    • I love Paula's Choice, and this is my HG toner. I find the skin recovery line with it's use of cyclopentasiloxane as a primary ingredient too heavy and moisturizing. This provides the ideal amount of moisture for someone with normal skin, while leaving skin feeling fresh and clean. I have not experienced the burning sensation that others have mentioned.

    good toner
    • I have normal skin and use this periodically in the mornings when I am in a hurry. It removes the dirt from the night before effectively without drying my face. There has been no " BURNING" however there is a little warming feel when used around my eyes. For moisturizing properties I prefer the Resist toner but this is also nice for a change. My mother loves this for her combination skin and says its the best toner she ever used. It just depends on your skin type and preference.

    Stings my skin
    • I've been testing out toners to find one that works best for my suddenly dry skin. The Resist and Skin Recovery toners both worked well but I thought I'd give this one a spin to make sure I'm using the best one for me. Big mistake-this made my skin burn! It only lasts for a few seconds but it's unpleasant and I don't have sensitive skin at all so I don't know what ingredient in the formulation is to blame. It doesn't seem to moisturize as well as the other two toners, either. YMMV!

    WONDERFUL TONER!
    • This is a wonderful toner, the next morning I can immediately see my skin is soothed and clear. The burning that many people are talking about is't exactly 'burning'. I would say it's more of a very subtle heated feeling that last a few seconds then subsides. Other than that is is a miraculous toner, I just love the ingredients in this!

    nice toner
    • this is a nice toner. while, personally, i used to like the tingly feeling and cool sensation of drugstore toners (much cheaper), after reading about the ingredients and their potential to harm the skin, i switched to this one. it feels like water on my skin, no irritation, smell, or tingle. i use this in conjunction with the body butter (love love love product) on my face and haven't had any dryness. i really love fresh citrus smells in my skin routine and i wish there was a way to incorporate.

What do toners “tone”? I thought Paula didn’t recommend toners!

Paula has always recommended toners that are well-formulated. Toners can be a great after-cleansing step to be sure you’ve removed all of your makeup. When properly formulated, they soothe skin and add hydrating ingredients to make skin softer, not to mention they’re another leave-on source for antioxidants and other ingredients that improve skin’s healthy functioning.

How do I know which toner is right for me? Besides skin type, what are the main differences between Paula's Choice toners?

All of our toners restore skin, help remove last traces of makeup, are alcohol- and fragrance-free, and contain no unnecessary irritants such as menthol, peppermint, and citrus oils. They are great as an adjunct to a more thorough cleansing routine, especially post-workout or in hot/humid climates. Even more significantly, they go beyond the basics by offering skin benefits you can see and feel.

Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner is a specialized formula designed to supply normal to dry aging skin with a broad range of ingredients it needs to produce healthy collagen while reducing wrinkles. Moisture Boost Essential Hydrating Toner contains ingredients that help soothe and restore normal to dry skin, plus it includes a greater amount of glycerin, a key ingredient to make dry skin look and feel better. It also contains a broad range of ingredients that aid the barrier repair process so those with dry skin (or normal skin with occasional dry patches) will receive even more benefit from their Paula’s Choice moisturizer and/or specialty product. Moisture Boost Essential Hydrating Toner feels lighter than our Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner, yet still provides an array of antioxidants, anti-irritants, and skin-protecting ingredients. To get the benefits of both toners for normal to dry skin, you can use Moisture Boost Essential Hydrating Toner in the morning and Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner in the evening.

It provides a weightless finish, and although it feels very light, it supplies skin with potent antioxidants and anti-irritants. Hydralight Healthy Skin Refreshing Toner is a great option for those who want more protection and a soothing, soft, feeling on their skin, particularly those with sensitive skin.
