Will use this for years...

Comments about RESIST Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol - 1.7 oz:
I started using this earlier this year and I believe it's the thing that has kept my skin clear and blemish free since then. I used to get cystic, hormonal acne around my chin every month, but I have to say, since using this product I haven't had any crazy breakouts and my skin looks better than ever. I love that it's rich, yet not greasy. It has no funky smell to it, and it absorbs fairly quickly. Makeup looks great over it as well. I use it right after I take a shower to lock moisture in, following my PC BHA exfoliant of course. Skin can get very dry if you wait too long to moisturize after you shower! I make sure to follow with SPF during the day. I also use it at night before bed. I only use 2 pumps, twice a day, and I seem to go through a lot of the bottle in such a short amount of time. I find myself running out after only a couple of months. Perhaps i'm using too much and too often, but I simply can't get enough of this stuff. It's so velvety and makes my skin feel so hydrated. I will be using this stuff for years hopefully!

Fine, not super potent
from Omaha, NE
I have been using this every night as the last part of my routine for a month and a half. I was hoping this would help with clogged pores and tiny lines around my eyes, since I'm a younger customer. This might be a great product for aging skin concerns, but it wasn't potent enough for me to see any results. My plan is to use the rest of the bottle since it is a nice moisturizer, and then get a sample size of the PC clinical strength retinol to see if it's the ingredient that is ineffective for me.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Wonderful for me
from HCM city, Vietnam
Wonderful moisturizer. It makes my skin strong and healthy. My skin can be oily in the T zone but quite dry/irritated elsewhere, but this one still works out quite well. Does not irritate skin whatsoever. Very moisturizing. I love it, thanks PC team for this product :DD

This is the best night time moisturizer I have ever used and I've tried a lot. I started Paula's Choice by using 2% BHA liquid which I thought was making my skin look really good. So, I ordered the Moisture Barrier Repair and started using nightly and I was blown away. My skin looks so much better and makeup goes on next day so much nicer. It does have a low dose retinol which I think is key along with all the great ingredients. I had roughness and small bumps on some of my face and this seems to really help with that even more than the BHA. I am amazed and very happy! Will continue to buy as long as she sells it.

I've ordered samples of this product several times over the years hoping to get different results, but unfortuantely, this is not for me. I don't know what ingredient in here my skin disagrees with, but it results in lots of cystic acne and irritated skin the next day. I wanted to love it based on the description because it sounds like something that would greatly benefit me (30's, acne prone, uneven skin tone). I tried it more than once to elimintate the possibility that adverse skin results the first time weren't due to another random variable, like hormones or weather. But each time I broke out in major cystic acne (of the bigger nodular variety that I don't normally get). That and a burning feel with flaky skin. It's not the retinol, I've used much other retinol products before without this happening. I really wish I knew which ingredient was causing this so I can avoid it in the future. This is really the only Paula's Choice product that I've had such an adverse reaction to though.

I have to say that this moisturizer is the ICING on the top to my skin care routine. The other paula's choice products I've been using have made the texture of my skin change dramatically but this just over did it!! My skin is like a baby's bottom when I use this. I mostly use it as a night cream and I wake up glowing. The only down side is that it does leave your face a bit shiny but thats why I only use it at nightLOVE LOVE!!

Although my skin is more on the oily side, I like to use this moisturizer every so often and on days that I am more dry. It is such a nice moisturizer for smoothing fine lines and evening out my skin. And since I have previously used prescription tretinoin (a retinoid) with good results, I wanted to keep using a product with some retinol in it. So this is a great sort of 2-in-1 product!

I have now been using the Resist line for five years. When I turned 50, I was seeing some not-so-lovely changes in my skin: redness, wrinkles, and weird texture. I had always had sensitive skin. I jumped right in, buying cleanser, toner, daily exfoliant (weekly one usually twice a week), serum in the dark blue tube, and this moisturizer (sunscreen in the day, and now usually skip this moisturizer). My skin was almost instantly better. Over time, it's become quite good for my age and the abuse I gave it when I was younger. This is the one thing I could not do without ever. It is such an elegant cream. My face feels instantly refreshed and soothed, and even though the cream soaks right in, I can always tell that it's there. My skin is so much better with it!I get lazy from time to time and use something else on my face and within days can tell the difference. My skin becomes dull and kind of drab looking. So there you have it. I love all of the products I've got, but this is hands-down my favorite.

Great product, but there are better values available

I used a whole bottle of this moisturizer and loved every moment of it! I highly recommend it for dry skin as a nighttime moisturizer. It is nourishing without being greasy or thick, and absorbs very quickly. It layers beautifully over all the exfoliants I've used (I've only tried Paula's Choices ones) and also over or under serums.Because of the high price tag, I currently use a dermatologist-recommended drugstore alternative that has anti-aging ingredients such as niacinamide and sodium hyaluronate as well. I find it works just as well. If money is no object, this is a lovely nighttime moisturizer to try! If you're pinching pennies, this is one you can easily substitute with the drugstore one.
