The texture of this product is very hard to work with and nothing like the super light formula. It tends to get all over the place and if you are not extremely careful it will easily squirt all over and make a mess. The texture is not easy to apply , so I ended up just using it on my upper and lower lids and for that it seems to work nicely.

This is a truly great serum. It's light-weight and perfect for me. I have oily skin and this is perfect. It's also Colour & Fragrance Free. I wish it came in larger tubes!

I had high hopes for this serum but it has been a disappointment in comparison to RESIST Super Antioxidant conc. serum, which i have been using since it came out, so about 2 years or so. Skin around my eyes feels thinner and finer and blackheads, which disappeared when I started using RESIST is back with a vengeance. I have given this serum 2 stars simply for the fact that my forehead, which is extremely oily, has been noticeably less so but the cons definitely outweigh the pros in this case.

This is such an exceptional serum for combo oily skin. This is one of my can't live without PC products, I don't know what I would do if they stopped making it. Some people complain about the unique texture, but I find it to be one of the products best features. It has a nice light and airy feel when applied and feels almost like a powder when it dries. It leave a very matte finish (something I never thought I would get from any serum) and is not at all sticky. Thanks Paula!

This soothes my oily skin when irritated, provides a primer and perfect canvas for foundation, concealer and powder. Lightens dark marks and feels like heaven on my skin! I love it, my fav PC product.

I really wanted to like this but I just can't. The texture threw me off at first, especially because I use the Skin Recovery serum in my professional work and it has a completely different texture. After getting over it, and remembering to shake the container regularly, I noticed about midway through the tube the color of the product had changed. I also started breaking out more than usual, which calmed down after I discontinued use. Generally, I really like PC products but this was a letdown.

I stopped wasting my money on makeup primers and use this instead. I am getting way more for my money. I used to have real problems with cystic acne, which is when I originally bought this product. Now my skin is clear and all my marks have faded (thanks to Paula's Choice!) so I may switch to something better suited for dry skin but in the mean time I am really loving this serum. I don't mind that I have to shake the tube and it really does last a long time.

I'm not really sure what results I'm supposed to get from this product. Quite honestly all PC products claims to do about the same thing. My skin has been looking smoother and my pores seem smaller. So far this product has not caused me any irritations and I like the silky smooth and matte feel it leaves behind. Therefore, so far so good and I just ordered my 3rd tube.

Unfortunately, what I learned is that I believe I must be allergic or intolerant of retinol! I didn't mind the texture as some others seem to, but after a few weeks of use I sprouted small bumps around my eye / cheekbone area. The bumps went away after I stopped use. I hate to give a low-star review since I know it's not the fault of the product, but hopefully others will take notice if they are sensitive to this ingredient. I am looking to try the Ultra-Light RESIST serum instead. We'll see!

I really like the serum at first and was excited when the new packaging came out. However, after finishing my last tube just recently, I noticed that it has a problem with texture consistency. At first, the gel-like texture is great and nice on your skin, but then after awhile of using it the serum would suddenly turn really dry and crumbly. I cut open the tube and found that most of it were still stuck inside, all dried up and crumbly, and I feel that it is quite wasteful. Sadly disappointed...

This is a great product! My skin looks great! This stuff reduces the look of my large pores, and makes my makeup blend in and stay on all day without shine. This serum also makes the fine lines around my eyes disappear. This stuff gives my skin a smooth finish, and makes my skin look bright and refreshed. I have had no problem with getting the serum out of the tube but I do give the tube a shake before using. I recommend this serum and I will definitely buy it again and again.

I have used this serum for some time as part of my Paula's Choice routine. It makes my skin feel so smooth, especially around my eyes. I have "mature" skin, so anything that makes my skin look better is a plus. I have sensitive, fair skin and have never had any reaction form any of the PC products.The reason that my rating is 4 stars is due to the fact that the gel seems to change in look and feel over time - smooth and liquid at the beginning and lumpy after a month or so. Is this normal?

I was a little worried about using this because I have super-sensitive skin and mild rosacea, and couldn't tolerate Retin-A Micro. But I've been using it two or three times a week with no problem. In addition to the rosacea, I have just about every other annoying skin problem you can imagine - huge pores, occasional breakouts, and flaky skin. I use the 2% BHA gel twice a day, and while it's great, I noticed a significant difference when I added this product to my routine. Highly recommended!

I have very oily skin. Most of all serums made my skin even more greasy - not absorbed well, but just floating on my skin. But, this worked! My skin in fact less greasy for all day long -even though the serum is oil-based-, and my dark spots seem getting lighter. At the same time the skin feels less dry and more healthy. I often forget to use moisturizer after using the serum! - And it is perfectly fine without further extra steps. I highly recommend this product

This serum has the most amazing slip! I use it as a primer under my long wearing makeup. Without it, I find it difficult to really blend my foundation out to look more natural. My 50 yr old skin is still oily and still breaks out. Similar to others' experiences, my forehead tends to break out with it so i avoid that area. I'm not a fan of moisturizers, but I do like using this serum under makeup.

Love the feel of this on my skin and reach for it everyday, whether wearing makeup or not. It helps control the shine in my T-zone, even in humid, South Florida weather. It never looks gummy on my skin the way some silica products do and it helps mask my enlarged pores, when nothing else does the trick.

I love this serum. At first I tried the Resist Antioxidant serum and it was a little too moisturizing for me. This has a velvet finish that works perfectly with my skin. Thanks Paula!

I used this after finding that the (original) Resist serum was too greasy-feeling. The texture of this one really put me off though. It didn't feel nice, and despite how well I shook container the texture was inconsistent. Sometimes it was too liquid, sometimes it was too dry. More than once squeezed some onto my hand only for it to simply drop right off onto the counter (if my hand was at all on an angle). I'm using the new Resist Ultra-Light serum now, and like it *much* better. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your comments. I am 36 with oily skin -- somewhat oily cheeks and oily T-Zone. The texture of this product feels a bit greasy at first so it seems strange to use it on oily skin. But it doesn't break me out or increase my blackheads. It makes for a great primer. I can tell a real difference when I put my moisturizer or foundation on without having used this serum first. That being said, I'm not sure that the antioxidants are necessarily doing anything. I haven't noticed a huge change in my skin tone from having used any of the PC products other than my acne staying at bay. I'll just trust this is doing something that I may not be able to see right now. DEFINITELY SHAKE THE TUBE BEFORE FIRST USE, and knead it some more and shake it some more and knead it some more, then shake it everyday before you use it. Otherwise you will end up with a colorless gel as you get to the end of the product. Customer Care said this is normal and good stuff is still in the gel.

Seeing the words "shake well" in the directions was a bad omen. At this price point it should be properly emulsified so you don't have to shake anything. Sometimes a thick gel is dispensed, sometimes a runny mess. Worst of all...for the first time in my life I started getting blackheads UNDER MY EYES. How awful and weird. The only change in my skincare routine was this retinol serum. Hopefully those blackheads will go away once I stop using this serum. I love the other serum in the blue and silver bottle...tried this retinol serum just to round out my order for free shipping...big mistake, huge. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. What you have described is "normal". The truth is that this formulation is tricky because we chose not to use alcohol (which is harmful to skin) to suspend the antioxidants. Because of that, there will be some separation that can occur which requires shaking or kneading the tube before each use. The ingredients are still just as effective when the product goes on thicker and thinner and more fluid. This serum is very light-weight so it should not be contributing to blackheads or clogged pores but if you feel this has caused it, it would be best to discontinue use and consider trying our RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum which is even lighter. This is amazing stuff. Doesn't irritate my rosacea nor cause breakouts, smooths my skin and preps for makeup. I have just about any skin complication you could expect (sensitive, rosacea, acne, aging) and this does the trick beautifully.

I have been using many of PC products for over 10 years now and my favorite is her Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Serum. My pores look smaller and my skin is smoother. I also have less oil and am not as shiny. I used to get very oily 1-2 hours after using other products and I have tried so many over the years. If you have oily skin and large pores don't hesitate to try this. I just ordered 2 more.

This was a difficult product for me. It took me a long time to get accustomed to the texture, since it glides right onto skin and disappears. And that it is what it is supposed to do..but, again, I really didn't feel any difference, after been using it for more than 7 months, continuously, along with all other PC's products. I wish there was something more potent, I just can't tell the difference...sorry! It feels like a placebo...

I been use this for awhile, it didn't do anything for me. To me, it's more like makeup primer than anything else. I didn't really see any improvement on my skin at all, and for some reasons, the serum didn't mix well even after I shake it before I use. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. I actually adore this stuff, despite myself. My initial impressions were NOT GOOD. I found it runny/chunky and thought it balled up unattractively. Well, I solved the first problem by reading the directions and shaking the tube before use. What a difference. I mix this with the Pure Radiance brightening treatment in my palm before applying to my face - that solved the balling-up issue. After a month, my skin is CRAZY pretty. The pores on my nose are smaller - that NEVER happens! The skin all over my face is just glow-y and more refined looking. And so smooth! I have also not had a single pimple. Not even a whitehead. This stuff is great. I am so glad I gave up drinking the philosophy kool-aid and gave Paula's Choice a try.
