Nice but too emollient
About Me Beauty Conscious
Comments about SKIN RECOVERY Moisturizer - 2 oz:
The texture and feel of this moisturizer are great and I thought with winter I'd try a different moisturizer in the PC line. The issue for me is that it doesn't absorb all the way- I've tried lightly patting it or lightly rubbing in. It did not irritate my skin which is a plus. My skin is on the more normal end of dry even in the winter so perhaps that's it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

did not work well for me
from Atlanta, GA
This cream was not irritating to my dry sensitive skin, but was not moisturizing enough. My skin was still dry. I had to use a more heavy product in combination.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My skin has been dry and flakey, so I thought I would try this out. Unfortunately it broke me out! I used it for about a month. I started noticing that I slowly started getting more and more small bumps all over my cheeks. I stopped using this product to make sure it was the culprit- and it was! Now the small bumps have turned into large and painful pimples. I think it's going to take at least a month for my acne to go away. I wish I never bought and tried this! However, my skin has been very sensitive and acne-prone lately. It was still very moisturizing, so I would recommend this to the truly dry and non-acne prone people.

Does not sting
By TJ Wasalewis
After living on the east coast all my life with high humidity and oily, acne-prone skin, I move to the dry, arid prairie of Colorado and now I have dry, tight skin. Used Cerave at night on recommendation of dermatologist, but it stung me. This feels great and does not sting. Does not cause acne for me but I don't know if the dryness here has helped cure that or if I FINALLY outgrew it.

Awkward effects...results not expected
I bought the full size and use it both in the morning and at night after my facial cleanser for sensitive skin (another brand that received 5 stars on beautypedia) the resist weightless toner, and as well the 2% BHA liquid. My skin is oily on the forehead and chin while having dry patches on the cheeks and the sides of the nose. I am also very prone to breakouts and have uncontrollable hormonal acne. It is my first time trying Paula's Choice brand. I only used it for two nights and waking up with a moisturized, but not oily face. However, when I used it during the day, my forehead becomes really shiny that I have to blotch and I can see the oil on the blotting sheet; while my face feels tight but not very dry, but to me it was uncomfortable, and this was applied 3 hours ago and all I did was walking around in the house--didn't even go outside during those hours. We have very chilly weather in the low to high 20s here in Iowa and I needed something very moisturized that will also feel heavy or greasy causing me to breakout. When I first applied this Recovery Replenishing moisturizer to my face, it looks greasy and shiny, but give it a little time it will absorb, but I guess too much absorbtion causing my cheeks and the side of my mouth feels tight and shiny, but not greasy anymore, I have to reapplied every 3 hours to have that moisturized feeling again. Maybe it is too early to tell how the products work for me? But so far I am disappointed, and sad to see it go a waste in the trash. I am willing to pay for something that actually works for me, brand doesn't matter and I have tried countless facial products out there, but none seems to like my skin. As for now, the search continues with the thought of perhaps of trying another moisturizer from Paula's line?

not for me
from MOUNT PROSPECT, Illinois
Unfortunately, it did not work for me. I have been trying it out for almost 3 months now, but in vain. It honestly did nothing for moisturizing my skin. It did not broke me out though - which is a great plus, i must say!

I love Paula

Will absolutleyyyy be buying this product again! I'm not one to be writing reviews about a product, but I do have to give credit where it's needed and in this case- definitely needed. I'm in LOVE!! I used to wake up with such dry skin even though I moisturized a ton the night before and felt that as the day went on all of that moisturizer started making my skin so oily to the point I had to blot my face hourly it's pathetic I know. That's probably when realized I should switch things up. I'm a huge Paula's choice fan absolutely love love love their products (if you've never tried a product by paula.. Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself) becasue of the gentleness, I have not once had a breakout which is major becasue that's always my fear when trying something new! It left my skin so soft and radiant looking I had such a natural glow all my friends were commenting and I've gotten them using Paula's choice now too!! HahaThis moisturizer really does help with rosacea and just keeping skin soo hydrated without the super shiny skin in the morning. I use this at night and then splash cold water on my face in the morning to just wash away any excess oils left behind if there were any. Such an amazing product leaving my face so soft and clear I feel as though I don't need to wear any foundation or any heavy makeup!

So I tried the tester and this product was just what I needed, but after I ordered it and used it for a few days I noticed that my skin was reacting really bad to it!At first I thought it was something that I ate and I didn't think it was the product but I stopped using it for a few days, and my skin was okay. But I started again today and I noticed irritation in some areas, a few red blotches, and even some bumpy rashes under my eyebrows!! I don't know why this is happening but I'm upset this didn't work for me!

Best Moisturizer I've Used!
from Ann Arbor, MI
About Me Beauty Expert
I LOVE this product. I had dry skin that would just peel and flake and fall apart, but this lotion is a life saver. The only issue I have with it is that it makes me very shiny and makes me glisten in light, giving an oily appearance, but I have yet to try the SPF version. Great product!!

First off, I have to say, this is the moisturizer I currently use, but I have to qualify that it's because I can't find one better on the PC line for daily use. It's really popular, but honestly I don't get it. It's not horrible by any means, and I like it ok, but I have mixed feelings about it, specifically about its texture. I don't find that it goes on very smoothly--in the sense that a lotion would, and maybe this isn't important--and I also don't feel like it absorbs well into my skin. My work environment is quite dry, but I feel like I've used lotions (as opposed to creams or "moisturizers" in PC terms) that have maintained my skin's moisture levels the same if not better than this product. Silicons seem to work for me, specifically. The only reasons I'm sticking with Skin Recovery Moisturizer are a.) because I'm afraid to venture off into uncharted territory, where I know little about the ingredients and their long term effects; and b.) I need something comparable ingredient-wise within a certain price range. To sum up, not bad, but nothing to write home about. Still searching ...
