I was quite pleasantly surprised with this brush set. They're a little over priced in my opinion - especially for a mini set, but they're really good quality (and sooo soft!). The people that give bad reviews due to "shedding" (and potential buyers) need to keep in mind that the shedding of a brush generally has more to do with the user than the the product. If you're too rough, or don't clean them properly, it's bound to happen. Also, a bit of shedding is to be expected to a certain extent.

The quality of these seems to be way below that of the full sized brushes (which are fantastic!). They shed like crazy, leaving black hairs stuck to my face and all over the counter. I just received this set in the mail the other day. This brush set seemed like it was exactly what I needed for travel makeup brushes. But, on closer inspection, the small brushes' bristles are totally bent. A flaw that occured I'm sure sometime during the shipping process. So, I tried gently washing them and yet still they look the same and are unusable this way. The powder and blush brush looked fine besides being smaller than I thought (the brush heads). But, once I used them, they were shedding quite a bit. I don't know if either of these issues will improve with time or not. I love the compact size of this pack and all the brushes you need are included. My problem is with the two biggest brushes - for powder and blusher. They both shed horribly, leaving black hairs all over my face. I've had this set for a while now and I hoped it would get better, but it hasn't improved. Having to check your face for big black hairs before going out is a step I could do without! Given the excellent quality of all the other Paula's Choice products that I use, this is disappointing. Keep these by my mom's for when I visit. All my makeup basics are covered, and I've had the set longer than I can remember. In fact, I think I may have ordered them when they were Paula's Select. That's how long I've had them!Great set and would recommend to anyone!

This brush set is so awesome. They are just the right size. They store easily and travel very well also. So far I have had so shedding. These brushes are very soft and if your like me and have rosecea you need soft brushes. You want be disappointed.

I just got these brushes and love them, even though the handles are small the brush size is perfect. I am taking them to Europe, they are small enough to carry in your purse or pack in the suitcase. The brushes have very soft bristles, but put the make-up where you want it.

I too can not say enough about this brush set. I use them every day and take them on all my trips because they pack so easily. Flaking is a minimum - even after 3 years and almost 20 washings (I'm obsessive). I highly recommend these

I have used these brushes every day for the past 8+ years. The brushes, handles and case are still in perfect condition. They are the perfect size for home or travel. Everything can be hand washed even the case and does not fall apart.

I've been using these brushes for 3 years and love them. Six brushes with case are nicely compact for travel. Added Sephora's retractable lipbrush, browcomb, and tweezers to the collection which all fit well and keep my suitcase tidy.

I've owned this brush set since it was first offered- quite a few years ago. It is an excellent product and has held up well. I've taken it on my travels for up to two months at a times. It's compact, light weight and the brushes are of excellent quality.

I've had these brushes for...7+ years! They are still in great shape after daily use and they wash clean very well with my Hydralight One Step Face Cleaner! You'll love them!

I really love this cute set of brushes! They are great for travel. I have had no problems with bristles falling out.

I love these mini brushes. I had very, very minimal shedding (about 5 hairs so far) from the blush brush, but most brushes shed a little from time to time. These are SO soft! I don't need to add to my eyebrows in any way, but I discovered the brow brush works really well to lightly conceal under the eye. I use a very tiny amount of mineral powder to lighten under the eye just a touch. The brow brush is the perfect shape for that.I'm still getting used to the eyeliner brush (which has a nice, fine point). I've taken Paula's tip to use a good eye shadow for lining the eye. My last brush was a bit more stiff than this one, so the new one requires some practice since it's so much softer.I don't wear much makeup at all and I don't like to look like I'm wearing anything and these super soft brushes make that really easy for me since they deposit powders and such very minimally, which would allow for a gradual build of color if that's your preference.I have a very good set of Bare Escentuals brushes and the handles and metal clamps on this mini set look identical - different hair though - same manufacturer?

I have been using this mini brush set for a couple of years now. Not only is the set great for travel, it's also perfectly convenient for everyday at-home use. The width and size of the brush heads are just fine. I actually like that the handles are shorter--I've found that it makes the brushes easier to work with (especially the eyeshadow brushes; you can get closer to the mirror without the handles bumping into it).

I'm a huge fan of Paula Begoun & tout her skin care products at every chance. However, the mini makeup brushes are a huge disappointment. They flake with every use & you end up having to pick several tiny brush bristles off of your face after every use - very annoying, especially because they stick to your makeup! I have two sets of these brushes -- one for home and one for travel. They are great -- especially the first set that has the eyebrow brush.

The brushes in this pack are of good quality. I really liked the liner brush. Most of the eyeshadow brushes were a little bit too stiff for my liking (although I think that's just a personal preference). The larger blush brush is really nice as well.

I've owned this set of brushes for 4 years and it's the only set of brushes I use. It's great for travel as well as home because the handles are mini, not the brushes themselves. I love these!

I have small hands and also like to be close to the mirror, so only use mini brushes like these. I put these in my travel case (I travel all the time) and those are the times when I usually need my makeup to be at its best. I actually like them better than my MAC mini brushes, which are my 'at home' brushes (I'd only rate those three stars). I echo the excellence of the liner and eye shadow brushes. I also happen to really like the blush brush. Would be nice if powder blush were bigger/fluffier but wouldn't travel as well. I would also have liked a lip brush included, rather than having to add one by separate purchase. The case is good, but has developed a wrinkle that puts a bit of a dent in the brush hairs over time. A quick rinse and air dry over night fixes that. If you are looking for a set of small brushes, you really can't go wrong with these.

For the quality of these brushes, the price is fantastic. I bought the travel kit because I could get most of the brushes I wanted for a great price. Also, I'm in medical school, so I don't have a ton of money or space. This way, I get great brushes for application at home or on the go! I agree with the other nearsighted reviewer who said these are nice for getting close to the mirror! I wear glasses, so I'm still a little bleary-eyed when I put my makeup on in the morning. These brushes are great!

Very handy set of brushes in a well-designed case. I especially like the eye shadow and liner brushes as they precisely apply product (surprisingly well for their small size!). The blush and powder brushes are just Ok for me, because I prefer a larger kabuki-style for face powder and a more rounded, fuller and tighter-packed blush brush... and the ones is this kit will do in a pinch/for touch-ups as they're much smaller to carry than full-sized brushes. The well-designed carry case holds all the brushes and I recommend this item for anyone wanting a very small-sized, convenient, set of great eye and OK blush/face brushes. The brushes themselves are well-made and soft; and the case is sturdy, light, and can be wiped clean if needed. The velcro closure keeps all the brushes in place, a nice bonus.I've added this set to my smallest travel make-up kit, and they'd also fit well in a purse-sized cosmetic bag for ladies who do touch-ups during the day. This set is great for anyone who is nearsighted and is tired of poking themselves in the eyes with brushes that have full sized handles. You can get up close to the mirror and accurately put on your makeup, especially in the eye area.
