    Not satisfied
    • I really like the PC mini brush set, and the powder brush from that set is still going strong. I'm using that as my portable brush instead, in fact - because this retractable brush is just not of the same quality. The bristles started to shed almost at once. And the metal inside piece on the lid makes it rather annoying and tough to use the lid. I've used PC products for many years, and been very happy...except with this one.

Defective but customer service came through
    • This is the only Paula's product I haven't been completely satisfied with. The first time I tried using it, it began to shed, and I couldn't close it because the metal piece inside was bent (not allowing enough room for the brush to fit back inside). I contacted customer service and they immediately gave me a full refund and told me not to bother returning the product. This product didn't measure up, but the customer service certainly did.

    Disappointing
    • I purchased this brush a few months ago because I love my Paula's Choice Mini Brush Set. Much to my dismay, this brush is awful. The bristles started falling out the 1 st time I used it! How disappointing! So off it went into the bad products box. I just found it again today while cleaning out a box of other beauty mishaps. This is a shame because I have been very happy with all of the other Paula's Choice products over the years. Please remake this brush because it's nice to have a "travel" brush. Customer Care Response: We're sorry you were not happy with this brush; you are welcome to check out Paula's suggestions at Beautypedia to see if you find a brush that works better for you. Please contact customer care so that we may offer you an in house credit for the product.

    Not the Best
    • I bought this brush to replace an old retractable I have been usingthat came with some loose powder I purchased long ago. When the brush arrived and I took the top off and saw how flimsy it seemed I was a bit disappointed. Then the top wouldn't go back on which was odd as no force was used in either way. I have tried out the brush to put on powder in the morning and it leaves little bits of brush on my face. I am a big fan of Paula's excellent products so this is really a surprise and a fluke, I am sure. Customer Care Response: We're sorry you were not happy with this brush; you are welcome to check out Paula's suggestions at Beautypedia to see if you find a brush that works better for you. In the meantime we will leave an in house credit for the product on your account which may be used on a future phone order and track your comments with our Quality Control Manager. Not PC's Usual Quality
    • First, I like that this brush is retractable. That's a nice touch for a portable powder brush so that the bristles don't get destroyed by the cap. Also, the bristles are soft, so they apply a decent amount of product. That's about where my likes for this brush stop. I was hoping for a powder-sized brush, meaning a head big enough to apply powder easily. This is much more suited for blush, or small touch-ups. I was also hoping for higher quality bristles, not ones that start falling out after only a few uses. I could have picked up a similar quality brush from the drugstore for a lot less. The main attraction for this is the retractable feature. I'm likely to return, though I continue to love PC products! Great Versatile Brush!
    • There is nothing like this on the market! I have been looking for a good retractable powder/blush brush for years. This one is awesome for touching up powder with SPF throughout the day (I always have it in my bag!) and for traveling. It fits in all cosmetic cases and since it is retractable it doesn't get damaged and doesn't make a mess. Can be used for powder and blush.

    Low quality
    • I never thought I'd be giving a Paula's Choice product a poor review. Coonsidering her high standard for quality, I'm shocked at the fact that this brush was released as part of her line. It sheds like crazy, and is very cheaply made. Every time I use it, I have to pick tiny bristles off my face. I realize that more expensive, doesn't mean better, but a low price isn't worth it if quality is being sacrificecd. Thankfully, not all of her brushes are bad; I really like the powder brush, the liner brush, and several others. If I were Paula, I'd consider rethinking this product, however. CCustomer Care Response: We are sorry to hear you are not happy with this product. We will share this information with Paula and her team. We recommend visiting the Best Product section at: www.beautypedia.com for alternatives that may meet your needs. In the meantime we have applied an in house credit for the purchase price on your account. Please contact customer care with any questions, we are happy to help.

    Works well for blush also
    • I know this is marketed as a powder brush, but I use it for blush and it is terrific. No clowny streaks and it isn't scratchy. I gave it a four, because the retractable mechanism is a bit awkward.

    Excellent for touch-up !!!!!
    • This brush is soft and easy to keep in my bag. It creates natural appearance whenever I add some powder on my face during the day. Also, it's inexpensive! One of the best Paula's Choice products!

    • I hate to say this, but this brush is of very poor quality, and totally not worth even the sale price. You should rework this product, and find an new manufacturer.

Not up to Paula's usual standards
    • Metal case is thin and weak, brush is losing bristles quickly with normal use. I have other brushes by Paula which are fine, but this one doesn't seem to match in quality.Customer Care Response: We are sorry to hear about your experience with this brush. • A great brush, but a bit bulky for a retractible brush...Please make it a bit more compact.

    great brush
    • I have owned this brush for over 3 years and it still functions as well today as when I first received it. The bristles are pleasingly firm so it picks up a nice amount of product.

Page of 1
DIRECTIONS: Gently place the tip of the brush onto the powder, picking up a small amount and knocking off any excess (if necessary). Apply powder where desired using short, downward strokes. For the smoothest finish, avoid applying powder in a brisk back-and-forth or up-and-down motion.

How many brushes do I need?

Your choice of brushes is determined by how you apply your makeup. An elaborate, nuanced makeup application would typically involve a variety of brushes. Conversely, a minimal and/or basic makeup application requires fewer brushes. The general rule to follow is that the size of the brush should match (or correspond with) the size of the area you are working on. It is best to avoid using the same brush for applying both lighter and darker colors.

When should I replace my brushes?

Replace them if they become misshapen, frayed, or start shedding excessively, or if the brush handle becomes loose or splintered.

How can the brushes be high quality yet reasonably priced?

The fact is even the best, most luxurious makeup brushes are not costly to make. Our brushes are customized for us from a major supplier and we buy in bulk, which keeps the cost to you down.

What are Paula's Choice brushes made of?

The handles are wood and our brushes feature natural hair, except for the Concealer Brush, Blush Brush, Powder Brush, and Precision Liner Brush, which are made of synthetic hair.
