Very nice, but..

About Me Natural Style
Comments about BEST FACE FORWARD SPF 25 - Best Bisque - 1 oz:
Well formulated, easy to apply with finger tips. (Sponge application would make it too shear) This foundation is similar to L'Oreal true match super blendable makeup, in feel and texture, but better! L'Oreal is too matte and chalky. Best Face is perfect. However with only four shades..Bisque being the darkest available (still a fairly light shade) it leaves medium skin tones out. Don't know why this can't be made in a shade or two darker. I know this has been mentioned before, but still no darker shades? For light skin tones, that want a beautiful Velvet Finnish...this is it!
Service and delivery comments:
This foundation is similar to L'Oreals true match super blendable make up, in feel and texture, only better! It applies easily with finger tips. (Sponge application would make it too shear)L'Oreal can be too matte and chalky, where as Best Face has a perfect Velvet finish! The only problem is that of the four shades, (Bisque being the darkest) medium skin tones won't find anything dark enough. Don't change a thing about this foundation, just add a couple of darker shades!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

It was a tough choice between the Best Face and Resist foundations. Both Fair-to-Light tones were a perfect neutral color match for me, which made me do a happy dance after a lot of Simpsons-esque pairings from the Pantone Color IQ system. Went with Best Face because the finish looked more natural, it has SPF, and I prefer tube containers over pumps because I like getting every last drop of product out without having to use a mini-scooper. It definitely is light-medium for coverage, which I like since I use foundation mostly just to cover redness, uneven skin tone and a little under eye darkness, without looking like I'm wearing a mask. Also oddly enough, I feel like this avoids emphasizing lines better than the Resist foundation. Wears ok without a primer, but definitely wears much better with one. For a color match this perfect, that doesn't cause breakouts, at half the price of most department store foundations, I wish I would have tried this sooner!

Love it for my oily skin
from New Orleans, la
I love this product. Applied with a Beauty Blender (correctly, meaning the Beauty Blender is slightly damp), it gives me a perfect finish for my oily skin. The shade range does skew light, so it's not suitable for every skin color.

Not for combination skin
from Katy, Texas
About Me Classic Style
I have combination skin with some hyper pigmentation from previous blemishes and pores that I would love to be smaller. But for the most part, my skin looks pretty good, thanks to the PC skin care line. This foundation is unfortunately the worst PC product I have ever used. I applied it over the Ultra-light antioxidant serum and the ultra light resist SPF and it was very tacky and streaky. It settled into my pores making them appear larger which was odd because it had very little coverage and didn't come close to covering areas of hyper-pigmentation. And while my forehead can get a little shiny towards the end of the day, this foundation made my entire face so incredibly oily. It was so bad, I left work at lunch, ran home, washed my face and started all over with my regular foundation.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My favourite Paula's foundation
from Calgary, AB
I've used Paula's Choice for years, and used to be a big fan of the Barely There foundation, but I'm in a more senior role at work that calls for a more polished look, and I'm also finding that the sheer, dewey look is no longer right for my late-30s skin, so I tried samples of all of the All Bases Covered, Best Face Forward, and RESIST. Of them all, I liked this one the best. Though it's advertised as having lighter coverage than All Bases Covered, I found them quite comparable; perhaps this one is a little lighter in coverage. It's definitely lighter than the RESIST, but I don't like looking overly made up, so it works for me, with Paula's pressed powder to finish it. Colour-wise, it's definitely on the lighter side. I consider my skin tone fair to medium, and I'm using the darkest shade of this foundation.

best in combination
from San Antonio, Texas
I'm half Asian half Irish American so my skin tone is more olive and medium. I also have dry skin which means this is an odd pairing. I picked this for the texture and coverage. I use other products for moisture and treat my dry patches with a targeted treatment which allows for the application of this foundation. So why five stars. This is the best everyday foundation that still allows my natural skin imperfections to still show but cover enough to even out tone. I don't want to cover my tone so much that I loose what I look like without it. I use this to enhance my skin tone not hide my skin. I'm a natural look person with rosacea so you still see pink but it is evened and toned down while having a nice even texture. I use a loose sheer powder on top, eye liner and lipstick and off to work I go. For the winter I may switch to the creamer version of this but for our hot Texas weather this has been a great product.

from New York
I love this brand - the skincare is EXCELLENT - so I hesitate to give this foundation a bad review...but it deserves it. Sheer coverage, very streaky, settled into the larger pores on my cheeks (which, thanks to the Resist line, aren't even that large!) My face looked acceptably even from a foot away, but up close...not natural looking at all, really visible in sunlight. I'd be embarrassed to wear this out of the house. The Resist tinted moisturizer is so much better, and actually offers much better coverage, btw.

Sheer but Natural-Looking
Okay, be warned: this stuff is sheer. It will even out your skin tone and stay matte, but it does not offer major coverage. Since I began using Paula's Choice products, my skin has improved dramatically and now I not only feel comfortable having such a sheer product, I prefer it. It does exactly what I want it to do- enhances my skin and makes it look even better. I have acne-prone skin and this makeup does not irritate or clog my pores at all. This looks amazingly natural and besides looking smooth and even, it's hard to tell if you're wearing makeup. A quick story: I was outside with some friends, and they all suddenly starting commenting on how great my skin looked and were surprised I was wearing makeup. It turned out that inside we all looked nice with our makeup on, but outside in the direct sunlight, mine looked flattering and natural, while theirs looked a little cakey and more obvious. I love that this product is flattering and skin-enhancing, and instead of acting as a "paint" makes my skin look healthy and natural.

What I've been looking for!
from Orlando, Florida
I have been a long time MAC customer until a recent visit to my dermatologist. I am in my forties and suffer with cystic acne. She mentioned that MAC contains an ingredient that aggravates the acne I am trying so hard to combat and suggested I try something else. Since I am a longtime user of PC skincare, I thought I would try the makeup. I ordered the Champagne beige for my NW20 skin tone. It seemed a bit dark coming out of the tube but it blends perfectly with my skin. Dare I say, it looks better than my MAC foundation. The coverage is medium and buildable; I appy it with a foundation brush. I like that it is not heavy or mask like and it looks so natural; perfect for the sweltering Florida weather. So far, so good...Thanks, Paula!

Not Enough Colors
from Columbus, OH
In Beautypedia, the reviews ding a lot of companies for not having enough foundation colors, and the selection here is laughable. I think there should be shades for women of color. I love Paula for information, but there should be more colors here.
