    • Dear Sonja D. I couldn't agree more. This foundation settled into my pores and I couldn't blend to save my soul! Too bad....wanted to love!

    Wanted to love....................
    • I have had this foundation for months and have waited to leave a review to give me time to properly try using it with different primers or no primer at all. I purchased shade 1 which may be too light. I am usually very light so I did try samples of 0 and 1 but may have needed a 2. That said............I cannot get this foundation to blend at all!!!! I am left with a face that has little rubbery balls of foundation rubbing off and/or little dots of foundation highlighting every single pore! yuk

    Excellent formula, terrible colors
    • This is an excellent foundation, BUT . . . the colors (at least the two I tried) were terrible. No. 1 (too light) made me look ghostlike, No. 2 (too dark) made me look like a peach, and the two mixed together in equal parts still looked orangey and unnatural. The shades in the All Bases Covered foundation are so neutral -- please duplicate them for those of us who need a less emollient makeup!

    Not for me
    • I am a huge fan and use Paula's products exclusively for my normal-dry skin and minor rosacea. I purchased this foundation because the previous product I used was discontinued. I mostly use Paula's pressed powder for my daily foundation so I only used this liquid twice. The results were the same: a big pimple on my cheek. I never have breakouts so my conclusion is that there is some ingredient in this foundation which clogs my pores.

    average.
    • I have tried most paulas best rated foudations on beautypedia, can't say this is up there. I have no visible pores & shallow lines being in my late 20s. Initial application is thick & even w/ her sponges it took me longer than most foundations to blend. Once finally blended it sets to a nice finish. The shades in this line have yellow undertones & light/medium was too yellow for my NW20-25 skin. Doesn't smooth fine lines any better than other foundations. Need better shades and texture.

    Good
    • One of the most natural looking foundations I have used. Goes very sheer, ideal for those who want coverage like tinted moisturizer minus moisturizing. Being sheer it doesn't cover much discolorations/marks. Since is little difficult to spread, it helps to apply it when the skin is still moist from toner/serum. Very good in its category but the' luminous finish' and 'soft glow' is much better achieved by Resist Brightening treatment than this foundation. :( No shades for deeper skin tones (:

RESIST Anti Aging Foundation hard to blend
    • I have to agree with other reviews on hard to blend. I received two samples in color Level 1 which was too light for me, but I thought I could use it under my eyes for dark circles. The color was good for this, but doesn't blend and seems to be sheer and a bit drying. I have normal skin. I tried putting moisturizer on first, but still didn't blend well. So, I will try other foundations of Paula's.

    Perfect!
    • Love this foundation! It's my new favorite. The color and coverage is very natural looking. I see some people had trouble with blending but after using the PC Skin Balancing Ultra Sheer Daily spf 30 and the skin balancing serum (that I use as a primer) I had no problem. It glided on like silk. For those who don't use the complete PC line, I recommend a primer under any foundation.

    Update
    • Pros: 1) Color, Light/Medium is a perfect match for my very hard to match skin (color is my main obstacle) 2) No sunscreen (allergic/sensitive skin) 3) Not drying. Cons: 1) Blendability. Smashbox primer helps. Without it, it's cakey, sticky, and magnifies pores/lines. 2) Light coverage 3) Dewey; gets shinier throughout the day 4) Does NOT hold up to humidity. It runs and beads; presses off when I touch my face with tissue, etc. Not suited for summer. Love the Pros; wish Cons could be fixed!

    Perfect for my oily skin!
    • As others have said, this is a little tough to blend, but it makes up for it in that it has a wonderful texture for my oily skin. Sets to a beautiful matte, natural finish that is not too chalky. You just have to put it on fast, which is not impossible. I would not recommend it for dry skin though. This with e.l.f. mineral booster powder over the top and I have perfectly matte, shine free skin ALL DAY, something I've been searching for in vain until now, and I love all the anti-aging ingredients

Same experience as Chris F - Good color, hard to blend
    • Experience like Chris F's. Have extremely dry fair skin.Tried product as substitute for discontinued All Bases Covered foundation in Light Cream. Received generous free sample from Customer Service - thanks! Applied Skin Recovery moisturizer & SPF 15 sunscreen underneath. After several hours, applied sample. Color good but hard to blend. Think product not so good on dry skin, maybe better on combo, normal, or oily.

Use a foundation brush -- makes all the difference!
    • Love Level 0 Porcelain! Like others, I'm an ABC user, but Nude is really too dark (I also miss Light Cream). But I was also having trouble getting this to apply evenly. Luckily, I read some of these comments and tried a Foundation Brush (mine is from Clinique--I don't think PC has one--opportunity there?), and wow, it made all the difference! (I use it over the new Clinical Redness treatment and the new Scar treatment, which has a texture very similar to a primer.)

    Not for me
    • I gave this foundation a real trial over many weeks, but sadly this product hasn't worked well with my skin. Color was a good match & it had good coverage. Right after putting it on I have a dewy appearance, but by lunchtime am super shiny. I have combination skin in cooler weather (which PC skincare products keep looking & feeling great!), but not the super oily look a few hours after putting this on. No breakouts, but was itchy sometimes.

    Good Coverage but too Light
    • Like the texture and coverage but found the colors off. Tried light/medium which was too light for my skintone, then tried medium which was too dark. Would be five stars if they could do similar shades too the best face forward foundation, comparable to the champagne beige. You need a wet sponge to put this on as it goes on thick. Other than that it does not settle into my wrinkles and is smooth.

    got potential AND flaws
    • Great formula (love vitamin C) and great color (porcelain is perfect for my fair skin) however, blending is EXTREMELY difficult. I tried a damp sponge, with downstroke blending and with padding motion, this foundation just would not blend well and it takes forever. Who got time for that? Too thick and hard to budge, needs improvement.

I REALLY wanted this to work...
    • I ordered three samples: Light; Light-Medium; and Medium. The Light-Medium was too light, and the Medium was too dark and yellow-y -- and I'm Asian -- it looked like I had applied bronzer all over my face. Plus, I found it difficult to blend on top of my Elta MD UV Clear SPF 46 -- it looked really patchy, even with my Beauty Blender. I tried 3x before giving up.

Pretty good foundation, more colours needed
    • Overall, this is a good foundation: SPF free (I prefer to apply sunscreen separately), good for days when I want something between full coverage and tinted moisturizer, nice finish. That being said, even level 5 is too light and cool on my medium olive skin (my best matches are MAC C4 and Urban Decay 6.0). I can correct this using finishing powder, bronzer, blush etc., but that's too fussy for everyday use. Deeper and warmer colour options are badly needed. The pump also dispenses too much.

    Need darker colors
    • I'm 56 years old with dry skin so I put it over the RESIST moisturizer with sunscreen. Its goes on easily with a nice finish. I have medium skin and can use the darkest color for winter. But I'm worried that come summer it will be too light. Then what? I agree - a full pump is too much. I use about a half a pump and get great light coverage. Please consider adding some darker colors. I'd love to use it year-round.

    • I've been using PC new Resist foundation for a week and have to say that I am really liking it. It is a nice, light to med. coverage that makes my complexion look natural and not made up. I use PC Resist moisturizer spf 25 underneath the Resist foundation for sun protection. Since the moisturizer makes my skin shiny due to the sunblock properties, it also makes the foundation look shiny so I dust with a brush her PC powder and it stays all day. I have normal, sensitive skin & no breakouts w/this

    • I have been using this for a couple of months now and I wanted it to work, but really, I'm just throwing the rest out. It is not waterproof or at least water resistant, I get streaks after a hot flash.

    FUTURE CULT PRODUCT ALERT
    • Level 0 Porcelain is destined to become a cult item. It's genuinely pale without casting horrible yellow, peach or rose tones. I'm very pale and a makeup junky. NO other cosmetic compares to this naturally pale tone. It sits beautifully on the skin ALL DAY, is matte and works with powders and highlighters. I'm delighted it has no sunscreen, I HATE SPF foundations, if you care about your skin you should wear a specific SPF seperately not depend on foundation spf which is never a complete defense.

    Too much, too light
    • I am a bit surprised at the tremendous amount that this is dispensed per use. It is way too much for one application. It is also extremely light. I am very fair and it was shocking that this was so very light.

    RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation
    • I love the finish of this foundation. I don't find it to be in the least mask-like. I always use a makeup primer, and feel this foundation wears quite well. The only complaint I have is that it is EXTREMELY difficult to blend. Typical methods of application result in streaky, uneven coverage. Patting with a makeup wedge works best, but takes a long time. Fuller coverage can be achieved where needed with a second application once the first has set.

Can RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation be used with my regular daytime moisturizer with sunscreen?

Absolutely! In fact, we recommend doing so because this foundation doesn't contain sunscreen! This foundation works beautifully over any Paula's Choice daytime moisturizer with sunscreen, including RESIST Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer with SPF 25.

Why doesn't RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation contain sunscreen?

RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation is designed to complement, not replace, your daytime moisturizer with sunscreen. The formula contains a substantial amount of proven antioxidants, repairing agents, and cell-communicating ingredients that work together with your SPF-rated moisturizer to provide optimum anti-aging benefits throughout the day.

What's the difference between RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation and All Bases Covered Foundation SPF 25?

The two biggest differences are that All Bases Covered foundation provides sun protection and RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation contains a range of ingredients designed to complement your SPF-rated product for skin that looks and acts younger. Also, the two foundations have different finishes, with All Bases Covered offering a soft, satin-matte finish and RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation offering a soft glow finish that feels matte and is ideal for those who want a more radiant complexion.

Is RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation suitable for acne-prone skin?

It should work fine for almost any skin type. However, if avoiding breakouts is your chief concern or if you have seriously oily skin, consider Paula's Choice Best Face Forward Foundation SPF 25 instead. For anti-aging benefits beyond sun protection, apply Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Retinol prior to Best Face Forward Foundation SPF 25 instead.

Is RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation suitable for rosacea-affected skin?

Yes. This foundation, like all from Paula's Choice is fragrance-free. RESIST Instant Smoothing Anti-Aging Foundation also contains a range of repairing and soothing ingredients to help strengthen skin's barrier and reduce redness.
