About Me Natural Style
Comments about RESIST Smoothing Primer Serum SPF 30 - 1 oz.:
Finally a clear SPF!!!! I have tattooed eyebrows so I've had a very difficult time finding the right sunscreen for my face without causing a whitecast on my tattooed brows. It does feel greasy when applying a good amount but that is because of the texture of the primer. It doesn't look greasy at all. Just wait around 5mins for it to absorb before applying foundation. I have sensitive dry/combo skin and did not feel like it made me oily or settled into dry patches. I also use an additional mattifying primer for my oily tzone.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Classic Style
I was so excited about this, but when I applied it after my other PC products (Vit C, serum, antioxidants, Niacinamide and sunscreen) it pilled up and rolled off. You can't use a product like that and put on foundation. Unfortunately, I returned it. This is the second time I've tried to write this review, but it hasn't been put online yet.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Pleasantly suprised by this primer serum!
I compared this to my favorite Smashbox primer and they are very different. I have dry skin and I found this at first to feel heavy, but after a few days I found it really helped add a nice boost to my foundation- which can be a little dry. I love the spf - thank you!!! I also do love the weight - even on a hot day today - I looked great all day long into the evening with no touch ups! Thanks Paula! I played around with the amount and way I was applying it to get it just right. Still love Smashbox, but with all the other good stuff in this primer, why settle?
A Game-changing SPF for Sensitive Skin
from New York
I have struggled with sensitive, oily skin for years. Mineral sunscreens were the only protection I could tolerate; only, even PC-approved liquid formulations of mineral products have been sensitizing and irritating, limiting me to (barely sufficient) powder SPFs. With this track record, the Primer SPF 30 from PC has been something of a shock. Unlike every other chemical-active sunscreen I have tried, this was completely non-irritating and without any kind of white cast. It has a lightweight serum feel and, after some absorption, sets to a soft, smooth matte finish which really works for my combination skin. As a man who personally prefers to keep his product usage invisible to others, this product has been a real game-changer. I can at last benefit from all of the advantages of chemical sunscreens without any of the drawbacks. No irritation, no white cast, no trace. This is truly a slam-dunk SPF; thanks a lot, Paula and team!

I had previously been using the Hourglass primer, which is expensive. I was happy to try this primer from PC. It has a heavier feel coming out of the tube than Hourglass, but it doesn't require much to cover the face, and it doesn't feel heavy after it is on the skin. It is smooth and my makeup goes on easily on top of it. It works just as well holding the makeup as the more expensive primer.

Didn't work for me
I have been using PC products for the last few years, and I am a walking advertisement for the brand. Seriously. I haven't come across a product that hasn't worked. I was excited to try the new primer serum and add it to my arsenal, but I found it very disappointing. Number one - it is NOT fragrance free. I don't know if it was added or a by product of the ingredients, but this stuff has a smell. Number two - my skin finds it VERY irritating. I wouldn't say I have sensitive skin, but I find that the mineral sunscreens tend to be less irritating. Number three - my makeup looks dry, creasy, and flakey. I've used it a few times, hoping that it would work, but it never does. It's too late to return my tube, so it's going in the trash.

Don't know what to say..
I got a travel size and... so far I'm a bit of disapointed. It's gelly, but goes on and feels oily, but after some time this feeling goes away. As for primer, didn't use it enough to express my opinion.

I find that almost all primers are greasy feeling by midday. I love Paula's Choice products and thought this one has to be better than all the others out there! I was disappointed. It goes on easily, very silky, but then by noon my face feels extreamly oily. I will keep looking for the perfect primer.

I submitted a review earlier and my comments were dropped (I hope through a glitch, not content editing). This product works great as a primer in small amounts. It works great as a sunscreen in generous quantities. However it doesn't work great as a primer sunscreen precisely because of that--use enough for an effective sunscreen and you have way too much on to be used as an effective primer. If you are buying this to do double duty as a primer sunscreen, it isn't going to. You aren't getting spf 30 with primer quantities. I'm actually extremely disappointed in this product because I think of PC as being very ethical about its descriptions of products, especially sunscreens. This one seems like a misleading compromise--exactly the type of thing that a product would have been seriously downgraded for on Beautypedia back when it was run by PC.

Really disappointed in this product! I bought it because it is spf and primer, so I figured I could skip a step and get both in one. That would be great! But no. According to the package directions, you should use a little if you intend to use it as a primer and a lot if you want it as sunscreen. You only get spf 30 if you apply in spf quantities. That means using a lot of primer--too much to work well as a primer. I'm disappointed that PC didn't make sure that this provided full protection in typical primer usage amounts. I'm just happy that PC has such a great returns policy, since this is going right back.
