About Me Beauty Conscious
Comments about RESIST Weekly Retexturizing Foam 4% BHA - 1.5 oz:
I've been using Paula's products for years and have never had a problem, however this product really irritated my skin. I tried it twice a few weeks apart to make sure this was what caused the problem. The morning after applying this my undereye area became red and swollen. By the following night my face had developed tiny bumps, patchy redness, and itchy. It took a few days to clear up. I assume this is some kind of allergic reaction to an ingredient in the product. I've used other products with salicylic acid so I don't think it's that.

My plan was to use this product for semi stubborn breakout areas (I already use the Resist/Breakout line and LOVE it.) Unlike other reviews, this didn't burn my skin or made it red, it just smells quite awful. Really awful. This is coming from someone who if this worked I could handle it smelling like a dead skunk. I noticed no difference and would prefer the 9% BHA spot treatment from Paula's Choice, just waiting for the sample size to restock. I'll likely just exchange this for a full size 2% BHA Resist Treatment.

About Me Minimalist
I found it a little greasy, and my skin takes a fair bit of time to absorb it. I use it once a week PM, and I find the I wake with really soft skin. I have used it for about 6 weeks, and I find that my skin is definitely healthier looking. It did make me breakout initially, but it cleared up soon enough. Will definitely recommend this product

It says to use weekly but I've put it almost daily in my night time routine on my trouble spots. It's pretty gentle and non-irritating so I would recommend it to those with sensitive skin, maybe not as frequently as I do though. I have only used it for 2 weeks so far but I have seen an improvement on my acne. My period is coming soon so I'm getting flare ups (eating cheese and bread probably doesn't help either....) but it has helped with fading my old acne scars. I also notice my fine lines around my mouth are smoother. When I apply makeup my pores aren't as noticeable (hallelujah!). I do notice when I wake up my skin tends to be a little oilier than usual. So far so great. Lets hope in another month that results have improved!

Love this product! I use it at least 3 times a week. I see a difference in my skin the day after using this product. I have very oily/acne prone skin and this has saved my skin tremendously. This products also help with reducing my redness from my acne scars. This product I will not go without!
Not for me
from Omaha, NE
To start off, I am a dermatologists nightmare. I have rosacea, dermatitis, and acne all on my face. I used to get chemical peels every 6 weeks which worked great, but I grew tired of having the appointment followed by the week of peeling then the red face that felt sunburnt to feel presentable for about 4 weeks before having to do it all over again. I was in search for something I could do at home, on my own time that I could make work around my schedule instead of working my schedule around it. Paula's Choice has been the most successful in accomplishing this. Every morning and evening I wash my face with a different brands gentle clean foaming cleanser (sorry Paula's Choice but it works for my skin), apply Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, followed by Paula's Choice Clear Daily Skin Clearing Treatment 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (anything higher makes my face red) finishing with moisturizer (I have yet to find the perfect one). This keeps my skin mostly under control. Once or twice a month 1 pimple will try to fight its way through and I was wanting to put an end to that too. I also am getting large pores around my nostrils and checks along my nose. I thought this once weekly treatment might be the final and perfect solution to my skin problems. I applied it and it felt like it sat on top of my skin, but I was going to bed and would be washing my face in the morning so that didn't bother much. It did have a bad odor but that was gone or not noticeable by me after a minute so my hopes were still high. In the morning my face was quite pink, I washed my face, did my regular skin care routine and went on with my day. My face grew pinker until it was finally red, then an itchy rash developed, followed by peeling (also itchy). This process took a nightmare of a week. A week doesn't usually seem that long but when you are trying to keep yourself from scratching at your face every waking minute, a week feels like a year. Once that process ended, the result was as described by other reviewers. My skin was smooth, soft, more even, my pores seemed to appear smaller after just one use! The results were amazing, unfortunately for me, I had a reaction that just isn't worth it. I don't know if it is an allergy or one of my skin conditions that caused this, but I clearly can't use this product. If you have sensitive skin or other skin conditions I suggest trying this on a small spot for the first time. My skin has never reacted like this before, but lesson learned. I fully intend to continue my search for that perfect product and hope to find it with Paula's Choice.

Once a week on your feet!
from DFW, TX
Combine one pump of this per foot with the Hydrating Treatment Mask once a week at bedtime for a real boost to your feet. I apply socks and keep them on overnight to wake with super soft feet. You can tell an immediate difference but with repeated use it just gets better! No more cracked, dry skin around the heals! I got this tip from the web and I was reluctant to try it because I felt it was a bit expensive to combine the two products but it was so worth the investment. I rarely need to go for professional pedicures. I now use this product exclusively for my feet. I have sensitive skin and much prefer the results of the Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% AHA for my face and cuticles.
Itchy Rash Immediately After First Application!
from Cambridge, MA
I'd suggest ordering a sample of this before buying an entire bottle, and try it in a small inconspicuous area before applying more broadly. I broke out with an itchy rash of tiny bumps all over my face and neck within an hour of application. The rash hasn't cleared yet. Hope it goes away in the next couple of days, since I have a wedding to attend next week! I'm really disappointed I had such a bad reaction considering I've had good experiences with other PC products, including BHAs from Clear and Resist lines. I did some googling, and it seems many others have had this same reaction to PC's BHA 4%. Some suggested there may be a common irritant in the formulation. Wish this weren't the case :(

Did Not work!!
I was very excited for this product as my daughter has acne on her forehead and blackheads, nothing was working on her so thought to give 4% BHA a try , I just used one pump on her whole face during bed time and when she woke up next morning she was complaining of burning and face was red ,dry with brown crusty and flaky skin ( I am not sure if it burned her skin). I felt so bad ..looks like instead of improving it made it worst.

I've used this before with some dryness, but nothing really bad. Last week I had a bad reaction.. My face started feeling hot and prickly. I looked in the mirror and it was bright red. The next morning it was slightly swollen in addition to the previous symptoms. It has gradually improved, but it's still dry and flaky. My skin is combination and is more oily this time of year, so it should not be this dry! I think perhaps the problem is the added salicylic acid. Some people might be sensitive to it. I've used glycolic acid and other exfoliants before and have never had this kind of reaction.
