    Fantastic If Used Very Sparingly!
    • Having used this product weekly for many months, I found that "much less is more than enough." At first I used it several times a week, more as a spot treatment and then a little bit all around. Results were fantastic, but as other found, you can end up with dry red rough patches, flaky skin. I was not put off as the results were so great. I used less and less over the weeks until now use it once weekly with only one pump to spread on a couple areas & spots. No flakes or patches anymore!

    Great, but not amazing.
    • Having used this at least 1x/week for almost 6 months, I really just feel so-so about this product. I already rotate 2% BHA and 8% AHA daily for the treatment of cystic acne, milia and blackheads but was looking for something to be more proactive with the milia which are STUBBORN. This doesn't bother my skin, but I don't see much difference. Granted, I can add BHA9 on top of 8%AHA nightly with no irritation, so I might just have hit exfoliation's limits. Love PC, but might not purchase again.

    Strong Exfoliation
    • This product offers strong exfoliation, I know my skin can only handle this once a week, I use the 2% BHA Gel nightly, but I'm glad I gave it a try. It really does a thorough exfoliation and I wake up with smoother skin, anything inflamed goes down, as does the odd potential breakout. This is, quite simply, a great product when you have a bad night out, it perks things up.

    Good supplement in routine.
    • I bought this product because I have breakouts but my skin can't tolerate benzoyl peroxide and the BHA 9 did nothing for me. I hoped that it would work just as well as benzoyl, but it doesn't. I have used this foam for a few months now and I do think my breakouts are occurring less frequently but they don't disappear faster once they appear. I'm still giving it 4 stars even though it didn't work how I wanted it to work because I see smoother skin every time I used it.

    Major Breakout - Beware
    • This product caused a major breakout for me. My skin is generally not terrible, just one or two blemishes usually and sometimes if my hormones get thrown off I'll get a deeper pimple. I tried this product to clarify my skin and make it as smooth as possible for summer. I used it last week and over the next three days every time I looked in the mirror I could see a new pimple beginning to emerge. This is the most acne I have ever had at once. My skin is used to exfoliation daily. Did not work out

    Fabulous Product
    • Have been using Resist 4% BHA for a month & what an amazing difference in my skin. Clearer, smoother, and better texture, due to the way it cleans the pores from the inside out. The product overview is spot on - I never did outgrow my blemish-prone skin, but, finally, I have a product that outsmarts it! The key is, use sparingly. If you think you've used too little, you've probably used just the right amount. Almost 59, and this skin that confounded me, is in check & looking 10+ years younger!

    Face Bomb!
    • Face bomb is right! That's what I called it when it came in the mail. How apt that turned out to be. It spreads easily but might sting a little if you get too much around the thinner skinned ares like the nostrils. About 30 minutes after applying, you can see a noticeable difference in your skin and in the morning, it's darn near a miracle. My skin feels clear and looks so smooth. It greatly shrinks your pore size. Just be careful with how hard you press on it or you'll get too much. Face bomb!

    Reacted to it
    • I have used just about every product from Paula in the last 10+ years, and this is the first one that I had a bad reaction to. Terrible itching, horrible redness, bumps and flaking that lasted for almost a week. Tried it twice in hopes it was a fluke, same thing happened. As always, customer service was helpful no questions asked. I can use any of Paulas's AHAs and BHAs, retinols, serums, etc. but something in this product and the way it works is just not for me. Wish that wasn't the case.

    Awesome!
    • I love this product and the foam makes it very easy to apply. I do use this every other day and have had no problem with any skin burning or irritation. I love the way it makes my skin feel and I have definitely noticed results. My skin is brighter, smoother and firmer. I am in my 60's and have always taken care of my skin. I have been using Paula's products for several months and when compared to the other expensive products on the market, I choose Paula's.

    Very good
    • This is a great product. Nothing has ever had any effect on the keratosis pilaris on my arms, including other BHA products from PC. As long as I apply this diligently, the KP is completely gone. Works great on my face as well. Doesn't redden or sting my sensitive skin. Well done!

    Reaction to this product
    • I soooo wanted to love this product as I do most of Paula's Resist line. After the third weekly application, my skin is itchy, red in spots, and I also have a spotty rash. In retrospect, I did have a reaction to applications 1 and 2 but much less pronounced and I overlooked them. While I have had a history of reaction to some products in the past, this has never happened with Paula's products, nor has it happened for a number years. I won't be trying for a fourth application! :)

    Magic in a Bottle
    • By far my favorite PC product. Literally changed my skin over night. I'm 30 years old and have started investing in anti aging products and this definitely does the trick. The texture of my skin improved almost instantly. The best part is that it only takes one pump. So at once a week, this will last me quite a well. No cons with this one.

Very Impressive Exfoliant -- Well Worth Trying
    • Product lives up to its claims. Experienced minor stinging & redness on my sensitive, rosacea-prone skin, comforted with Hydralight Lotion. I'm using it about 2-3 times every two weeks, alternating with Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel. Skin is clearer, pores tighter, and facial lines minimized. Nice texture, easy application.

    A truly effective product
    • I have tried other Paula BHA products: I bought the 9% as soon as it came out and crossed my fingers, but it didn't really do anything for my clogged pores and blackheads. Frankly, I didn't expect much from this 4% foam but, hallelujah, it has done wonders for my skin. I am less oily. I am clearer. I have fewer clogged pores. My blackheads have improved. My overall skin tone is better. when I look in the mirror in the morning I have the option not to wear make up. Try this!!

    Not for neck!
    • I've been a loyal Paula's Choice customer for many years and have loved everything to this point. I purchased this product for my and my mom; she had keratosis pilaris on her neck, and I wanted it for anti-aging for myself. Long story short, both of us ended up with redness and rough, itchy spots on our necks, particularly the neck fold area. I've never had sensitive skin and it's oily.

Hi Maritza! We're sorry to hear of your experience (and that of your mom)! The neck area is typically more sensitive to potent treatments like the RESIST 4% BHA Foam, which means that some may find they cannot tolerate using such a formula on this area.  We would recommend considering our RESIST Weightless Body Treatment 2% BHA, which is a gentle and light lotion formula. Please contact our Customer Care Team for assistance with a refund or credit.

    Awesome product
    • I have been having tiny white bumps under my eyes for years. Once in a while I even tried to squeeze the biggest ones of them out but it never worked well. I read another customer's review that the product helped her to get rid of those nasty things. And it did it for me too! I am so excited. And it did clean my blackheads also. This is the first skin care product which made such a big difference for my skin. I have already purchased a second bottle for my daughter.

    Changed my skin, I'm addicted!
    • Wow! After just a couple of uses, my pores shrank and my blackheads disappeared. My pores were not really horrible to begin with, but this foam really improved their appearance. I'm also seeing almost no breakouts, and when one happens I put some foam on it and it goes away quickly. Skin feels very smooth after applying the foam without dryness. I'm using it a couple of times a week now, and also applying it to my chest and back area hoping to see less breakouts.

    • I really struggle with breakouts due to clogged pores, and I am also prone to excessive picking of said pores. This product has changed my skin!! I've gotten maybe only two real, inflamed spots since using this (and that is a miracle). I alternate this product every night with an AHA product. And I always am so excited to use this product because I really do see a dramatic difference in my skin. I would recommend this to anyone!

A little pricy, but worth it.
    • I didn't have much luck with the 9%, but this one is great. I definitely saw subtle results even after the first application. Just really smoothed out my skin and tightened pores. I suspect it's reduced some inflammation as well. Hasn't eradicated blackheads after 3 weeks of using it every other day (which I don't even know is possible from a topical treatment), but definitely reduced their appearance. 45 years old and happier with my skin than ever.

I use almost everyday on my trouble spots and in short order the bumps and pores are clearing. Nothing else has worked for me like this has. I have found a keeper!

    • I read reviews on this for several weeks and waited til it was on sale to purchase. Didn't notice anything overnight like a lot of people seemed to, but about 3 weeks in and it's really amazing. I never used it more than twice a week at least 3 days apart, and my skin is finally SO SOFT and clear looking. I have oily, really clogged pores and occasional small breakouts, but I look great! My skin is calm and again, SOOO soft. I LOVE THIS

VERY effective for acne, but stronger than BHA 9
    • This works even stronger than BHA 9, however it also *feels* stronger than BHA 9. While BHA 9 is very effective but feels uber gentle and never irritating, this can have a little sting. I use it 1x/week whereas I could use the BHA 9 every night (if I could afford to anyway). Though I could probably use it 2x/week if not for cost. Skin is tolerating it better now that it's spring, than when I first got it in winter. If you struggle with acne, TRY IT. Just don't overdo and make sure to moisturize.

Great product for short and long term results
    • I have used the foam treatment for a while now. It bums me that it has lesser product amount compared to the 2%bha gel, but given that you should only use it fewer times it is definitely worth the money. This is great for short term benefits such as helping clear down minor bumps and flaws, but it is also good for long term such as acne scarring hyperpigmentation. Overall this product is definitely a plus, I only wish that Paula's Choice in Australia didn't close down :<

What makes this product unique?
Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foam is an innovative treatment that delivers smoother, younger-looking skin overnight. Specialized technology encapsulates anti-aging superstar salicylic acid for time-released delivery—so you get dramatic results without flaking or signs of irritation.

The unique liquid-to-foam texture feels water-light yet is packed with soothing ingredients that reduce redness, calm inflammation, unclog pores, and reduce symptoms of rosacea. Plant-based antioxidants work with the exfoliating, pore-penetrating action of salicylic acid to stimulate collagen production for firmer, smoother, more radiant skin.

This weekly skin saver not only reduces multiple signs of aging, but also fades red marks from breakouts; plus, it's a potent option for banishing stubborn "chicken skin" (keratosis pilaris) on arms or legs. This product has a pH range of 3.2-3.8.

Who is this product for?
Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foam is for anyone concerned with signs of aging, enlarged pores, and breakouts. Also excellent for those with rosacea or for treating "chicken skin" (keratosis pilaris). The formula is suitable for all skin types, but best for combination to oily or breakout-prone skin.

NOTE: Those allergic to aspirin (acetylsalicylate) should not use products containing salicylic acid (beta hydroxy acid).

Detailed instructions on how/when to apply your Paula's Choice products can be found in our How to Put Together Your Own Skincare Routine article.

Can I use Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment with my regular BHA exfoliant? What about combining it with Resist BHA 9?

Yes, but this isn't necessary to get great results. However, depending on the amount of sun damage you have or if you have stubborn breakouts and clogged pores adding this treatment to your regular BHA exfoliant can enhance the results.

If you'd like to use two BHAs at the same time, pay attention to how your skin responds and adjust frequency of usage accordingly. When using Weekly Retexturizing Foam with one of our Skin Perfecting BHA exfoliants, apply the Skin Perfecting exfoliant after Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment. If using with Resist BHA 9, apply that spot treatment before or after applying Resist Weekly Retexturizing Treatment.

How frequently can I use Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment? Is using it every day too much?

Most people concerned with signs of aging plus clogged pores/breakouts and oily skin will find that using this treatment 1-3 times per week is perfect. However, you may apply it more often if desired, based on how your skin responds. For some skin types and skin problems it can be helpful to use this treatment up to 5 times per week. For example, those with very oily skin, stubborn clogged pores, or a rough, bumpy skin texture may find more frequent use is preferred. Applying every night is an option, too, but most will find this is overdoing it, especially if you are also using other exfoliants.

If you are struggling with very stubborn acne or other types of breakouts, you may find nightly usage works beautifully for a brief period of time. Once the breakouts are under control, you can reduce frequency of application or begin using one of our other, lower-strength BHA exfoliants daily to maintain the results.

There are so many different BHA exfoliants! How do I choose the best one for me?

Choose the best BHA for you based on your skin type, concerns, and texture preferences. Liquids and gels are great for oily or combination skin; lotions are ideal for normal to dry skin or combination skin with drier areas.

Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment is ideal for normal to oily or combination skin struggling with wrinkles, enlarged pores, breakouts, and rough, uneven skin. Pair this with any of our Skin Perfecting BHA exfoliants to see a significant improvement in all of those concerns, or it may be used alone as your sole BHA exfoliant.

Can I use Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment as my only exfoliant?

Yes, though if you opt to use this as your daily exfoliant, monitor how your skin responds. If you see signs of irritation or flaking, reduce frequency of usage (perhaps to every other night or every couple of nights) or alternate this with one of our Skin Perfecting BHA exfoliants.

What’s the difference between Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment and Resist BHA 9?

Both exfoliants have time-released delivery systems to ensure great results without irritation and both contain salicylic acid, though in different amounts (4% for the Weekly Treatment and 9% for BHA 9). Beyond the percentage of salicylic acid, the other differences are texture, with the Weekly Retexturizing Treatment being liquid-to-foam and BHA 9 being a serum-like fluid.
Finally, Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment is designed for using all over the face, neck, and chest while Resist BHA 9 is meant to be a spot treatment for stubborn imperfections, not an all-over exfoliant. Both work to address multiple concerns, including signs of aging, and both may be used as needed to solve such issues as clogged pores, blackheads, white bumps, and for smoothing the appearance of wrinkles.

Can Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment be used on the body, such as for dry, cracked heels?

Yes! This treatment may be used on areas of thickened, built-up skin on knees, feet, elbows, etc. At night, apply a thin layer and follow with an emollient moisturizer. The next morning you’ll wake up to dramatically softer, smoother skin!

I have KP (keratosis pilaris) and products with 2% salicylic acid haven’t helped. Will this work?

Quite possibly, yes! It’s worth a try because this is a stronger BHA exfoliant formulated in a unique delivery system to ensure dramatic results without irritation. Every Paula's Choice product is sold with a 100% money-back guarantee, so you have nothing to lose!

Can Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment be used with skin-lightening products?

Yes. Whether the skin-lightening product contains hydroquinone or other lightening ingredients, it will help to enhance the effectiveness of your skin-lightening product. At night, apply the Weekly Retexturizing Treatment first, and then follow with your skin lightener, serum (if used), and your moisturizer.

Will Resist Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment cause my skin to dry out?

Although it's possible that some who use this product too frequently or combined with other exfoliants may notice some flaking or sensation of dryness, when used as directed Resist Weekly Retexturizing Treatment won’t leave skin feeling dry or looking flaky. It contains several ingredients that help skin retain moisture—you’ll be surprised at how unbelievably smooth this treatment makes your skin after just one night’s use! If you remain concerned about dryness, follow application with a moisturizer suitable for your skin type.
