Comments about 8% AHA Gel - 3.3 oz:
I have struggled for 15 years with severe acne - it's been a constant in my life. The first thing I ordered from PC was a variety of sample packets of PC AHA products - the 8% gel was the one for me so I splurged in the full-size bottle. The texture is great, and the smell is much better that the 5% that I wanted to desperately to like. The best part is that my hyper sensitive skin seems to welcome this product. Clearly it needs that chemical exfoliation to thrive. I should note that this this has not reduced the size or appearance of my poresI started using it initially after my cleanser and before my moisturizer at night. I saw huge improvements in the frequency and severity of breakouts. Now, I have the rare breakout but they're now the exception on my face, rather than the rule. The post-acne redness is slowly fading (6 months since I started), but realistically they're showing great progress. I have since added in a BHA, vitamin C, the antioxidant serums, and a more intensive moisturizer from the PC line that has helped the AHA work even better. I will never give this product up - it's a game changer for my tired skin.

Love this Gel
I have had milia (small white beads around my eyes now for a couple of years). I have tried several products, one eye peel from another company worked but they discontinued the product. This AHA 8% exfoliant has removed most of the milia. It is a gentle exfoliant, and a good size for the price. Thanks so much!!!!! Please keep making this!
Works well, yet is gentle

This product is a very watery gel, and spreads very easily. It dries quickly, and does leave a slightly tacky feeling. It is effective yet gentle, and is also quite hydrating. The one gripe I have is that the pH of this product could be lower. Also, if you didn't know already, please do not use this on broken skin. It isn't bad for your skin, but it really stings.

I've been using the 8% AHA Gel for about 5 years now. I use it 2-3times per week, after cleansing my face with CeraVe SA Cleanser I like the light silky feel of the Gel and there is no 'after effect' gluey feel on my skin, as I've found with other lines. I have combination skin that turns dry during the winter months in the northeast. I am 66 and twice in the past week, I've had people looked shocked at me, when I mention my age. That's why I use PC products :-)
Made me break out horribly :(

I've been a devoted PC user for the 2% BHA for quite a few years now. I recently decided to work on lessening the appearance of my sun spots and was told that this product should help. I don't doubt that it would have helped, but it totally gave me large pimples around parts of my face where I don't normally break out, reversing the work that the BHA had done to my previously acne prone skin. Pretty disappointed that this didn't work out :(

My Favourite Paula's Choice Product!
About Me Beauty Conscious
I absolutely love this product! Out of all the PC products I use, this one has had the most noticeable effect. I can't recommend it enough. It helps to clear or heal my acne overnight and if I get a blemish it heals fast. It also clears my pores and makes my complexion look great. Prior to discovering Paula's Choice I struggled with acne all my life. Now finally I have clear skin. I experimented with the various products until I found the perfect routine. I have sensitive skin and I live in Toronto where the winters are cold. In the winter I adjust my routine if my skin is dry. These are my favourite products:Morning:CLEAR Pore Normalizing Cleanser or CALM Redness Relief Cleanser (winter)CALM Redness Relief TonerCLEAR Regular Strength Daily Skin Clearing Treatment With 2.5% Benzoyl PeroxideCALM Redness Relief 1% BHA Lotion ExfoliantCALM Redness Relief MoisturizerEveningCLEAR Pore Normalizing CleanserCLEAR Regular Strength Acne ExfoliantSKIN PERFECTING 8% AHA Gel ExfoliantorRESIST Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum
Worth every penny!

This 8% AHA Gel is good stuff!! I still use my 2% BHA to keep my blackheads under control but this stuff makes my skin look flawless! I am 24 years old but already have discoloration from not wearing sunscreen. This product is fantastic and because of it I don't wear any face makeup ever! P.S I only wear this at night and sunscreen during the day always!
About Me Beauty Expert
I have used AHA products in the past. I ran out of a 2% glycolic gel in another brand that I use and decided to try this one. I did not see any noticeable results at all. With my other 2% AHA I could see results the next morning, my skin would be glowing. I used this a couple of days in conjunction with the RESIST Weightless toner and developed a horrible, itchy, red rash all along my neck. These were the ONLY two products that I had recently changed/added in my skin care regimen. I have sent this products back for a refund. I was not up for trying to eliminate the use of one product and risk for this rash to occur on my face. It was worth a try though.
A good place to start if you have never used an AHA before.

This gel has a very thin consistency that leaves skin silky right after applying it. I apply this twice a day, right after Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner has absorbed well and before applying Skin Recovery Antioxidant Serum with Retinol. At the time I started using this AHA gel, I had gone without using my favourite Alpha Skin 10% AHA lotion for quite some time because of an eczema flare up and extreme dryness all over my face. As my eczema cleared, I figured going back to 10% would be too harsh so I opted for PC 8% AHA gel. After using for a couple of weeks I felt my skin get a bit softer (mostly because of the "silky feel" after applying), but not all that smoother. As I would run my fingers over my face, my skin still felt rough almost like a layer of dry dead skin. I switched back to my 10% and that did the trick. Decided to try out the 8% just for maintenance but my skin did not maintain it's smooth texture while using PC 8% .I will say, this is a good place to start if you have never used an AHA before. Does not irritate sensitive skin :)Also, It did not work well under my mineral spf nor my foundation. It peeled/balled up :( a bummer for sure.Overall I think it's too gentle of a formula and just didn't work well with my other post-skincare products.I would return this if I still could.

I really wanted this to work for me. I have sensitive skin and it is hard to find an exfoliater that works without irritation. This burned immediately and turned my skin red. I tried to use this product multiple times but sadly my skin is too sensitive.
