Fantastic! A PC Classic!
from San Francisco, CA
About Me Minimalist
Comments about 8% AHA Gel - 3.3 oz:
Incredibly effective product that really can change your skin. A PC classic, this is the first PC formulation I used, and I continue to have to have it for my skin a decade later. It really can improve your skin in many ways, and it can start doing it literally overnight. I can't say it's a miracle for deeper wrinkles, but it does somewhat soften fine lines. What it excels at is even toning and giving a clean and more youthful glow. It's only after you start using an exfoliant such as AHA and see the results, that you suddenly realize how long have I been walking around like that--dull, perhaps flakey and more tired looking? Yikes! This gel formula has been great on my dry skin (which is usually not the case with gel formulations for me), and while not as silky as a serum, it does seem to help moisturizers, immediately following, to spread easier and more evenly. The bottle lasts forever too--6-10 months depending on frequency.Because of Paula's teaching with this product (formulated at a lower pH to keep the glycolic acid active) I started to learn about what was in cosmetics, and about what made an effective formulation, and about what my skin needed. Then I started to purchase skin care products based on research and results, and NOT hype. Thanks to Paula and her team for this marvelous product, and so many others as well, and for teaching us a more effective ways to combat aging other than jar packaging containing "miracle broths", or "wonder melon extracts"...
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Beauty Conscious
Since I have combo skin I went for BHAs first but I didn't see results. I have been using PC products for years and it's the only skincare I use. About 6 months ago I bought the 5% AHA product, I did see minimal results, more than with BHA, but not enough for my liking so a month ago I decided to try a stronger formula with the 8%....OMG...amazing results and within a week! This is the first product to drastically minimize the size of the pores on my nose, chin, & t zone. My skin is so smooth and even and my foundation goes on so much more evenly and flawless. I actually use less now. I'm amazed with the results and I actually cocktail this with the 5% most nights rotating with the 1% retinol. The 8% gel spreads well and a very little goes a very long way so excellent value. I will never stop using this. I just ordered the new niacinamide 10% today which I'm hoping to boost all my other products as well. This is the first PC product that seriously has wowed me the most and provided the most noticeable results. Thank you for an excellent product!

This product is amazing. I got the sample first and saw results from just using that for a few days. I have seen a huge decrease in blackheads and the texture of the skin on my chin has improved drastically. I bought this product to use instead of the BHA, which I also have, since I am breastfeeding. This works even better for me than the BHA, which is surprising since I have combination skin. Definitely give this one a try!
Service and delivery comments:
After using a sample, I bought the full size product. Unfortunately the bottle I received was damaged, possibly due to extreme heat. The cap also did not fit on the top. Still love the product, though.

I've used several PC products and really wanted to like this one, but I'm sad to say it didn't work. I purchased this after reading the great reviews, as well as the fact that this was supposed to be good for dry skin. My skin is normal most of the times, and it takes either a lot of neglect (ie: not moisturizing for a considerable amount of time in the dead of winter) or something else to get dry patches to form. The AHA gel made my skin extremely irritated and inflamed, and I even found it oddly drying. Even when I decided to tone down how often I used it compared to how often I would use BHA, this did not help and it had me breaking out into small dry rashes alongside my cheeks :( tldr: I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with even mildly sensitive skin, as I didn't think my skin was all that sensitive till I tried this.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great for Summer Mornings
from White Plains, NY
In the summer, I use this in the AM rather than my BHA exfoliant. Then I just use my BHA at night to deep clean my pores from the day's dirt and pollution. It works like a charm and my skin seems to find it less irritating than using the BHA both morning and night. The only drawback is you can't use this with the vitamin C serums as it will leave your skin pink from irritation. Which is why I don't typically use this in the winter - because my skin needs to extra boost of moisture the resist super anti-ox serum gives in the AM.

Great for sun damage
I got this exfoliant to help with the sun spots that have been popping up on my skin in this summer weather. With a good sunscreen this works well to reduce visible sun damage. I only wish this came in a lotion formula as I have very dry skin and need all the help with moisture I can get. I could have sworn there was a lotion formula for AHA a few years ago on the paulas choice website but it seems to have been discontinued? It's a shame because I preferred the lotion texture to the gel.
This product came in a kit I ordered. I tried to use it as suggested but it was just too irritating at the time so I put it away in the cupboard. Big clue though, it was the skin recovery kit I had ordered and I had very bad skin at the time; water even irritated it. Every other product in the kit worked beautifully and I ordered some more products. A few months ago I tried the AHA gel again and to my surprise it didn't irritate my skin but the results were amazing. I started using it every day. I think that it was too much for my extremely sensitive skin in the beginning, but after using the other products to recover my skin to a better state it works like a charm! It might be a good idea for other people who initially experience irritation to allow their skin to recover before trying this gel.

About Me Beauty Expert
I have been using for a few months now. I have sensitive skin, and if I use it too frequently it I experience some dryness and irritation. So it took some playing to find the perfect exfoliation schedule, but it was worth it. I use it at night, twice a week. I have had huge benefits from this product used in conjunction with the 2% BHA lotion and PC's Resist serum and Vitamin C booster. A MUST product.

I used this every night at bedtime and really like the results. I have previously used BHA products since I have combination skin and BHA is supposed to be better for combination and oily skin. However, I get much better results with AHA products (I've tried to change to BHA several times during the past few years and keep returning to AHA products). This is a very light gel. I used to have a blemish either coming or going, but have not had any since I've started using this about a month ago. I've also noticed that after a couple weeks of use, my skin seems a bit smoother. I use less foundation and it blends a little easier. I like the dispenser since it protects the product and still allows me to pump exactly the amount I need (a little less than a full pump for my entire face). There is no scent and I follow with the Vit C serum and my nightly moisturizer. I'm very pleased with the results and have had no issue with my sensitive, mature skin.

Gentle exfoliant; just bought a new bottle
By J Atl
from Atlanta, GA
I've been using this exfoliant most mornings for probably almost a year. I'll be up front and honest about the changes I've noticed and the way I feel overall:This AHA exfoliant is gentle, doesn't irritate or sting when I apply it all over my face, and the lightweight, low-viscosity gel absorbs very quickly with no residue. I use it in the morning under my moisturizer, and use a 2% BHA at night. The BHA is a bit too strong to use A.M. and P.M. for me - occasionally I notice a little redness on my face - so that's why I alternate with an AHA in the morning. (Since I wear makeup, I like the BHA at night because it is oil-soluble and can penetrate the pores). I find this AHA soothing and gentle, as I stated, and never causes any redness. It's one of my Paula's Choice "holy grails" - it's a good value for me. You can do better, perhaps, with the Resist line AHA, but as I don't have an endless money supply :) this one is just perfect for me, and I make sure all the "anti-aging" goodies (just to lump them all together) are in my moisturizers! All in all, I'm super-pleased with this product and I just purchased my second bottle.
