Wonderful for evening out skin tone
from Costa Rica
Comments about RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment 5% AHA - 1.7 oz:
I use this product every now and then and specially when I know that I will not be exposing myself to the sun in the next couple of days, just to avoid as much UV exposure as possible while the skin heals (I still use sunscreen while indoors). I have combination skin, and this product helps even the skin tone around my cheeks and lips very effectively. I can see a major difference by the next morning, when the skin looks radiant, more supple and even. I have been able to use this product several days in a row, but if I extend the use for too many days, I may start to see some redness and irritation. I have assessed that this product works best for me if I apply it every three days or so. I really feel like this is a very effective, yet mild, formulation, but it is always advised for anyone trying an AHA for the first time to do a patch test first and take it slowly on the first applications.
Service and delivery comments:
Prompt delivery and in perfect condition. Since I do not use this daily, a bottle can last me around six months too!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Never used a skincare product that hurt me quite like this!
This was probably even worse than Paula's Choice RESIST Daily Pore-Refining Treatment 2% BHA. My skin started going crazy when I first applied PC's BHA and AHA, but I figured it was my skin that was not accustomed to being slathered new products on it. The first application gave me a tingly/burning sensation on my right cheek - I stopped it right away and applied it once a week. Eventually, I slowly introduced both products by applying them every 2-3 days to give my skin a chance to adjust, and then slowly increased the frequency to once a day (evening). At first, I figured it just needed an adjustment period. The tingly burn persisted, so I eventually discarded the AHA altogether. Four months later, I still have weird bumps from the burning of the AHA that have still not healed. (FYI in regards to PC's BHA, I'm also getting so many blackheads appearing in random areas where my skin used to be clear?? I've got way more sebaceous filaments appearing than I did before I introduced PC's BHA/AHA). I made the mistake of buying the full-sized bottle instead of trying a sample, but the shipping was a bit pricey so I went all in and bought both bottles (also because I was so excited to try these new products that all these users have been raving about! Not to mention Paula's A++ recommendations.) NOTE:I have combination skin. My routine consists of double cleansing (Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil + Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Creamy), PC's RESIST Daily Pore-Refining Treatment 2% BHA, RESIST Daily Smoothing Treatment 5% AHA, followed by Skincare Cosmetics Retinol Antioxidant Serum, and Cerave's Facial Moisturizing Lotion (AM and PM depending on whether it's day or night), and during the day Laroche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Fluid Lotion SPF60.

One of my "go-to" products
I am a big fan of this product and use it every day after cleansing. I am very sensitive to retinols and don't use them - they are just too irritating. While this can't do the same as a retinol, it does help with exfoliate and cell turnover and keep my skin looking pretty good. It doesn't work miracles but it's a good, non-irritating product if you want chemical exfoliation and can't tolerate retinols. I've been using it for many years now.

I would never buy this product
from Northridge, Ca
I recently purchased PC Resist Dark spot eraser 7% AHA lotion. I used it for four days, and I had no reaction to it. I wanted to use an exfoliant under the dark sport eraser, so I started using this product the Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment 5% AHA. I immediately felt a tingling sensation, my face got completely red, and in the morning I woke up with bumps (pimple like) all over the right side of my face. Totally disappointed!
Effective but non-irritating
from New Mexico
I got a sample of this with a re-purchase of my favorite PC serum. My skin had been looking dull (hence my decision to re-purchase the serum), and really needed something extra. In addition to dullness, my pores were looking larger than usual in the t-zone and I was feeling like I had texture issues. I used this one night and woke up the next day to a much-improved texture and smaller pores. This product did what it claimed to do. I have sensitive skin but I experienced absolutely no irritation and no redness. I also have dry skin, and after application, my skin felt supple and moisturized. I usually experience angry, tight skin post-AHA use, but this is really gentle enough to use daily, while still being effective enough to make a difference. I plan to purchase the full size in the near future.
Makes me red
from Orange, ca
I have supersensitive skin and this product made my skin really red but it did plump my fine lines, it's a shame that I wasn't able to use this because I have really dry skin and it looks nice at the beginning but then my face started to get more red and I looked older so I had to stop using it . :(Loved the smell kinda fruity maybe?
Bad reaction - red bumps all over my face!

I use a number of PC products and am more than pleased with most that I've tried. I got a free sample of the 5% AHA treatment with my last order and thought I'd give it a try. I put it on before bed and woke with what looked like red goosebumps all over my face. My face ached for two days, and it took two weeks for the bumps to completely clear and my face to get back to normal. I've never had this reaction to anything I've put on my skin before. I've always used BHA products without issues. No plans to try AHA again after this experience.
My face loves this. Strong enough to make a difference I can feel, but balanced such that I get no irritation whatsoever. Worth every penny.
I saw the difference after 2 weeks

About Me 50's, Mid Color Complexion, Normal Skin
I decided to give this a try to improve my enlarged pores on my nose and generally give my complexion a "lift". From the start I liked the color and scent of the product. I use it after cleansing and before moisturizing. I had recently scarred my self (laceration) and was feeling down about the color of the scar. Anyway, two weeks in and I can see and feel the difference. My skin tone is more even and the pores on my nose are smaller and look, well, cleaner. I will continue to use it on the scar - I'm not sure if it will fade it or even it out, but it isn't making it worse and because the rest of my skin has improved so much, the scar is starting to worry me less. I love this product and will continue to use it.
Sensitive Eye Area, Good Everywhere else
I have very sensitive skin around my eyes (on the sides and underneath) and this caused that area to tingle/burn. Everywhere else on my skin seemed to do as the label claims but I won't repurchase because I see good results with the PC BHA exfoliant daily.
