Buy a sample before splurging on the full-size!

Comments about 2% BHA Gel - 3.3 oz:
It's easier to apply with your fingers than a liquid BHA, but the gel texture is just so sticky, greasy, and nonabsorbent that I can't possibly wear it under makeup. If I try to blend out my foundation, the layers of skincare underneath pills and rolls up, all because of this. I'd much rather use Paula's Choice liquid BHA.I give an extra star because, as a BHA, it is an effective product. It's just not for daytime use.Luckily, I bought this in a sample packet so I know I won't be buying the full-size product. I highly recommend interested buyers do the same.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I have used this product as well as the BHA liquid and I, by far, prefer the gel. This does leave a semi-tacky residue on the face but it's perfect for clearing out pores and reducing congestion. It absolutely works. That's why I'm repurchasing. I didn't notice as much of a different with the liquid BHA.

Not good for aging skin
from Portland, OR
I liked the gel the first couple days, then the slight wrinkles around my mouth multiplied and my skin became dry. The BHA is too strong for dry, post-menopause skin.

I upgraded to this product from the Calm 1% BHA, which was not strong enough for me. This product has made a noticeable difference in my skin texture in 48 hours. I am shocked at how smooth my face feels! I have rosacea with combination skin and I don't find this drying or irritating.
Worth the money!
About Me Acne Prone
Ive used this product nightly for a year now (theres probably about a month or month and a half left). When I started using it my skin was really textured and I had breakouts almost all of the time. Now almost all of the texture on my skin is gone, I don't have breakouts nearly as often and plus my skin is a lot more radiant. I started to see results in about 2 weeks. I really like the gel texture, it's a lot nicer to rub into the skin than a liquid would be, and I don't ever accidentally spill any, like I might with a liquid. I use this at night after I double cleanse my skin, wait 20 minutes and then put on a moisturizer. This is one of my favorite beauty/hygiene products and I'm definitely repurchasing! It opened my eyes up to paulas choice and I will probably try other of her products now!
Great for Daily Use
I alternate between this and BHA-9 and my skin stays so clear! It isn't as effective at removing milia or redness as BHA-9, but it helps keep acne at bay. I also use this on my scalp as needed (I am allergic to a lot of hair products, which can cause issues on my scalp). I massage it into my scalp after a shower, before bed. It can leave a greasy feel/texture behind so I don't use it in the morning, but at night it helps a lot!

It didn't work for me
By Jim from SOCAL

I have an oily t-zone (with enlarged pores on the nose) so I thought this could help replace my physical scrub and address my pores at the same time.I like the texture and my nighttime routine was simple enough: wash my face and apply this gel and go to sleep.TOO WEAK: Unfortunately, this formula wasn't strong enough for my skin. My forehead and nose were still crusty even though I was using this on a nightly basis.CAUSED REDNESS: I don't believe this is anti-inflammatory as I had red skin each morning. Perhaps that's just my skin but I had assumed this would be a gentler option versus AHA.INEFFECTIVE: Overall, I think I need something stronger. I got acne over the course of 3 months even though BHA should prevent it from happening. I just think this wasn't a strong enough product. Furthermore, this product can't shrink pores if the reason they're enlarged is because you have oily skin.Overall, I think AHA is probably the better option for those looking to replace a physical scrub.

Worked after one use!
I got the sample size of this with an order from PC. Used it at nite after washing and when I looked in the mirror in the morning my pores looked smaller, used again the next nite and noticed the same thing. It is sticky when you put it on and that does go away. It is SO RARE to find a product that actually does what it says. I have thrown away so much money believing companies claims that their products work!

A well formulated product
from California, USA
This product has given me great results in smoothing out the texture of my skin and seriously reducing the appearance of my pores, I'm assuming by dissolving oils and makeup that were stuck in there. I have combination skin that's oily mostly on my nose and some parts of my forehead. I had struggled for a long time with small, sometimes red bumps on my forehead and occasionally cheeks that were probably just really clogged pores that would turn into pimples occasionally. I felt like I was always battling with my skin just to keep it under control. I used a lot of cheap drugstore salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide products that would give me results for a few days then my skin woes would return. The overall texture and tone of my skin was uneven and dull. I've been using this BHA gel now for a little over a week and am very pleasantly surprised by the results, especially so soon after starting use of the product. I apply it at night after I wash my face and then let the gel dry/soak in, then add my moisturizer. It is a bit drying, but some good moisturizer or facial oil afterwards takes care of that. I don't think using it during the day would be that great, because my skin is still kind of shiny after the gel soaks in. But it would be doable probably. I do think my skin went through a bit of an adjustment period, like a day or two, because I got a couple of funny pimples that are a little different than the ones I usually get, but I was also just starting my period so it's possible that the root cause was hormones. Either way, my skin is uber smooth and I can barely even make out the pores on my nose/cheeks anymore, and the texture of the skin on my forehead is the smoothest I've seen it in years. This product has also really allowed me to pare down my skin care routine. Overall I'm super pleased with the results.
