A skin saver
from Denver, CO
About Me Beauty Expert
Comments about CALM Repairing Serum - 1 oz:
This saved me recently when I had a reaction to a new product that left it very dry, rough, and sensitized. This didn't help with the roughness, but it got my skin back to being able to use my usual AHA and BHA without discomfort. The lightweight texture doesn't seem to add any moisture on it's own, but the base of water, glycerine, hyaluronic acid does hydrate very will. I will definitely repurchase this if I have another bad reaction, or to use in conjunction with a particularly strong retinol or other active ingredient.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great after dermaplaning!
from Mequon, WI
About Me Beauty Conscious
I get dermaplaned professionally every 4 weeks but I was breaking out afterwards with the product my esthetician was using afterwards. I asked her to skip her product and use this and the results are incredible. She puts it on after and when I get home I do one more layer. Any redness is gone within hours instead of days (I'm very sensitive) and my skin just glows. I like to mix just a drop with my PC Calm Redness Relief moisturizer at night after cleansing (PC Moisture Boost) and Toning (Resist Light toner). A half hour later I do my Retin A Micro. During the day I use the Calm Redness Relief with SPF during the day. I am almost 50 and am enjoying best skin of my life. Thank you, Paula!
I got this to mix with the Retinol Booster, but Ive been dealing with the aftermath of putting niacinamide on my face (whyyyyy can't my skin like it?! ugh) and was holding off on playing with the retinol. Meanwhile, in an attempt to clear up the aforementioned breakout, i went a bit overboard on acids and ended up shedding skin like a reptile, while still enjoying several painfully enflamed spots. Desperate for help, I cracked open the Calm serum and man, what a difference. Will it work miracles? Doubtful. But I won't be without it in future, either. It could definitely play better under makeup/ heavier moisturizers. As others have said, it smells a bit. But it's worth it to calm and smooth an angry face.
Service and delivery comments:
PC customer service is everything.
from Toronto, ON
While I don't find this serum horrible, I just don't find it anything special. I bought it, along with the SPF, face wash and toner to help mild redness and they didn't do anything for it. I also have dry skin and I didn't find this overly hydrating. I will try a different PC serum once I run out
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Thank god I got a sample before buying

About Me Skin Care Professional
I will preface this by saying I don't usually pay attention to the smell of skincare products. I prefer fragrance free products that are effective- smell is not a significant contributing factor in whether or not I purchase a product. But, WOW does this smell like feet. I even got a different sample packet hoping my first one was just some kind of error. Nope. Feet. Feet Feet Feet. I'm really disappointed! I love the CALM toner and I was hoping this serum could replace the Drunk Elephant HydraGel in my routine but I guess not. I'm hoping Paula's Choice can reformulate or include some colloidal oatmeal or something that doesn't compromise the efficacy of the product but somehow masks this essence of foot smell. Other than the smell the serum seemed to perform okay. I've only used it on 2 separate (traumatic) occasions so I can't attest to the long term performance of the product.
As always prompt and safe delivery.

Perfect for super-sensitive, Extreme Combination skin :-)

About Me Beauty Expert, Disabled, so Easy Skincare Routine is a Plus
OMG, I LOVE this serum!!!! :-)I WAS using the Resist Intensive Wrinle-Repair Retinol Serum, but it was too emollient for my Extremely Oily forehead, nose, and chin. When the new CALM line came out, I thought that I'd give this serum a try, since it sounded less emollient, and since I have Rosacea.WHOAH! In just a couple of days, my Extremely Dry, often flakey cheeks felt like silk, were a lot less red, and had ZERO flakiness; while my Extremely Oily "T Zone" was smoother, and not at ALL made more Oily by this CALM Repairing Serum!!! :-) :-) :-)I use it every morning, before I use the Skin Balancing Ultra-Sheer Daily Defense...SPF 30 (which is PERFECT for my entire face, now that the new formula is without its prior, could-be-irritating-to-extremely-sensitive-Skin ingredient :-) ), as the CALM sunscreen is too emollient for my Extremely Oily T-Zone;and every night, when, if I have enough energy, I also use the CALM 1% BHA under my eyes, in my eyebrows, and on the larger-pore, next-to-my-nose section of my rosacea cheeks; RESIST 5% AHA on the rest of my rosacea cheeks; and RESIST 2% BHA (alternated w the 9% BHA) on my Extremely Oily T-Zone :-)

Perfect for applying after removing facial hair!!!
from Ventura, CA
I used this product up almost completely, and honestly didn't have any overwhelming feelings about it... It was nice going on, sank it easily, didn't disturb other skin care products or my makeup, but I also didn't feel like it did anything to improve the redness in my skin. I wasn't sure it was doing much of anything until it came time for me to do my monthly depilatory face cream hair removal around my mouth and chin. Usually after wiping off the hair remover product my skin is left red and irritated for days, but it's better than having a mustache. I decided to put this product on and within minutes the inflammation and redness was significantly reduced. I applied three or four thin layers, allowing each layer to fully soak in. It took away all the irritation!! Pretty amazing. I'm going to purchase another one to have on hand for my hair removal days, or if I happen to get a little red from the sun. I've never had anything work so well on red, inflamed, irritated skin after hair removal! If you are someone who has ultra sensitive skin like mine, and are left blistered and red for days after waxing, threading, even tweezing! You should try applying this, it made such a huge difference.
Paula's Choice is hands down the best company to purchase from on the Internet. The shipping is lightning fast. The products are shipped in appropriately sized packages, where there isn't a massive excess of packaging. I'm always extremely satisfied with my purchases. There is a reason I've been a long time PC girl, the customer service is unlike any other company I have come across.
Lovely serum, just not sold on it.
from Syracuse, NY
I've used three bottles of this serum, and I'm just not sure how I feel about the results, or lack of rather. I absolutely love how lightweight and SILKY smooth the texture of this serum is. It feels refreshing to apply, it sinks right into the skin, and just feels so silky soft. I know this is formulated with amazing, skin beneficial ingredients... but I still feel myself hesitating every time I go to repurchase when I run out. I haven't noticed tremendous results with reduction of skin sensitivity or redness in my facial and neck skin. I still have redness after applying this morning and evening. I combine this product with the Resist Brightening Essence morning and evening. Maybe it's time to sheet shopping for another Paula's Choice antioxidant serum.
Delivery is always awesome. My products arrive quickly, packaged nicely.

Hate the container
By Scarlett 90210
This product appears effective as a serum, no effect on redness and the container does not allow you to determine how much to use; it pumps out the same amount every time. I much prefer the serums in tubes.
