HATE the new packaging of a great product
By Suz deMello
from Sacramento CA
Comments about RESIST Retinol Serum - 1 oz:
I'd rate this product 5 stars (or more if I could) except that this company has changed the packaging to the detriment of customers. Instead of the flexible plastic tube it used to come in, it's now in a hard plastic dispenser, which makes it impossible to get all the (very expensive) serum out of the container. BOO!!!! HISS!!!!
Customer Service Response: Hello, and thank you for contacting us! These are actually two different products. The product shown in the picture that you sent is our RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum (which is still available in the same packaging), while the product that you received is our RESIST Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Serum With Retinol. If you would like to exchange this product, just contact our Client Services team!

Favorite product ever!

About Me Minimalist
I am 55, post-menopausal, with very dry skin now. It took me about a month to notice the difference this and the exfoliant were having together. Deep lines where my chins start were noticeably diminished. Another month and they had almost disappeared. I use the Resist line because it feels so good and works so well for me with the Intensive Repair Cream. People I work with are always surprised when they find out how old I am, usually guessing 10-15 years younger. I'm totally comfortable with my age, but delighted my skin doesn't show it ; )
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

A must have!
from Charlottesville, VA
I have just ordered my 4th bottle of this serum. Some people have complained about it being "oily." Hey! I know what oily skin feels and looks like; I have had oily skin all my life up until a year or so ago. This serum is a very, very light "oil" that my skin absorbs within a few minutes. After using this, my skin feels nourished and smooth. Although I am 60, I have very few fine lines and I can tell this is improving my skin. Love this stuff!

I have been using Paula's Choice products for two years now. This resist retinol serum is part of my morning and night routine. It is fantastic. It has significantly reduced my pores - and I have had large pore issues since I was a teenager. It does go on with a rather thickish shine but that goes away in minutes or when you put the sunscreen on over it. It does not make my face shine and I have a tendency towards oily skin. I have never had a problem with the pump. In fact it twists closed and I have taken it on many airplane trips without any leakage. This is by far my favorite Paula's choice product for retinol reducing pores and wrinkles and making my skin soft.

About Me Beauty Conscious
I bought this sometime ago and began using it. At first when I had some acne appear, I didn't think it was from the use of this but when I stopped using it the acne disappeared. Very disappointing. I should have returned since it is so pricey.ca

I've been using PC products since I turned 50, 12 years ago. I credit her products with keeping my skin looking smooth and relatively unlined in spite of my years.

Perfect balance for aging skin
from New England
I was hesitant to use this product as it is heavier than I normally use and I am prone to acne. But now that I'm over 60, I need a bit more moisture in my retinol treatments and this is the perfect balance -- not too heavy, and absorbs quickly. Younger people with serious acne might not want to use this due to the added moisturizer, but for me it's ideal, especially with the brightening vitamins added. I've tried prescription Retin-A from my dermatologist, which comes in an emollient, petroleum jelly-type base (super heavy, to offset the irirritants.) Paula's Retinol is much more gentle, and really quite as effective, IMHO. I usually find that retinol helps control acne -- after all, Retin-A was originally an anti-acne RX.

Great Product | Deplorable Packaging
By Marja M.
from Alameda, CA
I use the product on a daily basis, at nighttime.A few drops are all that's needed to cover my face. Apply after cleansing & toning, before moisturizing. It softens my skin, works on skin discoloration and softens fine lines and wrinkles. What's not so great is the packaging itself. I've had two bottles break on me; specifically the pumping mechanism. And, because the product must be in an airtight container, there's no salvaging the remaining product.

caused acne breakouts on me
from Atlanta, GA
Used this product for several months before I realized that it was causing my skin to break out on my cheeks, temples, forehead, and chin. I phased the product in because it contains retinol which can cause my skin irritation and dryness. I was very careful to avoid irritation, but it never dawned on me that this product would cause breakouts. I'm confident that the breakouts are not the result of purging because the acne increased over time and is going away now that I've stop using the product.
