    Clarity
    • This serum is so light and moisturizing. I simply can't get enough! For me, it has helped my redness and skin clarity. You may not be able to notice right away, but after not using this product for a few days my face looked so dull and lackluster, so it has obviously been working. I love that I can add antioxidants to my skin care regimen to help protect and repair my skin. A must have!!

    I had high hopes!
    • I REALLY wanted to love this product, but I think it's contributing to my break outs. I use mostly PC products and when I incorporated this and the Skin Balancing Cleanser in my routine my face went nuts. This does feel very soothing going on though! It's worth a try if you don't have acne or if your acne is under control.

    I'm in Love
    • I didn't think I needed a serum (I'm only 24) but I decided I should give it a try since my skin gets really dry in the winter plus I was starting a BHA treatment which I figured would be even more drying. I mix a few drops in with my moisturizer and it keeps my dry skin soft and supple. I think I'm gonna try some of the other serums too just out of curiosity, but this is amazing!

    Not a good fit
    • I've used PC for many years and they've worked wonders for my acne-prone skin, so I had high hopes for this serum. I've used it two times now (roughly a year apart) for a month or more each time, and while it made my skin look soft, smooth and glowy initially, it also made my face an oil slick by midday and broke me out something fierce. It also caused red, painful, scaly patches on my cheeks and neck (niacinimide?). It's just nit for me, I guess. Hoping for better luck with the SB serum.

    Love this under moisturizer
    • One of my favorites, it's not greasy at all, on contrary it's very matte which i don't mind because i do apply moisturizer over it. I can't really tell if it does anything because I'm still very young but i will continue to repurchase this.

My skin hated this. First ever fail for my skin from PC
    • I'm sure that for many this serum does wonders, as does most of Paula's Choice products tend to do! However, this was not the case for my skin. This serum made me breakout...BAD. I stopped using for two weeks and the breakouts started to heal and diminish. This was my very first fail from Paula's Choice, I use PC exclusively as my only skincare but this was just not the serum for me.

    Oompa Loompa
    • This leaves my face bright yellow wherever I apply it. One of my coworkers asked me if I had a bruise on my face (and I even wore foundation that day so that's how strong the yellow colour is)! Would not recommend for pale skinned folks unfortunately. I can only wear this at night time so not sure if I'm reaping the full benefits. :(

Hi, and thank you for sharing your comments! The yellow issue was the result of an antioxidant we used that could appear yellow on skin (especially if it is very fair, and titanium dioxide-based products were used immediately after the serum was applied). We have reduced the amount of that antioxidant so that the formula is nearly clear now - we invite you to try out the reformulated version when you are done with your current tube!

    Good for Dry Skin too!
    • This is labeled for oily skin, but I have dry skin and love this stuff. This may sound crazy, but I noticed a difference after the first use. Since my skin is dry, sometimes it looks like I have wrinkles where I don't, if that makes sense. Right after I applied this, even before moisturizing, those dry wrinkles disappeared. I have been using this with the Moisture Boost cream, and had great results. Also, I am very fair skinned, and have not had the orange cast issue others have mentioned.

Light weight moisturizer for oily skins
    • Instead of using this as a serum, and layer too many products on my skin, I use this as a light weight moisturizer. It gives just the right amount of moisture to my extremely oily skin. This serum is also very good for people with acne, as it contains (probably 1%) resveratrol, niacinamide and EGCG, which all have a good amount of researches indicating their efficacy at helping different forms of acne.

    Great serum for oily skin
    • Great weightless antioxidant serum for oily skin. I apply this morning and night with C15 resist serum. You probably won't see an radical results from this product, but it is still an excellent addition to my daily skin care ritual. The results are more long term. I definitely recommend.

    Not sure
    • Doesn't break me out like Skin Recovery did, but I haven't really noticed any improvement. I mix it with a moisturizer at night. I also wonder about the packaging, aren't antioxidants sensitive to air exposure? The tube rebounds when you squeeze it, sucking in outside air. I try to be careful and keep it squeezed while I put the cap back on to prevent that.

Love the texture of this serum, but it turns me yellow!!!
    • I really like how this serum feels on the skin, very lightweight and refreshing. However, it LITERALLY turns my skin yellow!! It doesn't matter if I mix it with another Paula's Choice product, the yellow just isn't so bright! Is it possible for whatever ingredient that stains my skin yellow to be taken out? Surely other pale skinned people must be having this problem! I would give it 5 stars if not for this problem!

    Good for combination/sensitive skin
    • This serum has a nice consistency that is suitable for combination/oily skin, and it calms down my sensitive skin nicely. It seems to be reducing my redness as well. As others have mentioned, it does have a yellow tint, which causes some discoloration along my hair line and eyebrows, which means I can only use it at night, which is a bummer. Still, I love it! I wish Paulaschoice would make an antioxidant serum with less silicones though, a gel similar to the MD formulations antioxidant gel!

    Just okay!
    • Nice light texture which is good for oily/combo skin. My sensitive skin did not react to it. But that's where the good news ends. It didn't hurt my skin but neither did I see any benefits. I didn't see improvements to the texture or radiance. Perhaps it's protecting it from damage but I'm looking for more than just that.

    Love it!
    • I use this stuff twice a day, once in the morning under my sunscreen and paired with the C15 Super Booster at night. The difference it has made in the overall health of my skin is amazing! I have never been more pleased with a skincare product. It truly does not make my skin extra oily during the day, which is rare for me when it comes to using daytime moisturizers or serums. It hydrates just the perfect amount and helps heal any post breakout redness if I get extra stressed or hormonal.

    • The absolute best serum ever. I'm a retin a user and I use this serum twice daily. I wake up looking really well rested and radiant. To be honest I just started using this at nite. I 've been using it for 3 nites after retin a and I can see immediate results. My skin is brighter and younger looking. I will always repurchase.

    • I'm sure this would be great for some people, if find the serum itself quite good, but it's too runny and not moisturizing enough for my weirdly dry/oily skin. I prefer a thicker serum with the vitamin C boost.

    My go-to serum! Fave!
    • I found that I was going a little crazy with moisture. I have combo skin that is on the dry side, so I was choosing products that were all highly moisturizing. It was overkill. So I tried this, and found it to be the perfect solution - all the benefits of using an antioxidant serum without adding another source of rich moisture. It has a light, silky feel, and absorbs quickly. My favorite serum by far!

    Great for Extreme Combo Skin
    • Keeps my skin soft, flake-free and helps decrease pore size and oil in my T-zone. I use with the skin balancing regimen. Adds a little more moisture than the super mattifying serum so it works better for my entire face. I add a few drops of Super C, like others, to get that extra softening, clearing boost. Thanks for another awesome product!

Detailed instructions on how/when to apply your Paula's Choice products can be found in our How to Put Together Your Own Skincare Routine article.

How does Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum differ from the other Antioxidant Concentrates that Paula's Choice offers?

Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum is our only water-based serum (our other serums are silicone-based), and it is the lightest serum in the Resist line. Its blend of potent antioxidants, skin-repairing, and cell-communicating ingredients help fight multiple signs of aging without feeling slick, greasy, or heavy on combination to oily skin. Because oily skin tends to also have enlarged pores, this serum was formulated with ingredients that help normalize pore function. It also contains anti-irritants which reduce redness from acne and acne marks. This serum is one of two Paula offers that does not contain retinol. Some people with oily skin cannot tolerate retinol, making Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum a great alternative.

Every Paula's Choice serum contains an effective blend of antioxidants, skin-repairing ingredients, and cell-communicating ingredients to restore skin and significantly reduce wrinkles, increase collagen production, and improve skin color. You will be getting anti-aging benefits regardless of which one you choose! Select the best serum for you based on your skin type and chief concerns, plus texture preference.

How does Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Serum differ from Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum? Is one better for anti-aging?

The chief difference is that the Skin Balancing serum contains retinol and sets to a powder-like matte finish. Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum is more hydrating yet incredibly light. As part of the Resist line, it also contains a greater array of repairing and cell-communicating ingredients designed to help oily skin fight multiple signs of aging. Both serums contain an array of proven anti-aging ingredients. If you have oily or combination skin you may wish to use both serums: one in the morning and the other at night. Or, you may simply prefer the texture and finish of one over the other. Either way, your skin will start looking and acting younger, and enlarged pores will be less evident.

Can Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum be used around the eyes?

Yes. All Paula’s Choice serums (and moisturizers) can and should be applied around the eyes, too. The same statement also applies to the neck and chest, two areas prone to showing signs of sun damage and aging.

How would I use Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Shine Stopper Instant Matte Finish?

After cleansing, toning, and exfoliating with the Paula's Choice products appropriate for your skin type, apply Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum to your entire face (including around the eyes) and neck. Follow with one of our lightweight moisturizers (if needed) and finish with Shine Stopper Instant Matte Finish, which can be dabbed all over or just where your skin is especially oily. If desired, proceed with makeup application. Shine Stopper may also be dabbed on over your foundation.

Can I use Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with my Clear routine?

Yes! This serum's benefits are excellent for those with acne who are also struggling with signs of aging and sun damage. Apply the serum after your 3-step Clear routine, and follow with a product rated SPF 15 or greater (those with oily skin and acne still need sun protection).

Can I use Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator?

Yes. As with all of our daily skincare routines, we recommend applying the serum before your moisturizer. In this case, you'd apply Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum after the exfoliant step, and follow with Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator.

How would I use Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with the Resist Retinol Serum? Is it OK to use both?

It is perfectly fine to use both serums. We recommend either alternating days (using one serum morning and evening one day, then switch) or using Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum as your daytime serum and Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum as your nighttime serum, either alone or followed with the Paula's Choice moisturizer appropriate for your skin type and concerns.

Is Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Serum suitable for those with rosacea?

Yes, particularly if you have rosacea plus oily skin or oily areas. The antioxidants and anti-irritants in this serum are wonderfully soothing for rosacea-affected skin.

Why does this serum contain hyaluronic acid but your other products contain sodium hyaluronate? Is one better than the other?

First, both of these ingredients are skin-repairing ingredients that are part of skin’s intercellular matrix. These ingredients benefit all skin types and in fact have essentially identical functions. We used pure hyaluronic acid in this serum because of customer requests and the fact that more people are familiar with the term hyaluronic acid than sodium hyaluronate. Sodium hyaluronate is the salt form of hyaluronic acid. It is easier and less expensive to produce compared to hyaluronic acid. But regardless of cost, your skin will benefit greatly from either ingredient.

At what point after my laser and/or peel procedure can I begin using my serum again?

First, we urge you to follow the post-procedure instructions your doctor or nurse provided. If nothing was mentioned about when to resume use of a serum, please contact the doctor's office where you had the procedure done. Otherwise, our general advice is to begin using your serum again as soon as possible. All of our serums contain skin-repairing, anti-inflammatory, and replenishing ingredients that calm reddened skin and help enhance the healing process. Make sure you're also protecting your "new" skin every day with a product rated SPF 15 or greater.
