    Glowy, Radiant Skin
    • I'm shocked to see all these reviews saying they got breakouts form this. The formula is nearly weightless and glides on. I've used it for several months, this in conjunction with several other PC products has completely stopped my breakouts. I used to get acne all the time but I've only had maybe 3-4 zits in the last 6 months thanks to PC's products including this amazing serum. I'm 25 with extreme combination skin and I will not be without this serum again.

    Try This First
    • If you've never tried Paula's Choice products before, try this first. Guaranteed, you'll be convinced it's the best skin care line available. I've been a customer for over ten years, and wouldn't use anything but Paula's Choice on my skin. I'm nearly 70 years old, and no one believes it. Paula's Choice is the BEST !!

    Perfect for my oily skin
    • Mixing this serum with the 15% vitamin C booster has turned out to be the best thing that has ever happened to my skin. I have large pores and oily skin. This product, along with the vitamin C booster, leaves my skin glowing and clear with noticeably less oil build up during the day.

    Breakouts, anyone?
    • I've experienced breakouts from using this serum. I really wished it worked on my oily, acne prone skin. However, this caused breakouts and my skin felt dry after using it. If I could, I would like to see fewer silicones and film-formers in the product. Also, some people break out from tocopherols so maybe an alternative like tocopherol acetate would reduce the risk for breakouts. I'd be much happier if this would truly be a water based serum with little to no occlusive ingredients.

    Breakouts
    • Had been using the Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Serum but decided to try this Resist Serum as it sounded like it would address all of my skin concerns. Used it twice and started breaking out all over my face. Also noticed a burning sensation that has lingered even after I stopped using it. I'm 50 years old with sensitive and oily skin so always disappointing to develop breakouts at my age.

    Burned!
    • I love Paula's Chioce products and I had never tried a serum so based on the reviews I decided to try this one. When I put it on my under eye area and down my cheeks, I felt a really hot sensation, like the serum was heated up. Then after about a minute, my face was on fire. It felt so burned and was extremely red. It going to take a while for me to get my skin back to the way it was. This product is definitely not a winner in my books, I've never experienced something this bad before.

    favorite serum! lightweight & lovely
    • This is my favorite serum! Love the lightweight texture & quick absorption. Perfect for my combination skin that leans toward the oily side with a few dry patches around my nose and corners of the mouth. Acne prone and mild rosacea. I love that I can use it twice a day and receive multiple benefits without needing to worry about alternating it in. Layers well! I have mostly great skin now thanks to PC, and this is one of my staples. Have repurchased multiple times & will continue to do so!

    • This serum is lovely and light - my combination skin drinks it in immediately (I have a slightly oily t-zone and slightly dry/normal cheeks). It's weightless and works great under makeup. I've already repurchased so I don't run out!

    • This product makes my skin SO happy! Within the first use, my acne scars were less red, my skin looked smoother and felt like it was glowing. I'm really happy that I can use it around my eyes, too. Each time I use it, my skin looks even better. I can't imagine ever NOT using this product again!

    • I love this smooth silky serum and it's my fave serum. I tried sr and the resist for dry skin but I didn't like their textures. I have dry sensitive skin and I feel it moisturizes better, esp under lotion/cream. I love it so much I stocked up:) Thanks Paula and research team!!!

    • Just repurchased, and I have to say this is by far one of the best products I've used for my skin. It instantly sinks in, and leaves your face feeling refreshed. All the benefits of a great antioxidant serum, without any heaviness or greasy feeling! I get a great complexion from this, and it is absolutely perfect for my combination skin. Helps with my breakouts too!

    The Best
    • Have happily used this serum for months now. This was the only additional PC product I added to my skin care, 95% of which is PC products. Have oily t-zone and signs of aging elsewhere. Since adding this, I use less foundation and acquaintances have asked if I had a recent vacation because skin looks brighter. Love this product-texture, effects, feeling on the skin. Keep up the great work, Paula's Choice team!

    • At first it was great, gave me glowing results but then I started breaking out - badly! I have never had such large breakouts until trying this product. Further to that, any bit of glow or improvement I had seen initially in my skin also went away - results were temporary? I won't be repurchasing!

    Silky skin
    • I ordered this a while ago, then forgot it in the back my medicine cabinet. My dermatologist started me on Retin-A cream a few months back, which works very well but was making my face super flaky. I read Paula's info about pairing PC skincare with retinoids and voila- by layering this under my Rx cream, no more flakes. In fact, my skin is glowing even with the Chicago cold, dry, winter air. I will not forget this again- use it as my primer underneath my cc cream, too. Good stuff!

Broke me out like no mother!
    • My 1st order of PC was this serum, the Vita C, & the 2% BHA lotion. I started with the Vita C (great results) until it ran out & started using this serum & the BHA together - and I started breaking out. At first I thought it was my pillowcases, phone, makeup brushes, or my diet, but even when I cleaned all the bacteria playground hotspots & cleaned up my diet, the culprit was the serum! I pin it on the large # of "slip agents" high up in the ingredients! This has been demoted to my neck & hands

    wanted to love
    • I LOVE the entire resist line (for normal/oily/combo skin) and my skin has looked great using the cleanser, 2% bha and day/evening moisturizers. I wanted to add a serum to do a little more for wrinkles and naturally went with the resist ultra light serum. Unfortunately it made me breakout! I even stopped using for two weeks and started again to be sure and indeed I broke out again.

    Works For My Oily Skin
    • I have oily skin, and this is another one of PC products that I really like. It goes on silky smooth, not greasy, and it's safe to use around the eye area. I like to use this one at night along with PC Vitamin C Serum. I just discovered PC a few short months ago when I was researching cosmetic ingredients. I am pleasantly surprised at how well my sensitive skin is doing with various PC products such as this serum. Would purchase again.

    favorite of PC serums
    • Ive tried the skin balancing and the skin recovery...did not like the texture of those though. This one is perfect if you have combo skin. The skin balancing is a silicone texture, and the skin recovery is more of an oil-like texture (which some people like) but this one is very silky and light feeling. It did not break me out. I do not have major acne problems but I do breakout sometimes still. So order samples of all the serums first. you can mix in retinol from another prod if you also want

    It's Okay.
    • I almost finished a bottle - It is okay. I had no breaks-out or any other problems while using this product. I noticed that some people had break-out problems - I heard that hyaluronic acid might cause some skin irritation to some people, so I recommend trying samples first before ordering a full-size product. Although it has been fine product, I'm going back to skin balancing antioxidant serum with retinole, which worked smoother and more effectively -I have oily and complex skin type.

    Superior Texture
    • I love, love, love the texture of this serum: it sinks right in (no yellow cast on my very pale skin). I can't say what it does or doesn't do: I understand the need for antioxidants and trust that these are potent. It's part of my overall skin-care routine, so what I can say is that it works perfectly under my SPF and make-up in the morning. My only wish is that it came in a bigger tube: it goes quickly and a tube lasts me about 6 weeks. I'm on my 5th or 6th, so I think that's some testimony.

Detailed instructions on how/when to apply your Paula's Choice products can be found in our How to Put Together Your Own Skincare Routine article.

How does Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum differ from the other Antioxidant Concentrates that Paula's Choice offers?

Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum is our only water-based serum (our other serums are silicone-based), and it is the lightest serum in the Resist line. Its blend of potent antioxidants, skin-repairing, and cell-communicating ingredients help fight multiple signs of aging without feeling slick, greasy, or heavy on combination to oily skin. Because oily skin tends to also have enlarged pores, this serum was formulated with ingredients that help normalize pore function. It also contains anti-irritants which reduce redness from acne and acne marks. This serum is one of two Paula offers that does not contain retinol. Some people with oily skin cannot tolerate retinol, making Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum a great alternative.

Every Paula's Choice serum contains an effective blend of antioxidants, skin-repairing ingredients, and cell-communicating ingredients to restore skin and significantly reduce wrinkles, increase collagen production, and improve skin color. You will be getting anti-aging benefits regardless of which one you choose! Select the best serum for you based on your skin type and chief concerns, plus texture preference.

How does Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Serum differ from Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum? Is one better for anti-aging?

The chief difference is that the Skin Balancing serum contains retinol and sets to a powder-like matte finish. Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum is more hydrating yet incredibly light. As part of the Resist line, it also contains a greater array of repairing and cell-communicating ingredients designed to help oily skin fight multiple signs of aging. Both serums contain an array of proven anti-aging ingredients. If you have oily or combination skin you may wish to use both serums: one in the morning and the other at night. Or, you may simply prefer the texture and finish of one over the other. Either way, your skin will start looking and acting younger, and enlarged pores will be less evident.

Can Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum be used around the eyes?

Yes. All Paula’s Choice serums (and moisturizers) can and should be applied around the eyes, too. The same statement also applies to the neck and chest, two areas prone to showing signs of sun damage and aging.

How would I use Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Shine Stopper Instant Matte Finish?

After cleansing, toning, and exfoliating with the Paula's Choice products appropriate for your skin type, apply Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum to your entire face (including around the eyes) and neck. Follow with one of our lightweight moisturizers (if needed) and finish with Shine Stopper Instant Matte Finish, which can be dabbed all over or just where your skin is especially oily. If desired, proceed with makeup application. Shine Stopper may also be dabbed on over your foundation.

Can I use Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with my Clear routine?

Yes! This serum's benefits are excellent for those with acne who are also struggling with signs of aging and sun damage. Apply the serum after your 3-step Clear routine, and follow with a product rated SPF 15 or greater (those with oily skin and acne still need sun protection).

Can I use Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator?

Yes. As with all of our daily skincare routines, we recommend applying the serum before your moisturizer. In this case, you'd apply Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum after the exfoliant step, and follow with Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator.

How would I use Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with the Resist Retinol Serum? Is it OK to use both?

It is perfectly fine to use both serums. We recommend either alternating days (using one serum morning and evening one day, then switch) or using Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum as your daytime serum and Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum as your nighttime serum, either alone or followed with the Paula's Choice moisturizer appropriate for your skin type and concerns.

Is Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Serum suitable for those with rosacea?

Yes, particularly if you have rosacea plus oily skin or oily areas. The antioxidants and anti-irritants in this serum are wonderfully soothing for rosacea-affected skin.

Why does this serum contain hyaluronic acid but your other products contain sodium hyaluronate? Is one better than the other?

First, both of these ingredients are skin-repairing ingredients that are part of skin’s intercellular matrix. These ingredients benefit all skin types and in fact have essentially identical functions. We used pure hyaluronic acid in this serum because of customer requests and the fact that more people are familiar with the term hyaluronic acid than sodium hyaluronate. Sodium hyaluronate is the salt form of hyaluronic acid. It is easier and less expensive to produce compared to hyaluronic acid. But regardless of cost, your skin will benefit greatly from either ingredient.

At what point after my laser and/or peel procedure can I begin using my serum again?

First, we urge you to follow the post-procedure instructions your doctor or nurse provided. If nothing was mentioned about when to resume use of a serum, please contact the doctor's office where you had the procedure done. Otherwise, our general advice is to begin using your serum again as soon as possible. All of our serums contain skin-repairing, anti-inflammatory, and replenishing ingredients that calm reddened skin and help enhance the healing process. Make sure you're also protecting your "new" skin every day with a product rated SPF 15 or greater.
