About Me Beauty Expert
Comments about SKIN RECOVERY Antioxidant Serum with Retinol - 1 oz:
I use this serum after a strong exfoliant treatment (e.g. the morning after a 10% AHA treatment). It's a top-notch serum. It absorbs quickly and easily into the skin, leaving no oily residue (I can apply makeup right on top). I can't say I've noticed a reduction in fine lines or anything in over a year's worth of use several times per week, and I don't have sun spots so I can't offer any reviews there, but it is moisturizing. I love to use it under my eyes, and since I've started concentrating a highly-moisturizing product there I've noticed my concealer doesn't get "weird" because the skin under it isn't dry anymore. I like the tube, which allows me to dispense just the right amount of product. I really hope Paula's Choice doesn't change all the lovely tubes to fancy-pants serum bottles that break, feel cheap, and also cause product waste.I highly recommend this is if you have dry skin or dry patches, or maybe for anyone as a soothing, lightweight treatment following intense exfoliation. That said, this product is a bit pricey so I am going to try the Dollar Shave Club serum to see if I can replace it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not very moisturizing
This was the first serum I purchased from PC. I'm in my mid-twenties and have fairly dry skin. This serum did not help at all to moisturize my skin. I was also a tad wary of using this serum in the daytime, as I use PC's Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment at night (I have sensitive skin, so I like to use it every second day). If you've never used a retinol product, this may be a good starter serum for those who don't need an overly moisturizing effect. I much prefer using the Resist Super Antioxidant Serum - very moisturizing (esp. when coupled with a moisturizer) and easy to use with the 1% Retinol Treatment.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

About Me Minimalist
this serum broke me out, and made my skin flake and caused red bumps all over, including one huge pimple that was deep and still hasn't gone away.

About Me Beauty Conscious
This product is orange in color and thick in consistency. Originally I thought the orange color was due to product separation, which is not the case. This serum doesn't take long to soak in but does leave an ever so slightly tacky feel on the skin, which isn't a problem because I always follow up with a moisturizer and that tacky feel is gone afterwards. There isn't much of a smell at all, which is really nice for those of us with asthma that are extra sensitive to odors. I think this product is worth having and is much better than any drug store serum I have tried before.

My skin loves Skin Recovery Antioxidant Serum With Retinol
from Western Oregon
. Friends have commented on the marked improvement in my skin since I began using Paula's Choice products a couple of years ago. My sensitive, dry, combo skin particularly loves the serums, which melt on, feel silky and reduce the dreaded "dry flakies." My skin is easily irritated, and I seem to have the best results by alternating this Retinol serum with the Resist non-Retinol formula. Both melt into my skin and reduce the dull-flakies.

Wonderful texture and results

After using Paula's Choice skincare, my wrinkles are softened and the texture of my skin is wonderful. I use the Skin Recovery Serum, Resist Eye Cream and the Resist Intensive Wrinkle Repair Serum. These three products perform so well. I am 65; had sun damage (of course) and the Resist Intensive Wrinkle serum has transformed my face. I've been told by many that I appear in my early 50's. I am so glad I discovered Paula's Choice.

One of my favorites
from New York
I typically use the Resist serum with Retinol. But then, after trying a sample, I fell in love with this Skin Recovery Antioxidant Serum with Retinol. I find that my skin just drinks this in and is left feeling soft and supple. I alternate this now with the Resist with Retinol, tending to use the Resist at night because it has a more oily feel.To give you an idea about if it might work for you, I have had oily, acne prone skin since I was 11 years of age. Now, my acne tends to be hormonal, appearing mostly on my chin and jaw line. Without extra care, the acne is absolutely unsightly and out of control. Paula's Choice products are the most effective I have ever used! With regular use, I rarely get pimples. My skin is smoother, brighter, and more even toned then ever. This serum is definitely a huge contributor to my now clear skin!
Drying! Surprisingly did nothing positive for me!
By Megan the cyclist
from Temecula, CA
I have purchased quite a few Paula's Choice products. I have combination skin, but have been REALLY dry this winter. I also spend quite a bit outdoors and mountain bike regularly (so you can get an idea of what my skin is subjected to). I found that this product did nothing positive for me no matter when or how I used it. It was actually drying my skin out! I used it first in the warmer months and it caused breakouts. I was then instructed to use it again in the colder, dryer months instead - so I waited. I used it again recently and still it only dried out my skin and then created a few breakouts. I was really disappointed and will be looking into their other products.

Really wanted to love
from New York City
I applied this on the top half of my face. Loved the consistency and moisturizing feel, however it made me breakout in little red bumps. Tried to stick with it to see if skin would adjust, but it did not.
