Left me with blistered skin
from Hillsborough, NC
About Me Minimalist
I tried using this serum a couple of times. Each time I mixed one drop with my regular serum and waited until my toner dried and my skin was "quiet" after cleansing. I blistered. Twice. Very disappointed.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Boosts all the other PC products
I think this is the best vitamin c serum you can buy for the results and the cost. It delivers on its promises. I know this was formulated to not need refrigeration but, I don't have any problems with mine oxidizing ever and it's stated to have a life of three months while I can keep this for six months use but, I do keep mine in the refrigerator. I don't go through it that fast because I use the vitamin c 25% cream also. I know that vitamin c is great for skin discoloration. But, the new Brightening mask and essence are working for me at a phenomenally faster rate. I will not give up my vitamin c though because I know it's good for my skin for a number of reasons.

I have read that Vit. C is good for aging skin, so I tried. I use every morning with my Skin Recovery Antioxidant serum & SPF moisturizer. I believe it helps mine.

I love this serum! 2 years strong!
By Brooke the Minimalist
from Nashville, TN
I've used this serum almost every night for 2 years and I absolutely love it! Yes, there is a hint of a weird smell, but it diminishes pretty quickly after application and you get used to it. I'm surprised that the smell hits so many people in such a negative way. It could be that Paula's Choice is a fragrance free line and unfortunately in our beauty culture today we have grown so accustomed to artificially "pleasant" smells. However, if you are into natural and minimalist products like I am and have gone fragrance free for a good amount of time, you will know it is just simply the way this products smells. No big deal. Also, compare it to other Vitamin C & E serums out there and your pocket book will smile too!I am currently 34 years old and had fairly oily skin in my teens/20's then it suddenly switched over to combination/sensitive/dry t-zone skin in my 30's. This serum was the answer for me. It has all the vitamins my skin needs daily at this point in my life. I prefer to keep my beauty routine to a bare minimum and have had great results using this serum nightly under a good moisturizer, where it is less sticky, after using a soap-free face wash. It fades my hormonal acne spots pretty quickly too and wake up every morning with fresh, clear, and bright skin!

One of the best vitamin C serums out there, especially for the price. It smells a little like hot dogs, but that is how you know it has potential. I suffered from dull uneven skin tone and this product really changed my skincare game. I use it everyday.

Great product but the packaging is a deal-breaker.
By Kat K.
from San Diego CA
I love this product - it works very well adding a few drops to my moisturizer at night or applying during the day under sunscreen. But the packaging is making me rethink buying it. Using a few drops a day (more is irritating to my sensitive skin), I have half the expensive bottle left when it goes bad. I've tried buying the sample bottles for the smaller amount but they aren't sealed like the big bottle so they oxidize even before they are opened. I hope Paula will package this in a smaller well-sealed bottle. I am intensely loyal to Paula's products but given the cost and waste, I may need to look elsewhere for a smaller bottle.

Worth Every Dollar!!!
from Washington, DC
About Me Beauty Expert
This product is absolutely amazing! Let me start off by saying before using Paula's Choice products my skin was terrible. I have sensitive, acne-prone, combination skin AND I suffer from perioral dermatitis...my skin was like a trick-bag, when I would try a product I never knew what results I was going to get. That is until I took a leap of faith and consulted Paula's Choice reps...and I'm grateful that I did! My skin is finally for the first time in my adult life doing great...and I didn't think it could possibly get any better until I added this product to my regime.I use it in the daytime and the evening. In the evening I use it in combination with my Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator and for the daytime I use it by applying a few drops directly onto my face and neck before I apply the Resist Super Light Wrinkle Defense SPF.What a game changer! I didn't expect such speedy results especially since most of the products I was already using were helping with my hyper-pigmentation from previous acne scars. These are the other Paula's Choice products I've been using:1. Resist Perfectly Balanced Cleanser2. Resist Weightless Advanced Repair Toner3. Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Exfoliant4. Clinical 1% Retinol5. Resist Anti Aging Clear Skin Hydrator6. Resist Super Light Wrinkle Defense SPFLiterally after the FIRST night of using this product...when I woke-up and looked in the mirror I didn't recognize my own face. My skin was vibrant and my hyper-pigmentation had noticeably decreased. As for the negative reviews I believe that this product works best in conjunction with an effective skincare regime. Don't just wash your face and use this product expecting major results. Cleansing, toning, exfolianting, treatments/serums and moisturizing PLUS using SPF are so essential to the process.

Great product but did not work for me
from Hong Kong
This is a great serum, but I believe the vitamin E in the serum break me out. I tried skinceuticles and drunk elephant's vitamin C serum as well (all fomulated with vitamin C+ E), and they all break me out, cry....

Pricey and No Noticeable Results
Really my title says it all. I'm 29 with a few freckles along my cheeks and a little unevenness on my chin and cheeks from acne in the past. I used 7-8 drops of this on my face and neck undiluted for about 3-ish months until I ran out. I always wear between 30 and 50 broadspectrum spf everyday so the lack of results are not due to sun exposure. I went without this serum for months and my skin still looked the same. At first I chalked this up to vitamin c perhaps just not being an effective ingredient for me or being too young to see results with it yet. However I recently decided to give vitamin c serums another try from another brand (a brand cheaper than paula's) and I'm now finally seeing what's so great about vitamin c! It's just unacceptable that this is so expensive (and it smells kinda funky) and does nothing. I like other paula products, but this one is a total (expensive) dud.
