Great product but bad packaging

About Me Budget Buyer
Comments about SKIN BALANCING Cleanser - 16 oz:
This product is excellent. I've been using it for years and my skin has greatly improved since using it. I had been getting acne blemishes in my late 50s. It truly is gentle and effective. For thorough removal of makeup, I will wash, rinse and repeat but otherwise I find it very pleasant to use (with one inconvenience I'm describing later). I use it with the Skin Balancing Pore Reducing Toner and I notice my skin texture and appearance are worse when I skip even a couple days. My only real complaint --which is the reason I didn't rate it 5 stars-- is that the bottle it comes in is totally wrong for the product. The cleanser is pretty thick and should come in a bottle that is easy to squeeze and stands upside down so gravity always has the product quick to dispense. So it is really slow and annoying to dispense once you've used only a third or so of the cleanser. The bottle it comes in can't really be stored upside down because the product then oozes into the empty spaces in the dispenser cap. What I've been doing is transferring it to a travel bottle, but I think Paula's Choice can do better.

I didn't have luck with this product. It didn't help control the grease and made my skin greasier.

like the formula - gentle yet still effective, use every evening after makeup removing with Clinique cleansing oil, and asked my boyfriend to use it as well, his skin improves after that

Love this for stubborn eye make up

About Me Beauty Conscious
I am 43 and have slight wrinkles and acne. I am too old to use the over the counter acne cleansers because they dry my skin out too much and wrinkles start to become more pronounced. This product cleans my skin, keeps my acne in check. I still break out if I eat a lot of candy. I get bad cystic acne when eating too many sweets. Since using this product, they don't get as bad and goes away quickly. I usually wash my face 2x a day, but I add a 3rd wash when the cystic acne starts. My wrinkles are very slight around eyes since using the product. I think they just went back to normal wrinkles. This cleanser is awesome for eye makeup removal. I wear water proof expensive eye make up and it is impossible to get off. I've used so many different products to get it off. My eyes would be sore from constant wiping. I close my eyes and rub cleanser around the area. When I rinse, it is completely gone. No traces of eyeliner anywhere. I don't use any of the eye make up remover products I have and my eyes aren't sore. This does not dry out my skin, but it is oily, so my skin can handle it.

Great to balance out skin breakouts
from Minneapolis, MN
I use this twice a day, and since I started, my skin hasn't had a huge breakout since. I tend to have very bad acne, but dry skin, so it's hard for me to find a cleanser that helps me even out my skin while not drying it out too much. Definitely recommend this product to anyone with combination skin!

Staples Face Wash
By Alexis S.
from Dayton, OH
Just using this product along with the Skin Balancing toner, Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution, Daily Skin Clearing Treatment since March and my skin has never looked this good. I have combination (more on dry side during the winter, sensitive and acne prone skin. I followed Paula's Choice recommendations for products for this face type and I'm literally not going back to anything else. My skin is after the cleanser feels clean, soft and supple. Formula is milk and milky but effective in cleaning . Love this product!

Best cleaser I've found!
from Denver, CO
I've tried so many cleansers for my oily, acne-prone skin over the years, and this isthe absolute best I've found. I like that "squeaky clean" feeling after I wash, and I've never been able to find a creamy cleaser that provides this. THIS IS IT! My skin has cleared up almost entirely after just one week of using this twice a day, in combo with a PC toner, exfoliant, and moisturizer. I'm thrilled to have found this line of products and this cleanser. If you struggle with acne, don't wait--try this now! I love that PC allows you to buy samples, too. I ordered the full size products after only 2 days of using this cleanser.

Used for Over 10 Years

About Me Minimalist
I have been using this cleanser for over ten years, only straying once or twice before coming back to it. (My skin stings with other brand cleansers.) The big bottle lasts for at least a few months, and the cleanser does a great job of cleaning off my makeup without overstripping my combo (oily in summer and oily to some dry areas in winter) skin.

About Me Beauty Expert
This was the 1st PC's cleanser I purchased & it has definitely balanced out my overly oily skin. I love that it strong enough to remove all traces of makeup, including waterproof eyeliner + mascara without stinging my eyes yet gentle enough to use up to 2 or 3 times per day if need be. I have incorporated the Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser along with this because I still suffer from a touch of Adult Acne. I say a touch because along with the cleansers I use PC's SB 2% BHA Liquid, Weekly Resurfacing 4% BHA, Acne Solutions Extra Strength Benzoyl Peroxide 5%, Resist 1% Retinol Booster, SB Invisible Finish Moisture Gel & Resist C15 Super Booster. My acne has DRASTICALLY diminished by using all of these products in a way NO other skin care line has ever done & I've used most everything. If anything I wish all cleansers were available in the 16oz.bottle. I purchased mine in December, & didn't add a small amount of the Clear Pore Cleanser until March. Washing my face 2x's a day(at least) very often squirting out much more than needed, this bottle is still more than half full. I can easily see it lasting at least a year. A great price for a wonderful facial cleanser in a BIG bottle. Thank you PC!!

Truly Skin Balancing!
from Los Angeles
Sometimes you don't know how good something is until it is gone. That is what happened to me with Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser. It is truly an unassuming product that has improved my skin over time. I have normal to oily combo skin, and I used to be a complete oil slick by 11 am. Even the most robust mattifying products had severe breakthrough. I was using a pretty harsh cleanser that I believed was reducing my facial oil, but I think it actually dried out my skin too much, making my skin over compensate. SB Cleanser didn't make a huge impression on me at first, probably because of long-time use of the prior too-harsh cleanser. However, within two weeks with daily AM use of SB cleanser, my skin started to be, well, more balanced. After a month of use, it was very well behaved, and continued to be so through the entire bottle. My skin got to a point where I could actually wear sunscreen without getting slimy or breaking out. And mattifiers actually WORK on my skin now, keeping me shine free most of the day. The bummer part...my bottle is gone and I'm sad because the other cleansers I have on hand are simply not the same.Skin Balancing Cleanser is a white color with creamy consistency and a slight glue-like scent. It has a rich lather when a little bit of water is added. It is cushiony on skin, and allows gentle massaging without excessive pulling. It rinses easily, but I use a microfiber cloth to remove most of it before I rinse. I didn't notice any tightness or flaking when in normal Los Angeles weather, but I did notice it was a little too much when the conditions were very dry. Generally, I only used SB Cleanser once per day, and have been using PC Moisture Boost in the evenings. Once I have worked through some of my cleanser stash, I will definitely repurchase Skin Balancing Cleanser!
