Holy Grail for Combination Skin
from Phoenix, AZ
About Me Budget Buyer
Comments about SKIN RECOVERY Cleanser - 16 oz:
This is my holy grail - please never change or discontinue it! I'm in my mid-thirties and have combination skin with a slightly oily t-zone. I began developing dry patches on my face a couple of years ago and nothing seemed to help. I started using this cleanser a year ago and it solved the problem within a month! I use it morning and night and haven't had any recurrence of those awful dry patches. It did burn slightly the first few weeks of using it on my scaly spots, but that went away and I haven't had a problem since! It takes a full face of makeup off - including eye makeup - very effectively.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not drying but did burn slightly
from Ottawa, Ontario
About Me Brand Buyer
While this product didn't dry my skin - even in these dry winter months - it did create a mild burning sensation when I used it every day, and therefore made my sensitive skin red. Normally I would use Moisture Boost but at the time (a couple of months ago) it was discontinued.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Debating between Skin Recovery and Moisterizer Cleanser?
from Phoenix ,Az
I tried the moisturizing cleanser and when I ran out I bought the skin recovery cleanser because it was on sale at the time. I wish I would have just reordered the moisturizing cleanser. Skin Recovery cleanser feels like you are cleaning your face with a lotion or a cream. It doesn't feel as silky, doesn't lather at all and doesn't remove make up as good as the moisturizing cleaner so my face didn't feel as clean. Both are gentle, fragrance free, and skin does not feel dry afterwardw but the moisturizing is just a far more superior , more luxurious cleanser that I really love!!
My go to.
I forgot my cleanser at family's house over Christmas break, so I had been using another for 1 week. Big mistake. Dry patches and breakouts from irritation. This never happens with this cleanser. It is the best. I have been using it for about 3 years, and this is the first time without it for a week, and it shows. Getting more right now. I get this doesn't work for everyone, but for my delicate, dry, and sensitive skin in northern US, it is THE BEST.

I think this cleanser is fantastic. It really works well with my sensitive, combination skin leaving it hydrated and clean. I use it twice a day. I do use eye makeup remover to take off eye makeup first in the evening. Other than that, it removes makeup and sunscreen fine. I really love this product, and will definitely repurchase again and again.
Gentle and effective for dry sensitive skin
I have extremely dry, sensitive skin with moderately severe rosacea. I've been using this cleanser twice a day with a Foreo Luna exfoliator for almost a month. This product feels very soothing and moisturizing and doesn't irritate my skin at all. I don't wear makeup so I can't speak to how well it removes makeup, but my skin always feels clean and soft when I use this, not dry or tight or greasy. About 2-3 times a week I feel like a I want a little bit of a deeper cleanse, so at those times I use First Aid Beauty facial cleanser, and I feel like this new routine of alternating the two cleansers is working really well for me. I don't know if I will use this PC cleanser in the summer though, it may be a little too moisturizing then so I'll probably try one of the cleansers for oily or combo skin. But it's perfect for fall and winter!
Service and delivery comments:
Arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
Not for dry, sensitive skin!
This can't possibly be for dry, very dry skin. After rinising my skin feels tight and dry, even more than before I washed it. I use many of Paula's products and this is one that just doesn't measure up.

This has a light, but strange smell that reminds me of stale beer. One of the last things I want to smell in the morning or before bed is a reminder of my college sorority basement, lol -- but that is the memory it elicits. Is it supposed to have a slight alcohol-y smell? Others says 'smells great' - stale beer not a great smell to me. Maybe there is something wrong with mine?Other than that, it goes on nicely, I think I've been using more than I need to so will correct that. Willing to see it through to finish and see if it makes a difference in my 60 year old skin, which isn't bad, but I'm always looking to protect it from looking like 60 year old skin. : )

My skin type is super finicky. Mainly dry and occasionally I will get *slightly* oily in parts. And also VERY clogged pore prone. I use this product twice a day, with my Clarisonic. I was hesitant at first because there is almost no lather so I worried my Clarisonic was just kinda wiping it off. But it wasn't and I love this cleanser! It is very gentle and leaves your skin feeling clean and supple. I remove my makeup before so I can't speak for how it removes makeup. This does everything a cleanser should. Be gentle on your skin, clean you skin, wash off easily and completely and won't clog your pores. If you are looking for a good cream cleanser, get this!

One of the worst cleansers I've ever tried
from New Jersey
I started using a medication that caused dryness in my normally oily skin. Since my doctor warned me about this side effect, I went looking for good products for dry skin. In the meantime, I continued to use my drug store brand cleansers and moisturizers for several weeks. I purchased the cleanser, toner and AM/PM moisturizers in this line. After using them for a week, my skin was so dry that it was flaking off, and I was breaking out all over my face, both small bumps and a large painful pimple right in the middle of my cheek. The cleanser doesn't remove makeup. I've washed my face twice with a washcloth and I still saw makeup on the cotton ball when I applied the toner. One wash left my skin feeling tight and dry, the fact that I always needed to wash twice meant that washing my face became a fairly unpleasant ritual and the moisturizing toner didn't help at all. I thought it might be a side effect of the medicine so I went back to using my old sensitive skin cleanser and my skin started clearing up immediately. The pimples are clearing up and the flaking has stopped. Maybe my skin just reacted badly to one of the ingredients in one of the products but I'm not willing to experiment on my face to figure out which one of the items in this line caused the problem, it's all going back
