I want to weep with joy!
About Me Brand Buyer
Comments about HYDRALIGHT Shine-Free SPF 30 - 2 oz:
This product was my introduction to mineral sunscreens and I've never looked back (sorry Avobenzone!) I was practically in despair when it was discontinued. I've tried other mineral based sunscreens, available from drugstores, but nothing beats Hydralight's multi-purpose perfection. It serves as a combination moisturizer, serum, sunscreen and I would no more start my mornings without it than I would without coffee. It soaks into the skin beautifully without feeling sticky. There's a very very slight sheen immediately after applying and at first it does appear to make your skin look lighter, but both effects fade quickly enough. The feeling on the skin at first application is almost a fluffy, mousse-like sensation. It's not at all heavy or gloppy. You don't feel any of the greasiness that's common to chemical sunscreens - even the best formulated ones. THANK YOU, Paula's Choice, for bringing this product back!!!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not for me!
By Liz D.
from Wood-Ridge, NJ
My skin is very particular. It was used to only two moisturizers for 20+ years, then those moisturizers were discontinued. So maybe it's just because nothing else will work on my skin, that this product was awful for me. I have acne prone skin that isn't oily. Moisturizers that say they are for acne prone skin typically drying because they are for oily/combination skin, but my skin is normal to dry. Just acne prone. This lotion made the surface of my skin so rough, dry, flaky, and dull, even for days after I stopped using the product, and it even gave me wrinkles that I didn't have before which I really hope will go away! I AM 43 but typically look like I'm in my 30s because I'm wrinkle-free. I understand the importance of using SPF (I used it daily in my old lotions) but not if it makes me look ten or more years older. I would rather wear a big floppy hat all the time and take my chances with that alone, then use this product again, unfortunately.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

As close to HOLY GRAIL as it gets!
I feel like I've tried over 100+ mineral sunscreens and have spent countless amounts of Monday as well. This hydralight spf 30 is an absolute stunning formula that should NEVER be discontinued. Now I know why everyone was so upset when the hydralight range was taken away. I'm happy to see that Paula's choice listens to the feedback and ultimately brought it back. After trying this I'm definitely not going to be getting the hydralight cleanser as well. I believe they made a toner but I don't see that back. Anyway this spf 30 is lightweight, smooth, easy to rub in and does not leave a white cast. It feels lightweight and fresh and like it's full of water when it's applied. The finish is natural and makes the skin look radiant. This is absolutely something that I would purchase multiples of for future orders. Without a doubt the best mineral sunscreen formulation I have EVER found!

Thank you for bringing back this excellent product line :)
By Hydralight & Moisture Boost fan

I can't thank you enough for bringing back the Hydralight and Moisture Boost product lines. I am so happy. These are the two cornerstone product lines that kept me with Paula's Choice since day 1, and they always provide the best results with absolutely no irritation or tightness, or dryness or redness....and they don't cause breakouts. These are absolutely the two best product lines that you offer (and the best products lines in any skin care line on the market). I'd like to say that I'll be ordering these items right away, but I have a little bit of those products already stocked up from when you announced that you were discontinuing these two lines. Rest assured, when my supply runs out, I will be ordering these products regularly, as I always have done. Please don't ever stop selling these two wonderful product lines.

Did not moisturize or hydrate my skin at all
from tampa, fl
I was excited to try this after being disappointed in the Redness Relief moisturizer for not doing anything for my skin, but this was even worse! It is very liquidy and tricky to apply, although the initial white cast goes away in a few minutes after application. However, it did not dry matte at all and kept me very shiny throughout the day. The product itself actually made my skin dehydrated and tight, did not moisturize at all, and it just felt like putting water on my skin. A hydrating primer actually did more for my skin than the moisturizer, and it was a very expensive sunscreen, although I much prefer other sunscreens than this one. If you want a really matte finish, this will not do it, and if you have skin that needs a good moisturizer (even if you have oily skin), this is not it either. It was super disappointing after all the hype around it.

This is an effective moisturizer and sunscreen but doesn't keep me matte at all. It's not even matte when it sets.

This moisturizer is lovely. Quickly absorbs not skin and provides a lovely barrier for makeup to sit on. Will repurchase again as it doesn't leave my skin irritated or greasy!

Excellent for mildly oily and extra sensitive ski
By No more red face
from Quebec City, QC Canada
After having tried multiple other moisturizers, this little gem of a cream is just perfect. I have extremely sensitive, older skin that is mildly oily and this is literally the ONLY moisturizer I have discovered that does not irritate or cause breakouts. The added SPF factor is the cherry on top, since any other spf product irritated my skin. Don't ever stop producing this product, please.

About Me Beauty Conscious
I'm so happy right now! Hydralight was my favorite line and still is. This spf 30 was always a staple in my skin care line. The product is light and disappears. I wouldn't say it gives a white cast as much as it gives a glow (not an oily sheen). This was always my goto product. I never really needed foundation on top because it would brighten my skin. I have oily skin with inflammatory acne which is extremely sensitive this product never broke me out or irritated and I've never received a sun burn in all the time I used it. Now if they would bring back the Hydralight toner I'd be so HAPPY!

About Me Beauty Expert
I came to the page today not to review this product, but to re-purchase. It seems to be out of stock, or may have been discontinued and is on its way back to the market...Either way I just want to leave a short note about this product. I have THE MOST TROUBLESOME SKIN on the planet (in my opinion) and I've searched near 15 years to find a sunscreen/moisture combo that doesn't irritate my sensitive, break-out prone, dry/oily nightmare skin, and THIS is my product! I signed up to be notified by email when this product is back in stock, and I really wish I was able to buy it right now!! I guess I will have to settle for something else in the mean time. Can't wait to buy this again!!!
