About Me Beauty Expert
Comments about RESIST Intensive Repair Cream - 1.7 oz:
A Paula's Choice Customer Assistant recommended this to me in my search for a good, deep moisturizer with lots of good stuff in it and "The most bang for my buck". I am glad she suggested this, because I love love love it! Its a Beautiful cream that goes on so light and creamy. My skin FEELS moisturized and it STAYS moisturized until morning, which is what I wanted. In the morning my skin feels plumped and dewy. Too many moisturizers out there do not moisturize adequately at all, or they pill up, or they dry out within minutes. This one keeps me feeling moisturized and that is exactly what I want for night time! So often when I purchase a cream, after a week or two I am thinking "what other moisturizer out there can I try that will be better than this?" Then I do internet searches and try to find a better facial moisturizer. With this Resist Intensive Repair Cream, I am done looking, because I have found my Holy Grail! I am thrilled with it!

I Really Like This Product But...
from Pawleys Island,SC
About Me Beauty Conscious
This moisturizer works beautifully on my dry, sensitive skin. My only issue is the packaging. I find it goes very fast & with no warning...empty! To me, it seems to be excessive packaging for such a small amount of product & frustrating when I run out. So many PC products are in tubes, wouldn't it make sense to use a light protective tube of some sort? All travelers would certainly be grateful as well, since this container is sooo bulky. Serum is in a tube, so why not this?

One of the best
from Dublin, Ireland
I just loved this moisturizer, it is so rich and gives my skin a good amount of moisture. The only negative thing is the packaging, once it is finished you can't remove the lid easily to pick up the remaining product (and there's a lot remaining in the tube!). I wish this was sold in a normal squeezing tube.

Misled by other reviews
I chose this specific moisturizer because my skin has been really dry/flaky this winter and there were so many great reviews. I bought this product months ago, and it's nearly used up now. I wanted to give it time to be sure I wasn't jumping the gun when I left a negative review. I am so annoyed to say it literally did not one thing to change my skin. My dry skin and flakes are still there. It did nothing to help even skin tone. It was a complete and utter waste of money. I don't think I've ever used such a pointless product in my life. I gave it all this time in hopes that it would work so I basically suffer with my same dry skin all winter long. Don't waste your money on this. I'd have probably been better off with Olay or something.

My New Favourite Night Cream
from Toronto, Ontario
I just started using this cream and already know I love it. I especially love the tackiness that to me is the guaranty that the miniaturization of this product will act longer than just 15 minutes. It goes on smooth and I don't mind the shine since I mainly use it at nigh due to the retinol content. So far, I have not experienced any irritation and my face feels very moisturized and soft. Thank you PC team for another great product!

Shiny oil slick
from West Texas
About Me Minimalist
I don't have inherently super dry skin, but live in a high-altitude desert climate so overnight recovery-style moisturizer is essential after a day of thin dry air, high wind, and harsh sun. This is heavy, but does not have the rich penetrating feel. I don't see or feel any retinol-related differences in texture or tone either, which isn't surprising as it doesn't feel like it absorbs at all. It sits on the surface of the skin feeling slick, and looking very greasy and oily, for a long time after application- even after I've used a very spare amount. It will only serve a purpose as a barrier to reduce moisture loss, but glycerin/petrolatum (that makes up the bulk of this product) alone would accomplish that and this is too expensive for that purpose. My skin doesn't feel any more moisturized than if I just used my Resist serum alone. I love the other PC products in my routine, but I'm very disappointed in this product, especially for the price.

Wanted to Love It
About Me Beauty Conscious, Minimalist
In the winter, my Dry/Combination skin veers into full-on Dry territory, and I was looking for a moisturizer that I would be able to rely on to keep my skin healthy and happy. My usual moisturizer + cleanser combo was not feeling moisturizing enough, and as much as I loved its texture and overall results, I couldn't deal with my skin feeling tight every day. Since I was low on my moisturizer (http://www.paulaschoice.com/shop/skin-care-categories/moisturizers/_/Resist-Barrier-Repair-Moisturizer), I decided to try this out based on the recommendation of a PC representative online. I do want to acknowledge that I have extremely sensitive skin – it's very fair, and very reactive to environmental and hormonal changes. Considering that I've had great luck with this line in the past and had finally found a skincare niche that works for me with PC, I didn't think I'd have to worry about this moisturizer setting it off. I do also want to note that I began interspersing a different cleanser into my routine at about the same time as this moisturizer (the Hydralight cleanser, which also DID NOT work for me). However, once my skin began to feel irritated, I ceased using the new cleanser, reverting to my old, tried-and-true cleanser, while I continued to use the moisturizer for a few more weeks. I have been using this moisturizer as the last step in my nightly routine, after cleanser, toner, BHA, and sometimes serum.I was a bit suspicious of this moisturizer when I first dispensed it and it had an oily sheen in my hand – I can actually see the oil that has separated out of the moisturizer – when I dispense it, there are streaks of straight oil interspersed with the white cream of the moisturizer, which seems strange. There is not any weird smell that I can detect, but it generally feels slick instead of creamy, and it seems to sit on my skin rather than to absorb. At first, I thought my skin may just need to adjust, but this phenomenon has not ceased. Even when I use very little of the moisturizer, it feels wet/greasy and tacky on my skin. Not only that, but it actually burns my skin lightly after I apply it. Again, I thought I just needed to adjust and figured I would wake up with my skin feeling soft and nice. Instead, I wake up with skin that is both greasy AND flaky. I have no idea what is up with this stuff, but since I started using it, my skin remains as tight as it was, but with the added bonus of a greasy sheen and painful dry patches everywhere but my chin, which instead features a smattering of painful cystic acne. Because my other moisturizer also contains retinol and I've been using it for a year, I tend not to think it is the inclusion of retinol that has caused this irritation, but I do wonder about the concentration of retinol in this product.I am so disappointed in this product, particularly based on the price and on the success I've had with other PC products, and particularly because it is way more money than I would spend on any non-Paula's Choice moisturizer. My skin is now in worse shape than it had been in MONTHS, and now I need to shell out even MORE money to either restock my great but too-light Resist Barrier-Repair moisturizer, or take a risk on something else, which I'm now afraid to do. Clearly, this works phenomenally for some people, and that's great… but it is not the case for me.

Great product, awful packaging
from Calgary Canada
The product itself is great. Wonderful for my insanely dry climate. I used it before bed and in the morning, and it was wonderful on my very sensitive dry skin. However, I will not order it again because of the packaging. The pump style means that there is who knows how much extra product left when the pump stops working, and despite spending a fair bit of time trying to get it open, I won't resort to a hammer and smear lotion off my walls. I won't order this again because I'm not getting the amount I paid for. I'll find a similar product or use another company. It's a shame.
Perfect for PM Use
from New York
I purchased my first container of this about a month ago and I really like it. I was using it on my face on top of the Barrier Repair Moisturizer at night, but realized that it was overkill and was breaking out a little bit. So instead, I the Barrier Repair only on my face and the Intensive Cream on my neck & decolleté and it all works perfectly. Seems the area under my chin needs extra moisture and this provides just that.
A steal at this price!
By I'm in the barn w/ my horse!
from Ballston Spa, NY
This is a fantastic night cream. I wish Paula offered the same product w/o retinol for daytime, because in winter I don't usually wear sunscreen - live in upstate NY. I have used many more expensive night moisturizers, but love this one. I bought a horse over a year ago and have been making spending adjustments since. Quit a fabulous "gift with purchase" line and am here. This is one of Paula's best products! Stock up when it's on sale!
