Solid daytime moisturizer

Comments about SKIN RECOVERY Lotion SPF 30 - 2 oz:
It's fine for what it's supposed to be, but I find that sunscreen as a general rule does not make my skin super happy, but I wear it anyway because you're supposed. I like the texture of this lotion SO much better than the Skin Recovery Replenishing Moisturizer, which is too thick to spread on smoothly without reinforcing the crease patterns in your skin. I find the lotion on the other hand provides almost the same level of moisture, but the texture is silkier so it just glides on and absorbs into the skin. I think if the sunscreen minerals were taken out, it would be the perfect non-sunscreen daily moisturizer for me. Paula's Choice, do you think you can make a lotion in your Skin Recovery and possibly the Moisture Boost lines that does not contain sunscreen?
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I hate the feeling of sunscreen and I have never worn it on a daily basis. I apply it purely to prevent sunburn when expecting to be outdoors, in the high-risk hours of the Spring/Summer months, mainly when bathing, sunbathing or at some outdoor event. However, during this winter I had some moles removed and to protect my skin this Spring/Summer, I was looking for a product to use when going for a walk during the day. I have bought expensive products too but they often have irritating fragrances in them. I cannot use chemical sunscreens as they irritate and sting my eyes. The problem I have with mineral sunscreens is that they are generally very thick and leave a ghastly white cast. I am not keen on nanoparticles. Six weeks ago, I ordered both the Hydralight and the Skin Recovery sunscreens. While the Hydralight is a slightly thinner consistency than the Skin Recover and both are thinner than standard sunscreens, they are still a sunscreen texture, rather than a moisturiser or balm consistency. Both leave a ghastly white cast. Both have a smell. Both leave a milky beading when sweating but the Hydralight is somewhat mattifying. Both are moisturising compared to most standard sunscreens but they are sunscreens first and foremost, NOT moisturisers with sunscreen properties. Both sting my ultra sensitive and reactive skin and sting my eyes if it gets in them. Both leave a tackiness that powder makeup slings to. I have also noticed, that I come out in a slight rash from both. Just now, I have noticed that I have a bumpy texture on the back of my neck which prompted this review. I would recommend this for beach or sporting use, except that neither a waterproof. This would suit those who do not perspire much and those who are used to heavier makeup and liquid foundation.

About Me Brand Buyer
I love this for daily use!! I have dry, sensitive skin, so I wanted something that was only mineral sunscreens of at least SPF 30, and the addition of moisturizers and antioxidants in this product just make it a home run. It's not a heavy moisturizer, so during the summer this is all I need but during the winter I use an additional moisturizer to supplement this one because on its own it's not quite enough when my skin is really dry. It's not at all irritating and with daily use I haven't had any breakouts with it. And it smells great!! Very lightly of fresh cucumber, not a hint of sunscreen smell in it. I'm fair, so it's hard for me to tell if there is a white cast, but this does look very nice under my foundation. Love love love!!!

I have tried many moisturizers and love this one most. I feel my skin super soft and bright whenever I apply this lotion. Didn't have sun damage or dryness even I live in hot and dry weather of Southern California. I usually apply a thin layer of argan oil before apply the lotion. Highly recommend for anyone who have dull and dry skin.

So as a person with very dry skin this is a life saver. I have dry skin everywhere but my on my nose. The bane of my life. This product I apply everywhere after I use my exfoliant and I have for years. You don't need much and I let is soak in for 30 seconds before I apply my foundation. I have used other moisturizers for dry skin but I like the texture of this the best. The thickness as you apply it to your fingers stays in place until you apply it and then it glides on.

Best PC sunscreen in my opinion
from Toronto, ON
I have used several PC sunscreens, including the hydralight, as well as the skin balancing sunscreens. They both don't work well for me. They tend to make my skin appear dull, and make my pores clog faster, which is strange because they are both geared towards acne prone/sensitive skin. This moisturizer, although geared towards dry/very dry skin, is actually great for my combination skin. It actually helps with my breakouts, gives me a beautiful healthy glow under my makeup, and never feels too heavy. It is a cream formula and great for winter use. Skin does not feel irritated after use. Only thing is that it may be too thick for summer, especially if you are out all day you may find yourself becoming more greasy. I will continue to use this for the cooler/dryer months, however.

Best physical sunscreen in the PC line
from Redwood City, CA
This is my favorite PC sunscreen. I use it everyday. I have pretty sensitive combination skin and cannot tolerate chemical sunscreens, so last year I tried samples of all of the PC moisturizers with SPF that only use physical sunscreens (i.e. titanium dioxide or zinc oxide). There are four of them---the others are the Hydralight, the Resist Cellular Defense, and the Resist Super-Light Wrinkle Defense. The Skin Recovery lotion was the only one that was invisible on my skin once it dried. (I have fair Asian skin with neutral undertones.) The Hydralight was a close second but it left a very very slight white cast and was also a little less moisturizing because it was more of a fluid, whereas the Skin Recovery one is more like a cream. I think the only thing that I might want to see improved on the Skin Recovery product is for it to feel a little less sticky on the skin. I wouldn't say the product is greasy, but even two hours after applying, I can still feel a bit of stickiness when I touch my cheek. It would be nice to have an elegant powdery finish instead. But that's just a niggle on my part. I can always apply powder over the sunscreen. All in all, this is the best daily sunscreen I've found and I hope PC never discontinues it!

This product moisturizes dry skin well and does not leave a white cast on my medium/deep skin tone. The only off-putting quality this product has is its smell

So glad I ay this! I have dry/combo skin. I like that it's lotion texture and mineral sunscreen so my face doesn't feel irritated or does it sting my eyes. Keeps my dry skin at bay and although it does feel a bit greasy, I find it moisturize my skin instead of looking like a greasy mess, a little blot on my tzone and I'll survived! Lol

Finally a sunscreen I look forward to putting on
from Houston, TX
I am allergic to Avobenzone, so I cannot use most of sunscreen products. I tried every possible Zinc based sunscreen but all of them are like plastic film, greasy, or leaves streaks. This one leaves skin soft and light. No residues. It says non-greasy and it is compare to others on the regular market, but it is greasy for Texas summer. I tried sample of Hydralight sunscreen, and that was better suited for non shiny finish. The only complaint I have is not water resistant at all. I play outdoor sports a lot, and this sunscreen is gone after one sweat.
