Comments about RESIST Retinol Serum - 1 oz:
I bought this sometime ago and began using it. At first when I had some acne appear, I didn't think it was from the use of this but when I stopped using it the acne disappeared. Very disappointing. I should have returned since it is so pricey.ca
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Perfect balance for aging skin
from New England
I was hesitant to use this product as it is heavier than I normally use and I am prone to acne. But now that I'm over 60, I need a bit more moisture in my retinol treatments and this is the perfect balance -- not too heavy, and absorbs quickly. Younger people with serious acne might not want to use this due to the added moisturizer, but for me it's ideal, especially with the brightening vitamins added. I've tried prescription Retin-A from my dermatologist, which comes in an emollient, petroleum jelly-type base (super heavy, to offset the irirritants.) Paula's Retinol is much more gentle, and really quite as effective, IMHO. I usually find that retinol helps control acne -- after all, Retin-A was originally an anti-acne RX.

Great Product | Deplorable Packaging
By Marja M.
from Alameda, CA
I use the product on a daily basis, at nighttime.A few drops are all that's needed to cover my face. Apply after cleansing & toning, before moisturizing. It softens my skin, works on skin discoloration and softens fine lines and wrinkles. What's not so great is the packaging itself. I've had two bottles break on me; specifically the pumping mechanism. And, because the product must be in an airtight container, there's no salvaging the remaining product.

caused acne breakouts on me
from Atlanta, GA
Used this product for several months before I realized that it was causing my skin to break out on my cheeks, temples, forehead, and chin. I phased the product in because it contains retinol which can cause my skin irritation and dryness. I was very careful to avoid irritation, but it never dawned on me that this product would cause breakouts. I'm confident that the breakouts are not the result of purging because the acne increased over time and is going away now that I've stop using the product.

Holy Grail Retinol
from Long Beach, CA
I have tried other retinol products for almost a year before trying this. I had to discontinue all of the others because they dried out my skin and made my skin look worse!! This retinol is different! I started out using this two nights a week over toner, then three nights and now I use this four nights a week over toner and under moisturizer- sometimes moisturizer with two drops of Resist Vitamin C Booster or sometimes moisturizer with two drops argan oil. The next day my skin looks firmer, brighter, pore size looks smaller and my skin generally looks healthier. For me, this is a very important part of my anti-aging skin care routine!! I should add that I do not use my AHA on nights I use this.

I love th his product
This is the most amazing product I have ever used. A little drop is enough to make my skin so soft and nourished. I don't know if it really helps wrinkles, I assume this takes time, and I just started using it.

I'm Loving This Serum
from Stouffville, ON
About Me Beauty Expert
I've never used a Retinol product like this one before. I love love love this product - everything from the great packaging to the wonderful silky texture this serum has - almost like a light oil - it's hard to describe but it goes on beautifully and it doesn't irritate my skin at all. Other Retinol products I've used have caused dryness and flaking, but not this one. I've been using it twice a day right after the Beta Hydroxy 1% exfoliator. I follow it up in the daytime with a paula's moisturizer with sunscreen. Excellent product.

One of the few PC products that I dislike - bad texture.
from Hinsdale, IL
PC products have completely changed my skin, but this one is not a keeper. The sticky texture makes it basically unusable for me, and much to my chagrin I think I will throw it out before using it up. It's a thick, sappy substance that does not absorb well into my skin and makes me wake up feeling like my face is dirty and greasy instead of glowy. To be blunt, I hate it.I strongly prefer the clinical 1% retinol treatment, which is much more like a serum/light cream and absorbs beautifully.

Packaging is terrible
from Chattanooga, TN
It is difficult to rate the product itself because I find myself using it only part of the time because the packaging is terrible. Upon opening the box the first time, the top part of the dispenser fell off. Ever since, the dispenser will not seat properly on the pump and so only dribbles of product come out. It may be that this product, like the many PC products I have used in the past, is fabulous. But using this is an exercise in frustration each and every time.
