    New Favorite
    • My skin has begun reacting to the Skin Recovery Moisturizer with SPF. It's all of a sudden too emollient or something. I had loved it so don't plan to throw it out, but for now, it's wrong for me. I had a sample of this sunscreen and tried it for the first time today. HELLO. It was maybe the right product for me all along. No redness. No pink. No grease. No clogged pores. No anything. Why I've already ordered some. And maybe I just got a bad batch of the other. It was a new tube. Unsure.

    A pleasure to use
    • I ordered this sunscreen despite some negative reviews and am glad I did! I have worn sunscreen for years, but never enjoyed putting it on each morning - till now. The formula is truly luxurious. I have combination skin, but it's not overly emollient - it absorbs beautifully, leaving my skin soft and dewy. Any white cast fades in a minute or two. This preps my skin perfectly for makeup. Thank you for an amazing product!

    My Face Loves This Sunscreen!!!
    • I adore this sunscreen! I have fair skin that is very sensitive, with rosacea and sun sensitivity. This sunscreen does wonders for my skin. For some reason, my skin responds better to this than to the Resist Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer. I don't know why and the diffrerence is subtle but consistent and this sunscreen makes my skin look luscious. I have no trouble with a white cast or application. I frequently wear it under my P.C. foundation and it looks fantastic. Of course, with the SPF rating, I would not be able to use it alone on days that I'm going to be outside a lot, especially in the intense sunlight of summer months, but I rarely am due to my sensitivities. Keep up the good work, Paula and team!

Love the product, but hard to remove the seal.
    • This sunscreen is like medicine to my sensitive rosacea-afflicted skin. Sometimes I put it on when my face feels irritated, even when not going outside and not needing sunscreen, just because the product is so very soothing. My only complaint is that the seal over the bottle is very difficult to remove. A pull tab would really help. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. We will certainly pass along your comments and feedback about the packaging to Paula! We are currently improving all our packaging and trying to make the bottles/tubes easier to use. Please contact customer care with any questions, we are happy to help.

Effective on the pocket and the face
    • Great product. Definitely provides good protection: I was in direct sun for 3 hours with this stuff on my face and not a hint of pink - I tend to burn very easily and this provided top-notch protection. And it's silky. The quantity of antioxidants in this product is a bit underwhelming, but for the price it can't be beat. Highly recommended.

    Amazing
    • This product is amazing. I have very sensitive fair skin that burns easily. I use it every day under my makeup - it almost acts as a primer! It containes zinc oxide which offers excellent protection that other chemical screens do not. Awesome.

    Physical Mineral sunscreen
    • When I first used this, it was definitely a major shock! I only used a tiny bit and it came out so white on my tanned skin. It took a lot of vigorous rubbing and a long time before the white cast would even go away - I felt that the white only went away because I rubbed the sunscreen away. I only use this on my legs now since people won't notice the scary difference in skin tone from the rest of my body. I put it on my arms if I'm going out to run though since I don't have to worry about my skin looking nice. The plus side is that I don't have to wait as long as with a chemical sunscreen.

Decent for body, but not for face
    • I originally ordered this product hoping that I could use it everyday for a facial sunscreen. Unfortunately, the product left my naturally light skin a bit too white. The sunscreen actives seemed to settle into the lines of my face and exaggerate any dry skin, especially around the eyes. I suppose if you applied make-up over it, the white cast could be alleviated. Though for people that don't wear make-up (like myself), this isn't an option. Obviously, this product can be applied to the skin of the body without and major issues. One more issue I had with the product was that the amount of antioxidants seemed to be on the skimpy side, especially when compared to the other sunscreens with chemical actives, so those of us that have sensitivities to these actives are out of luck. I plan on trying another product designed for facial skin from the Paula's Choice line, because honestly their products have the most quality for your money.

    Sunscreen HEAVEN :)
    • I've been using this product for years now (8 or more) I pray that it never discontinues.. like others say, yes it leaves a little minor white residue and yes it shows a little hint of white when you get wet but I weigh the other options.. Cancer, chemo or _____!!! :) I vote for the minor imperfections. I have snow white Irish skin (sensitive, allergies) and my daughter is African American mix (brown) very sensitive skin (eczema, allergies). I wanted to point that out because of the previous comments I'm seeing. I wouldnt trade this for any other sunscreen. Perfect because of the ingredients (for my little one) and it doesnt irritate us sensitive folks... Absolutely love that it's perfect for my 3.5 year old! Been using it on her since birth! I too find it helps her eczema.Maybe this will help some....I find if you apply a light moisturizer, wait 5 min and then apply this sunscreen it rubs in smoother. You will still see a bit of it when you're wet. I also used this sunscreen in Punta Cana and only one application saved my delicate skin ALL DAY LONG.. no sunburn! I'm not sure that a higher SPF is needed?Anyway, just wanted to share my two cents. I'm a long time devoted user! Thank You to you Paula and your amazing team!!!!!!!!

    Mild, but ghostly!
    • First, the good: this sunscreen is very gentle and non-irritating on my sensitive skin, and never stings my eyes, which is a huge plus. It also adds just the right amount of moisture for me... I live in the dry Nevada desert, so even though I have somewhat oily skin, I still need some daily moisture, and this product leaves me moist without adding grease or shine, which is great. So I really wanted to love this sun screen! But unfortunately, it leaves a bluish-white cast on my skin, even when applied sparingly and rubbed in well. The white cast stays there all day. I have VERY pale skin, and I don't choose to wear foundation every day, so the last thing I need is to look even MORE pale. I thought about returning it, but shipping stuff back is so costly and time consuming that it hardly makes sense to ship back just one item. My quest for a workable sunscreen continues... it's very frustrating, because chemical sunscreens make my eyes burn and mineral sunscreens ALWAYS white me out. If Paula could invent a non-whitening mineral sunscreen for face and body, I'd be in heaven! Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. Any mineral sunscreen will leave a bit of a white cast, some more than others. Another option you may consider which leaves the least amount of white cast is the RESIST Ultimate Anti-Aging Hand Cream SPF 30+ which may certainly be used on the face and many have found it works great as a facial moisturizer. We will leave the purchase price of this product on your account which may be used on a future phone order and send samples of the hand cream to try. Please contact customer care with any questions.

    Just Ok
    • I bought this sunscreen because I loved the idea of mineral sunblock. As others have mentioned, I do wish it came in a higher SPF, as the sun in Georgia is hot! The sunscreen doesn't absorb as well as I would have liked, and gives a white chalky appearance to my skin. Also if you go in the water it turns white! It's very difficult to wash off, too. I try to scrub it off in the shower and can never seem to fully remove it. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review. This product is a rich texture which makes it excellent as a water resistant sunscreen while being gentle and moisturizing. If you prefer a lighter sunscreen you may consider the Extra Care Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 30+ and we will certainly pass along your comments and feedback to Paula about the product. We have left an in house credit on your account for this product which may be used on a future phone order and please contact customer care with any questions.

    • I use this on my young daughter before I take her to school. I just hope that it stays on until the time the kids go on the playground. It does not irritate her eczema-prone skin and seems to moisturize it.

    • I purchased this product to use on my sone who is 21 months. I love that it has minimal smell to it and absorbs easily. I use it mainly when he is outdorrs in our heavily shaded backyard, but would LOVE you to make on that is 30 or higher so we can use it everyday.

    Higher SPF
    • I love Paula's Choice products! My only criticism is that the mineral sunscreen only comes in SPF 15. There is an SPF 25 sunscreen-moisturizer, but this is unhelpful for people with oily skin. I wish Paula's Choice had more options for me to protect my very sensitive, pale skin from the sun. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your review and suggestions!

    Very Happy
    • I've been using Paula's products since 2004 and this will be my first review. I would love to hate this stuff, but can't. Yes, it goes on terribly and makes my olive to tan skin tone look horribly purple. But it takes me a few minutes to brush my teeth and when I'm done, this lotion sets to a beautiful, satin finish. It smooths out my dry areas, but doesn't aggravate my oily areas. It also provides a wonderful base for my foundation, be it Paula's or a powder foundation that I use. This lotion is deceptively wonderful!!!!!!!

    • LOVE this under my makeup and even around my eyes with no stinging or smell. It blends and absorbs well and only takes a small amount for coverage. I hated using sunscreen on my face due to the strong smell and stinging if it ran into my eyes. This is a must have.

Wonderful sunscreen even for combination skin!
    • This is a gorgeous sunscreen! It's unfortunately not available in my country (Australia) but I ordered it from the States, over the net after reading other users' reviews. I have combination (oily T-zone) skin but use a retinol product which can make my skin sensitive/dry. I hate greasy feeling sunscreens. This feels light and lovely. When lightly rubbed in, the white cast disappears on me (I am pale anyway) and the result is matte, glowing and soft. I can't feel any heaviness at all on my face after applying this. I haven't experienced any issues with breakouts from daily use of this. On days outdoors, I have used this underneath the Clinique City Block spf 25 sunscreen, with Paula's Heathy Finish pressed powder on top, just to be sure I'm covered.

    My #1 PC product!
    • I cannot believe I've never made my feelings known about this product. It is the ONE lotion I've used every day, without fail, since I tried it about 6 years ago. Each morning, I slather it on my face, neck, upper chest,& arms. Before it fully sinks into my face, I apply a small amount of PC foundation & my skin looks clear & even. Lately, I've used the Resist 'toner' first, followed by this sunscreen, & my skin looks even better. I've seen both a dermatologist & a plastic surgeon during these 6 years & both wildly complimented my skin. And neither EVER tried to sell me any of their in-house 'featured' skincare line. How could they, after just telling me how well I'm doing?Anyway, this sunscreen has plenty of antioxidants, & the minerals help my mild rosacea. The whitish cast disappears in minutes, &, for me, it works wonders as a daytime moisturizer. Talk about a major bang for your buck! This is IT.Please never discontinue it!

    Higher SPF??
    • Why can't this product be made with a higher SPF?? I love the texture of this product over others I have tried, but I need a higher SPF for the Oklahoma sun. I can only use mineral sunscreens and not the chemical ones as they give me a chemical burn. I am also allergic to soy which elimates your other mineral sunscreen with the higher SPF. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your feedback, we will pass along your comments to Paula. We do have another mineral sunscreen with SPF 25 which you may try. This is called Resist Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 which is a great moisturizing texture and very gentle. Feel free to check it out. We will have some samples of it mailed out for you to try. Please contact Customer Care via Phone, Live Chat, or Email for further assistance.

    Please UP the SPF
    • I love the texture, but wish SPF was much higher since I hyperpigment easily. This isn't greasy and blends in once it sets. Yes, it will make you look a little lighter, but all mineral sunscreens do - however, mineral sun protection is superior over chemical and the only option if you hyperpigment. I can't figure out how others remove this sunscreen since the only way I can remove it is with Paula's makeup remover. Customer Care Response: Thank you for your feedback, we will pass along your comments to Paula and her Product Development team. For another option please consider our Resist Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 which is a mineral sunscreen. Please let us know if you would like samples to try.

    Great for Sensitive Skin
    • I'm highly allergic to sunscreen. This is the only one I've been able to use without a reaction and I really like it. Even though there's no claim that it's waterproof, it has held up well when I've gone swimming. The only downside is that it does my skin look pale under makeup. So I use it for outdoor activities only.

    Perfect sunscreen
    • I have yet to be disappointed in a Paula's Choice product. I have oily, acne-prone, very sensitive skin. This sunscreen goes on beautifully and has never stung. Even though this is indicated for very dry skin, my oily skin tolerates it fine. It has never broken me out. Of course, I'm using Paula's Clear line so maybe that's why. Thank you so much for your wonderful products Paula. You've got me for life.

I notice I get a white cast after applying Pure Mineral Sunscreen. Anything I can do to minimize this?

Some people, typically those with medium to tan or olive skin tones, will notice a bit of a white to pale violet cast after applying Pure Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15. This is due to the amount of mineral actives (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) this sunscreen contains. If this happens to you, here is our best tip to get around this issue:

Experiment by applying a drop or two of a sheer bronzing gel (Clinique makes a good one) over Pure Mineral Sunscreen. You can also mix a drop or two of the bronzing gel with the sunscreen before applying. The bronze will offset the white cast and should make your skin tone look more natural without losing the sun protection this provides. Of course you can also apply a Paula's Choice foundation with sunscreen over Pure Mineral Sunscreen or any of our other daytime moisturizers with sunscreen.

How is Pure Mineral Sunscreen different from the Essential Non-Greasy and Extra Care Non-Greasy Sunscreens?

The major difference between Pure Mineral Sunscreen and the other Paula's Choice SPF sunscreens is that Pure Mineral Sunscreen does not contain synthetic sunscreens such as octinoxate and avobenzone. Although "chemical" sunscreens are effective, they can be too irritating for sensitive skins, especially when used around the eyes.

My skin is definitely sensitive, but also prone to breakouts. Is Pure Mineral Sunscreen an option for me?

Although Pure Mineral Sunscreen poses little to no risk of causing irritation and is a very effective broad-spectrum sunscreen, the fact is that titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are occlusive ingredients that may clog pores. It would be best to sample this sunscreen and use it exclusively for a while to gauge how your skin will react to it.
