About Me Beauty Conscious
Comments about RESIST 1% Retinol Booster - 0.5 oz:
Sooo disappointed in this highly anticipated product. I purchased this last year, and have tried to use it on multiple occasions. The first time I tried it, I ended up with a red itchy rash the next day. Waited a month until the rash resolved and my face cleared again. Then tried it once more, this time very sparingly. By the next night, again a red itchy face. Ugh! Gave it long breaks and tried it a few more times over the past year, but could never get past 1 application.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

About Me Beauty Expert
I have used this product since PC debuted it a couple of years ago. I like it better than PC's Clinical 1% Retinol product, which has a heavier texture than this 1% Booster. My skin is truly combination/oily, and I've learned after trying both retinol products that the Booster's lighter texture works best for me. Even though both products contain 1% retinol, I found that the Clinical product would sometimes cause a reddened, burn-like appearance and painful sensitivity on my face--accompanied by eventual peeling--and I would have to stop using that product for several days up to a week in order for my skin to calm down. But with the 1% Booster, I've never experienced that level of skin irritation; I've only seen consistently good results in terms of keeping my skin clear and youthful-looking, with no irritation whatsoever. I usually apply the Booster directly to my face, without mixing it into any other products. Overall, it is a must-have product for me and I will continue using it for as long as it's available.

Love it! And figured out how to dispense just a drop.
from Vancouver BC
I love this stuff-- I have sensitive skin and rosacea. By using Paula's Choice products and avoiding certain trigger foods I've gotten both under control and my skin is looking great! This is the only retinol product I'm able to use. I love that I can customize the strength and that I can add it to a moisturizer that my skin likes. I tend to use this every other night, or every two nights, depending on how my skin feels. I also figured out how to dispense just a drop-- you lightly push the pump down, about half of a centimeter and a small drop is dispensed. If you push down harder and push the pump all the way a larger amount comes out. Getting the retinol to come out in a drop has been a great way to get a consistent amount of product, which makes it easier to mix into my Resist moisturizer. Before I was just wasting the excess product and I'd still end up using too much and irritating my skin. The product doesn't feel sticky or filmy. There's a really, really, light, faint scent that I don't notice after I apply. (For what it's worth, I do not like scented facial products.)

I was a bit apprehensive about using Retinol on my skin as it is very sensitive. I used it a few times a week and then gradually increased to every night. I have had no averse reactions and I love the way my skin feels in the morning. The formula is a little greasy so I have to wait a while before I apply my moisturizer over it but the results have been well worth the extra few minutes it adds to my nighttime skincare routine. I'd definitely repurchase this product.

skin dried up looked awful
from Merced, ca
My skin look so dried and awful after using this a few times. Would not recommend to anyone who is trying to even soften fine lines.
This is a good stuff, light weight, no oil no silicone
About Me Minimalist
This is the only high potency retinol I found on the market without heavy silicone or oil. It has a very lightweight texture, which makes it super easy to be blended in my serum or moisturizer. I have high tolerance on retinol so I start with one pump every night. My acne is dramatically reduced in 2 months and my skin feels much softer. The only drawback of this product is way too small and way too pricey. But I will keep using it because really like the texture.

Dispenser is awful, serum seems okay
I was excited about this retinold product when I ordered it. However after using it I am no longer excited, rather I am frustrated. I purchased this after a wanting to increase my percentage of retinol from 0.1% to a little stronger percentage. After talking with a Paula expert I chose this because it was said that I could apply a drop to my nightly moisturizer and get about 0.3% total. This sounds nice but the dispenser is a pump. It is a plastic bottle similar to some of the other Resist pumps (like the Resist body retinol). So this makes it almost impossible to get a drop. You end up with a full pump, sometimes half a pump if you are lucky. The serum itself has little to no smell, feels silky, and has not iritated my skin at all. That said I will not reorder this because it is a bit pricey for 15mL especially when you cannot control the amount you want to use any better. I will be out soon and have only had this for a few weeks. It should have lasted a much longer time. Very disappointing. I think when I am out I will reorder a 0.25% retinol serum from another company and when I feel comfortable with 1% maybe try the Clinical Retinol from Paulas line. I just hate wasting the serum because I get too much out and do not want to dry out my face.

This did not have any effect on my skin at all, good or bad. It's lightweight, is absorbed quickly and doesn't smell pleasing (but that doesn't matter really). There is a halfway point that you should be using to measure the drops. But for so little, it is seriously pricey. The recommendation is to add 2-3 drops to your serum or moisturizer. I went all the way up to 6 drops, still nothing. For something that's a booster, 1% in 2-3 drops over the entire face results in the product being spread so thinly there might as well not be any at all. If it wasn't for the fact that Paula's Choice never lies about the contents of the products, I would've thought that there isn't any retinol at all in this.Furthermore, there's only 15ml of product here. It isn't going to last long even at 2-3 drops a day, not to mention 6. Although I haven't personally tried the other 1% retinol product, you might want to start there instead. It might be more effective and more cost efficient.
really fights multiple skin issues

I use it 2 to 3 times per week and noticed the improving of skin profile and brightening it up. Typically, add 2-3 drops to my serum and apply all over the face, neck and decollate. The result is not immediate but getting more obvious as time passes.

I love that I can control the amount of the product that I use. I can vary the amount I want on a daily basis depending on how my skin is feeling that day while still getting results. Even with acne prone skin and rosacea my skin is happy.
