My husband loves it!

About Me Budget Buyer
Comments about RESIST Replenishing Toner - 4 oz:
My husband tried mine a year ago. Since that time he has made sure I re-order it for him so he never runs out. He is 60ish, and it makes him look and feel refreshed. He uses it before applying sunscreen.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Tried this out to replace my empty Skin Recovery toner (which was out of stock for ages), and glad I did! This is a little fancier, a little pricier (albeit), and a little thicker. It shakes more than it pours onto the cotton ball/pad and is more like a watery lotion. Therefore, I try to transfer it straight to my face as opposed to actually soaking the cotton, which would be a waste of product, esp. with this toner. (The consistency, IMO, is almost exactly the same as Clinique's Even Better Essence Lotion for dry-combo skin, and at a fraction of the price.) I have also found this does a little bit more for my face than the Skin Recovery toner, as far as brightening goes. Now that it's starting to get hot and I live in a more humid climate, I have started using the Skin Balancing toner to keep pores and breakouts at bay. Paula's always says to tone before moisturizing, but they also have an article about using richer toners for oilier/combo skins as a lighter moisturizing option. This can serve alternately as a toner and/or as a light "pre-moisturizer." For me, it works perfectly under the Calm-Oily SPF moisturizer to boost hydration I need and would be struggling to get otherwise. Usually I skip the cotton and apply it with my fingers after the Skin Balancing toner. Due to the impressive results of this product, I will probably try more samples from the "dark blue" Resist line.

Did not work well with my skin :(
About Me Brand Buyer
Don't get me wrong, Paula's products have changed my life, and I am an avid fan of most of many PC products I've tried. However, this toner did not play well with my mature, sensitive, combination to dry skin. At first, it took some getting used to, as the liquid is very thick compares to most toners. I wasted a bit in the early days trying it out. And it didn't seem to actually do anything, honestly. But I know it can take some time to see results, so I persisted. Then after a few weeks of use, I noticed my skin was breaking out. Finally determined this toner was the culprit, so I've stopped using it. The bulk of my skin care is PC, but I had to go back to a different brand for a dry skin toner. Obviously my experience isn't the norm (lots of 5 stars here!) but there's something in the Resist toner that irritates my skin.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I love that this doesn't dry my skin out like most toners. It's not harsh at all and there is no alcohol smell. Great product. I'm deducting one star because I hate the package. The bottle is too firm to squeeze and so you have to do this awkward shake to get it out onto your cotton ball. Not enough comes out at once either...it's just awkward. Packaging could be better.

A hydrating drink for skin!
from Phoenix, Arizona
This has blown my expectations of how a toner should perform out of the water. This is definitely not the Seabreeze that I grew up using.Even if I keep my showers shorter and cooler after I step out I feel my skin starting to tighten with dryness (thank you hard Phoenix city water!). Silky and smooth, I pour a little bit into my hands and pat the product across my face. Immediately I feel my skin go "ahhhh, relief!" with moisture and healing ingredients, it's a great base for the rest of my products.

Can be used as an essence too
I used to apply it with a cotton pad as a toner on the days that my oily combo skin was dehydrated and I liked it. But then I decided to use it directly on my face with my fingers as an extra step between my toner (PC skin balancing pore-reducing toner) and my serum and since then I like it a lot better. This way I can call it an "essence" that you might have heard about as an extra step that is getting trendy these days. I don't mean that the essences are a necessity, neither do I use it for the sake of the essence. I just enjoy how quickly it absorbs leaving my face so hydrated. I do add my moisturizer on top of it though. But if you are someone with oily skin who have been shying away from the moisturizers so far, you will change your mind by using it as a moisturizer.
