What did they do to my holy grail product?

I have used the retinol booster for about 2 years now. I use it alone, every night. My skin has never been better! Until this week. When I reordered last month it was the "new packaging". I started the new bottle this week. I used it like the old bottle and after 2 uses, my skin is angry! Red and peeling like crazy! Please use caution. I'll try it again in a couple of days. I am so sad that they changed my favorite product!

Same problem with below reviewer....

I've been using this product since it came out, on a daily or near daily basis and love it. My skin is highly tolerant. Last week I popped open a new bottle (I had just purchased two to have a spare). I used it two days in a row and the third day my skin was peeling, red and painful. It looked like I had a severe chemical burn. I thought that it was a combination of the retinol and the new peptide booster so I laid off everything. It was so bad it took my skin a week to recover. Finally, back to normal with my skin looking great two nights ago I used the retinol again. Did not use it the next day so I could use the peptide booster. Today I woke up and my skin is peeling off in sheets again, although not quite as red and irritated as it was last week, but last week I had used the retinol two days in a row. Again I thought it was the peptide booster even though I had been using that for a couple weeks with no issue so I checked the reviews there to see if anyone else had a problem. Nope. For the heck of it I popped over here and sure enough, another reviewer is having the same problem. This is definitely not the same formula, which I was able to use daily with no issues whatsoever. This is causing my skin to react the way it did when I used the clinical retinol product, which is why I switched to this.

Did they change the formula?

I've been using the 1% Retinol Booster every night for years, mixing it with Vitamin C booster. My skin glows. But my most recent purchase of this product is not the same as before. I used the new bottle once & my entire face was peeling & I had burning skin?! What gives? Nothing else has changed in my skin care routine, or life, that would explain this. I waited a week for it all to settle down, then tried it again, with the same results. Anyone else finding the formula different?

I am not in love.

I have used for the six months the Original Retinol Treatment by Paula's Choice and I loved it. However, when it come time to repurchase I decided to try the newer Retinol Booster. First of all the price is so much more for only 15ml of the Booster. Second, the Retinol Booster even when mixed with hydrating cream, leaves my skin so thight and dry. I will going back to my favorite original Retinol Treatment no more Booster for me.

Not for me

I was very excited to try this product, especially after reading so many great reviews. I followed the directions carefully and now my face is red and blotchy with a lot of dry patchy skin. My skin is usually a combination of oily and normal. I am very afraid to try this product again ... sigh ...

Great product but goes really fast

Great product - i have acne and fine lines (age 41). I've been using it for about 3-4 weeks, have not had a breakout since and the texture of my skin has improved. Too soon to tell if it has done anything for the fine lines, but my issue is that i am already out. I have been using it night and day and using just enough to cover my face. At $50 bucks a month this is rather pricey. I had no irritation or peeling or any side effects but i also do not have sensitive skin.

Impressive results!

The results I get from thus products are the most noticeable of any product I have tried. It evens my skin tone and texture, reduces my pore size and minimizes fine lines. I tried the Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment a while back and it wasn't right for me. I have oily skin and it was too rich and felt heavy to me. This 1% Retinol Booster is much better. It has a thinner, lighter texture that is better for my skin type. I have been using this for almost a month now, 3 or 4 times a week and have not had any irritation or reactions. The results this product delivers are great and I noticed them after the first use. Well done, PC!

Holy Grail Retinol Product (and I've tried a lot)

I have done a lot of research on retinol and experimented with a lot of products, and this is my go-to retinol product. I'm shocked to see reviews that comment on it being harsh, as I've never had any irritation or negative reaction to this product at all, even from the first use (which is why I love it!). I do get a bit of peeling with the PC 1% Clinical Retinol, which is why I've settled on this one. I only trust PC for my otc retinol because they take the research seriously and package it with incredible care. If you're using a retinol product that is in a clear container exposed to light, you should probably shop elsewhere. Same goes for exposure to air. I totally trust the PC packaging 100%. I know this product can be used on its own, but I love that I can add it to my other serums. Because it is a light texture, I add it with my first layer of light watery serums, before I add the second layer of thicker serums (1x/day, before bed). I mix them together in the palm of my hand and than apply to my face. Any leftover goes on my neck, decolletage, and backs of my hands. Since beginning use 6+ months ago, my skin is brighter and more even-toned. Fine lines have reduced. I'm so excited to see what else it will do in the upcoming months/years, because I plan to continue using it as long as it is available! I don't think this is available in sample size, and it can be tough to to jump on an expensive product without having an option for samples, but I'm on the website tonight purchasing my third bottle (and I'm buying two tonight) - so it it might be worth it to take the chance! Save your box and insert in case you decide to return it for your $$ back, but I guarantee you won't!!

Not for every day if you have sensitive skin.

I'm 28 and this is the first retinol product I've ever used on my face (not including eye creams). If you have super sensitive skin this isn't great to use every day unless you want a one way ticket to dermatitis city, but alternating this with the 10% Niacinamide has made a huge difference in my fine lines and skin texture. I only add one drop to my CosRX Snail Mucin serum at night and that seems to be plenty. Will definitely repurchase this now that I've learned how to use it appropriately!

Not for sensitive skin

I used this about a year ago and am still having complications from it. My skin was too sensitive and it created bags under my eyes that look like they are full of fluid. About once a month they get inflamed and red and sore like they are burned.
