Such a nice gel cleanser and an improvement on Hydralight

5

I had bought a bottle of Hydralight and used it up completely. I then bought a second bottle of the Calm as I had purchased this in the past. Calm cleanser is so nice. It is a lightweight, jelly type cleanser that does clean gently but doesn't have the "thicker, syrupy" texture of Hydralight. It also has plant extracts, gentle non sulfate detergents and is fragrance free. It is basically an updated version of a gel cleanser like Hydralight. Now, Hydralight is fine as a cleanser. I just think PC used the latest research and came out with an even better cleanser. I am using this as my nighttime cleanser after using the Perfect Cleansing Oil. My skin feels soft, clean and without any redness or dryness. Since I am not as oily as I used to be, I may try the gel instead of the Skin Balancing Cleanser. Both are great, but pay attention to your skin type!!

I'm Amazed! Redness is Gone

5

I am so grateful to have found this line! I have struggled with mild acne and oily skin my whole life. I'm also very cautious of trying new products because most cleansers make me break out. Recently, I started having problems with redness and tiny pimples. My doctor told me it was rosacea, and it came and went for weeks, but never really went away. It was horrible! Redness, bumps, inflamed skin. One day it was so bad, I canceled a meeting. I was using 2 other products from Paula's Choice (Resist tinted moisturizer and a dark spot corrector) and really liked them so I decided to jump in and use this line completely. I am blown away by how fantastic my skin looks. I am using this cleanser with the 2% BHA Skin Perfecting lotion, then the Calm Repair serum and moisturizer. During the day, I use the Resist that is the tinted moisturizer with SPF and at night I use the Calm moisturizer. I love everything and I'm so glad I turned to these products for help. The redness and bumps are gone.

Didn't work for me

This cleanser did not seem to clean well, but the worst part was the smell. Yuck. Glad I bought a sample. That's a huge benefit of PC: samples.

I really wanted to like this...

On paper, this stuff is everything I'm looking for. When the CALM line was first introduced, I didn't hesitate to order a bottle once I finished my previous cleanser since I've had pretty good luck with the PC products I've tried. However, this cleanser seemed to do the exact opposite of its description; the redness around my nose and chin were exacerbated, my skin was dry and tight and became dull and sensitive. I tried using it a few more times in different ways (only at night, every three days, etc) but it was no use. It does a decent job at cleaning my beauty sponges though.

LOVE this cleanser!

I use the entire Calm line morning and night. It has saved my skin (and sinuses). I have sensitive and breakout prone skin that has recently also become oily, and a sensitivity to perfumes/chemicals. Most products are either too harsh and severely dry out my skin, or are too perfumey and make me sick. This is the best of both worlds; an unscented cleanser that has finally balanced out my problematic skin. I have also tried the Hydrolite cleanser, but found it not nearly as effective at removing makeup. Please don't ever discontinue this cleanser!!

Very nice cleanser

I wanted to compare this to the Hydralight and have to say that it is excellent. The ingredients are state of the art, it is lighter and silkier feeling than the Hydralight. I personally use it as a morning cleanser and the Skin Balancing at night. There is no irritation or stinging with this cleanser, and it does not leave the skin feeling dry at all.

I like it for mornings, but I feel that Balancing cleanser works better for make-up removing

I love This

5

I use this am and pm. I used to have to use two different cleansers-one to get my makeup off and one to be gentle in the am. This one does both. I do not break out with my acne prone skin and my rosacea is not bothered either. I am 59. Do not get rid of this product!
