Like a holy grail of moisturizers

The texture is amazing and seriously feels great. I sometimes go a little crazy and smoother my face in it and literally wake up with a glow. This is in my permanent beauty collection. I have sensitive oily combo skin and tried so many moisturizers over the years and even many different PC's, I found this one being the best for my skin type. Little expensive but seriously worth in investing in your skin. Total game changer for sensitive types.

Only moisturizer that doesn't make my skin turn bright red!

I love this product. I have searched for SO LONG for a moisturizer that doesn't activate my red cheeks. This one works really well and even helps reduce the redness. Please never discontinue this product it has literally changed my life! Thanks Paula's Choice!

Redness be gone. STAYS matte without dehydrating your skin.

If you have sensitive/reactive, combo/oily, acne prone skin this moisturizer is MADE for you! The hydration is long lasting, the finish stays matte, and most importantly...NO breakouts. The calming ingredients actually seem to heal any inflamed blemishes I have and significantly reduces redness. It absorbs quickly and feels weightless. This product is a great base/primer for makeup but leaves your skin with such a nice finish I've been enjoying leaving my skin bare. Most moisturizers make my skin shiny, cause perioral dermatitis, and leave behind a residue which for me translates to more blemishes and overall inflammation. This product is the opposite. Even if you don't have sensitive skin but are oily or acne prone and don't think the Calm line is for you, I'd urge you to give this moisturizer a try. It has truly solved all of my skin issues in one bottle.

Awesome lightweight moisturizer for its intended skin type

This formula is similar to the Skin Balancing Moisture Gel though it omits the niacinamide and wheat germ oil of the aforementioned formula; in their place skin is treated to a bevy of all-star soothing agents including two forms of licorice extract plus allantoin, beta-glucan, willow herb, burdock root, green tea, algae, grape seed and pantheon—WOW! (Now if only this gel contained the sea whip and feverfew that are included in the CALM Redness Relief Repairing Serum and perhaps some aloe vera gel then it would be an absolute slam dunk) When time allows I apply a more generous amount of this as a soothing mask and let it rest on the face for 10-15 minutes before rubbing in the excess. If you have sensitive skin that seeks a lightweight soothing moisturizer then CALM Redness Relief Moisturizer for Normal to Oily Skin is highly recommended!

Wish I would have tried this sooner

I tried this in the sample size and after a week was convinced that this would be my forever moisturizer. I don't like to spend so much on one product but this stuff is so worth it. It absorbs nicely and is completely non greasy. My skin feels so smooth, I haven't been using a primer and my patchy dry spots have gone away completely. So far in combination with the rest of my routine, my acne has gotten better, where as before every time I tried a new moisturizer I was holding my breath waiting for my skin to freak out. If you have sensitive skin that seems to hate everything, this is the one for you.

Completely Wiped Out My Acne

5

I have combination skin and only use this in my T-zone (where my skin is oily) and it's completely stopped breakouts from happening in that area. I've been getting acne there for close to 10 years and nothing has worked up until I started using this (it's been 3 months and I've been completely clear of any pimples). It's amazing that a moisturizer could do this — So grateful!

Life changing

Every time I read reviews I go straight towards the 4 star. This is because I felt nothing can be prefect, everything has some flaws, and that the 4 stars were overall more honest. That was until I tried this product! I've never rated anything utterly prefect before. I've always been self-conscious about my skin and that it was red. However, in the short time I've used this, IT HAS FOREVER CHANGED MY SKIN. It feels and looks amazing. I have no redness now. I could not be more pleased with a skin care product. It's my holy grail for sure!

So great under makeup

I don't understand the negative reviews, but everyone's skin is different. I love the way this works under my foundation, I don't even need a primer. My skin feels and looks great when I use it. Thanks for this formulation.

Beautiful new product; stop complaining about Hydralight.

5

A couple years ago, when I first heard about PC, I sampled the Hydralight line, including the evening moisturizer. I recall it being basic, but quite decent for it's purpose. I wasn't blown away, but I liked it and totally understood why people with sensitive skin would enjoy it. Then a few months ago I sampled the Calm oily/combo line. I couldn't believe how fantastic this moisturizer was! The other components are really nice too (I quite like the serum), but this moisturizer is the standout performer of them all! It's really outstanding. A huge improvement, in my opinion, from Hydralight. My skin is fussy. I have mild to moderate acne, very irritated and hormonal (like yours truly). No cysts, but inflammation, white heads, etc. I have mild hyperpigmentation from old acne, as well as true blackheads and sebaceous filaments. My skin is kinda sometimes oily, but with rude little flaky dry patches around my nose and cheeks. The sides/temples of my face are incredibly irritable and are easily burned by skincare products. So to summarize, my skin a joyous pleasure to care for (intense sarcasm). PC has been a godsend. Not everything works for me, but non of it has hurt me, and some of it is truly Holy Grail level amazing. This moisturizer is the latter. It deserves more stars than it currently has. All the bitter Hydralight peeps came here to vent their (understandable) frustrations in hopes of getting their Holy Grail back, and in so doing have done this BEAUTIFUL product a disservice. Get samples, try it, ignore the ranty, it's-not-Hydralight reviews. You may love it as much as I do.

I like it better than Hydralight

5

Unlike most of these reviews, I actually like this better than the Hydralight SPF. I used to use hydralight a lot, even when it was the hand cream with spf - it was gentle, mineral (so doesn't bother my eyes), not greasy, and didn't break me out. This Calm SPF is a step up in my opinion. I find it much silkier and easier to spread, and it is slightly more moisturizing. My combination skin really likes it. It also just looks beautiful -- evens out the skin tone, reduces redness, and is not greasy. It even mattifies a bit. I just stocked up and plan to use this all summer. Maybe my skin isn't as oily as the others, so they prefer the less emollient feel of the Hydralight, but I choose this one.
