Additional Information

Why is it different?

CALM Redness Relief SPF 30 Mineral Moisturizer Normal to Oily Skin pampers sensitive, reddened skin with its gentle, broad-spectrum mineral-based sun protection and soothing antioxidants, all in an ultra-light silky lotion that leaves a soft matte finish.

Collapse
What does it do?
Moisturizes while providing soothing skin relief and preventing the appearance of premature aging from sun damage. The SPF 30 is a significant benefit as it decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun if used as directed with other sun protection measures. It’s gentle enough for sensitive skin and even suitable for skin prone to rosacea.

How to use

Use as the last step in your AM skincare routine. Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. If you don’t apply liberally, you will need to reapply every two hours after your skin is exposed to direct sunlight. If you plan to swim or perspire you must apply a water-resistant sunscreen.

I was a Hydralight user and thought I'd give Calm SPF normal to oily a try. It's creamier, more luxurious but not greasy or heavy at all. I am super impressed. I would expect something like this at double or triple the price point. So worth it. Calm SPF is my new moisturizer. Rain or shine.

The best I have been able to find! But not perfect

I use this after a lighter lotion to act as a separate sunscreen. I have combination skin so my cheeks are very dry but my nose is very oily. I like this product because I'm allergic to chemical sunscreen and have to use mineral ones. It has a thick lotion texture but it spreads out well. It leaves a bit of a white cast but I'm pale so I can't tell too much. It definitely feels soothing going on but it takes a bit of time rubbing in. It definitely does not have a matte finish. If you apply enough to keep you protected, you will be shiny unless you blot or have extremely dry skin. It is nicely hydrating though. If you have oily skin you're not going to like this since it isn't "matte" but it still works nicely. The packaging is also annoying as the hole in the nozzle is too big and product always comes out...which is a waste.

Somebody put out the fire on my face!

This stuff is amazing. I have been having the worst rosacea outbreak and nothing has helped. First Aid Beauty, Cerave, even the Hydralight from PC hasn't done it but this stuff is amazing. I ordered a sample with my last order and finally used some this morning. Within 20 minutes, I went online and ordered the entire line. It literally felt like somebody put out the fire that has been burning on my skin. I am a convert for life, Paula!

Not my favorite

I bought this sunscreen because it's a mineral base plus formulated for oily/red skin. However, this sunscreen does not wear well under makeup. I tried it with liquid and mineral and it's tricky to apply. I had to apply makeup right after I put on the sunscreen because the sunscreen dries and flakes under my makeup. It's definitely no the worst sunscreen I've used, but I will not buy buying it again. I've switched to the RESIST Youth Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid with SPF 50. It's a little pricier, but well worth it. I don't need a primer and it wears well under all my makeup.

My three kids' facial sunscreen for non beach/pool days...

This is the perfect lotion for my children's faces to apply each morning as I would apply a sunscreen. It is mineral based and won't burn or irritate.

Great SPF and moisturizer!

I used this product daily for about three months. It has a very nice texture and does not burn when applied to my eye area. This product does not seem to make my skin any less red, but it certainly doesn't make redness worse. When applying it does have the white cast that is common to mineral sunscreens. Once applied, the cast goes away in about five minutes. I have combination/acneic/sensitive skin. This did not cause me to break out. However, it does seem to be a little too heavy for my taste. I have been using the hydralite spf now for a couple of weeks and I prefer it. I think this is a great product and is worth a try from people with my skin type. But if it feels heavy for you too, try the hydralite spf.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

This sunscreen is perfect for my combination skin, it is very moisturizing and makes my skin feel soft. I have very sensitive acne prone skin and i have not had any breakouts so far which is good and my redness seems to cool down a bit as well. The only thing I do not like is the smell but I can oversee that from how great it works on my skin!

I'm picky and I recommend for sensitive skin

5

I don't have red skin or rosacea, but I do have very sensitive skin, including facial eczema in response to some make-up and eye creams. I've been using the product almost daily for three weeks. This is the ONLY sunscreen, mineral or chemical, that I've used that hasn't given me those irritation bumps around my chin and under my nose or caused breakouts. I have tried cetaphil, cerave, vanicream, almay, neutrogena, laroche-posay, and arcona to name a few. I use it as a sunscreen over my moisturizer. The initial application feels silky and moisturizing. As the day goes on I can see how some might find it slightly drying, but with my underlying moisturizer I don't have a problem with that - it does say normal-to-oily on the bottle. When I'm out I am going to try the normal-to-dry version. I am white, with olive undertones and I don't find this gives me a ghostly cast like other mineral sunscreens. I'm super picky and I highly recommend you try if you have sensitive skin.

New formulation = Amazing!

5

I have been using this moisturizer for approximately 6 months and agreed with past reviews that while this didn't cause a break-out, it did go on quite greasy and took a while to absorb into the skin. I believe PC released a new formulation, as my most recent order which arrived a few days ago (8/2) goes on much more matte, has a slightly different scent (i think they eliminated cucumber as an ingredient) and absorbs much faster into my skin. I reallyyyyyyy love this product! Even though it went on greasy before, I never broke out with it so I continued to purchase. This will continue to be a staple in my skincare regimen. I also use several other PC products including: CLEAR 2% BHA, Moisture Boost hydrating treatment cream and CLEAR spot treatment BHA. My skin has gotten so much more manageable after I started with PC products. Can't recommend enough!
