Great Product

This is a very nice moisturizer that deserves far more credit that it gets. It spreads nicely, calms redness and dry skin, and works well even in the driest environments. I have tried every moisturizer Paula's makes, and keep coming back to this one. Please do not discontinue or change the formula!!! This is a wonderful product that does not cause breakouts!

It Did What I Didn't Believe Possible!

The Ceramides first attracted me, but I held off purchasing for months because of concerned re some perturbing reviews. Still, the plethora of excellent ingredients "called" to me, so I phoned PC for samples - there were none. More thought, then two things happened: PC added *additional* helpful information (under How to Use) and I was better able to understand it's reportedly more robust effects; and 2nd, it was offered on 23rd anniversary sale - so I ordered immediately, received over a week ago, but still didn't use it right away. Instead, respecting this as a stronger product and wanting this to work well for me, I called PC to ask what I might use underneath, to best cushion my skin, allowing it to accustom itself to the Ceramide moisturizer's more intense effect. On bare skin I used the Omega serum (Calm serum would do) with a bit of the oil booster mixed in - nothing with C or retinol, as suggested. I waited a half-hour, then applied the Ceramide Moisturizer with it's robust C and Retinol ingredients. And hoped. Still difficult to believe - and I'm a scoffer at "overnight" results - but next morning my angst-making beginnings of puppet-lines (from nostrils to mouth corners) were GONE; I had come to accept them, and not anticipated any such thing - only smoother plumped skin: but Gone They Were! - their absence startled me as it took a moment to realize why my face appeared *different* next morning - but it's wonderful! As advised, I've starting slow and skipped two days, but the puppet-lines still remain invisible - with no negative skin reaction whatsoever. Will ease into every-other-day tonight. What an unexpected gift! Going to stay with it for good, now. So, if you've read some less than stellar reviews, give it some thought and try again. I would DEFINITELY recommend to friends - especially my "mature ones.

Best moisturizer imaginable

I was reluctant to order this for the longest time, afraid it would be too occlusive, hard to spread, heavy, and make me break out. I have really sensitive, fairly dry, breakout prone skin. I am floored by this moisturizer. It is incredible. I've been having a redness flare-up lately due to over-experimentation with exfoliants, and have been dealing with break-outs and serious dryness/tightness at the same time. My usual Skin Recovery moisturizer wasn't enough, even with the Boost oil, so I gave this a shot out of desperation. Wow. It spreads like a dream, is not too thick or too thin, and is the first product that finally soothed my face—and did it overnight. I woke up looking so much better after my first use. My skin feels hydrated, soft, clear, redness is basically gone, and it no longer feels tight. It also does not feel greasy at all and it did not cause any breakouts. This is a really elegant, intelligently formulated moisturizer. I have no idea why it isn't selling like gangbusters. Maybe PC needs to market it differently. If you've been on the fence, I encourage anyone with sensitive, tight skin to try it, even you are breakout prone.

Thankful I found this product!

I use prescription strength Retin-A, which is good for wrinkles, but bad for dry skin. I've tried every face moisturizer, and nothing worked until I started using this product. My dry, flaky skin is completely gone!

Would not buy this product again!

2

Have been using Paula's Choice products now for over 20 years. I am now in my 60's and finding my skin extremely dry. I tried this moisturizer on the advice of Paula's Choice recommendations for extremely dry skin. This moisturizer was far from moisturizing....very thick and hard to spread on skin even when mixed with the oil booster! Will not purchase again. Also find this product very expensive!

Not a fan

2

I have used many Paula's Choice products for many years and was looking for something when my face felt really dry. This lotion feels quite heavy to me, which would be absolutely fine, except for the fact that it doesn't feel hydrating at all. I would much rather use a serum + one of her regular lotions than this. I don't recommend and won't buy again.

Great sleeping pack

5

I am a long time fan of PC products. Recently, I've been using a multilayered k-beauty type skin routine. I use this moisturizer as the very last step in my nightly routine, sometimes mixing it with a little cerave ointment to make it even more occlusive, like a moisture mask/sleeping pack. I love the feeling of this cream on my dry sensitive skin, and I love the smooth look of my skin after sleeping in it. I like that it has a ton of plant butters and oils as well as cerimides. It even works great on my hands. Wonderful product!

Not for me

3

I really wanted to like this product, but it's not very easy to apply to my skin. It's thick and it pulls on my skin as I try to spread it across my face. I feel like I have to use a lot of the product since it doesn't spread very well. It is moisturizing, though. I have used other thick creams that spread easier. I think because of the price, I'll just go back to Cetaphil cream and use Paula's Choice Super Antioxidant Serum underneath for the benefits.

Smells rancid

1

I got this as one of the samples with my most recent order. Being in the healthcare field, I need something to help with my dry hands from washing all the time and thought this might do the trick. I'm not sure how well this works as I had to wash this off immediately. The smell was absolutely horrendous! Smelled exactly of putrid old lotion that had been sitting in someone's drawer for 10 years. Glad I didn't purchase a full size of this!

MUST HAVE FOR DRY WINTER SKIN!

5

I use the Advanced Skin Recovery kit, but switched to this moisturizer + the Resist Moisture Oil Booster this Winter when the other moisturizer in my kit just wasn't cutting it. I don't think I will go back to the other one. I have used much more expensive products, and this one is the bomb!
