Love it!!

This moisturizer is light weight and absorbs easily! Leaves my skin feeling soft and silky and wears great under my sunscreen!!!

Excellent day or night moisturizer

I'll be brief. Texture is a gel/cream consistency. I have EXTREMELY breakout-prone and sensitive/reactive skin. This has not done anything bad to my skin. It moisturizes effectively but I wouldn't seem this a moisturizer for severely dehydrated skin. It's great for normal dry skin but if you have like dry flaking skin you might want to combine with a serum or booster. Overall I love it. I might add a serum or booster for over the winter but it's a great cream. Has a funky smell but it doesnt linger. It has no fragrance in it so if you want those nice smelling perfume scents you wont get it from this.

Excellent moisturizer

Great for my sensitive skin, and moisturizer effectively. Noticed a positive difference in the overall look of my skin. Will be repurchasing for sure.

Lightweight, Absorbs Quickly, No Breakouts, Evens Tone

My new favorite nightly moisterizer. Lightweight, slightly creamy lotion texture, mild (pleasant) smell. Absorbs fairly quickly on my skin (for me, many moisturizers either don't absorb and/or leave skin sticky). Perfect level of moisture for me. I used to use PC skin balancing gel at night, now I use defense. Next morning, my skin texture seems a bit more even, with no redness or acne. Many moisterizers cause me to breakout, but this one has not. My skin is oily, somewhat sensitive, and prone to breakouts (especially from moisturizers). My night routine: PC skin balancing cleanser, PC niamacide booster, PC skin balancing antiox serum with retinol, PC Defense moisturizer (this product). This particular combination is AMAZING; collectively it gets rid of my acne (surprisingly, more effectively than a salisilic acid and benzoyl peroxide treatment), redness is completely gone in morning, and skin tone is even. I saw these effects BEFORE I switched to this moisturizer, so it has more to do with the niamacide and retinol. But, I do think effects were enhanced a little with this moisturizer.

Brightening light moisturizer

This is my new forever moisturizer. I've been using it about two weeks now. When you apply it, it's immediately brightening. It has a gel-cream feel and dries to an almost non-existent finish. I have normal-oily skin and I live in the deep South, but this is perfect on its own for summer. When I want extra moisture I add a drop or two of oil to it, and it works beautifully. I have noticed an improvement in the brightness, glow, and clearness of my skin with use. Best moisturizer you can buy in this price range, IMO.

So far, I am pleasantly surprised by this moisturizer. I have oily, acne-prone skin, and so adding anything new into my skin care regimen - especially a moisturizer - makes me super nervous. But darn it if Paula hasn't done it again with this product! I have been using it at night as my last step, and when I wake up my face is nicely dewy and has a glow to it. My skin tone looks more even, and best of all, no breakouts! I am now looking at the antioxidant pore purifier.

Solid new moisturizer and packaging

I have to say I was intrigued by the concept of this line and purchased the moisturizer after some internal debate about which product I should try first. I'm pleased to say I think this is a hit. The ingredient list, per usual, is stacked with things that have research backing them up which I always appreciate. The texture is interesting. When it first came out of the bottle, I thought it looked like perhaps a lighter version of some of the lotions Cerave puts out, but I find upon application that it is very light. It's hard to describe, actually. It's like some kind of gel-lotion hybrid, with the light feeling of a gel but the moisturizing properties of a lotion. I'd say this is good for normal skin, combination, normal to oily and normal to dry. It would be too heavy for oily skins and not moisturizing enough for dry skins. Of course, this is a moisturizer so you won't be getting the results you would with an active like retinol or vitamin c, but I think this is a solid product for anybody looking to dive into PC, or perhaps are already a customer but don't purchase moisturizers from them (that would be me). I'll be really interested to see the reviews for both the cleanser (please tell me it takes off zinc-oxide sunscreens!) and the SPF. One note: this does have a little bit of an initial odor that some users might find unpleasant, but I found that it wasn't very strong and did not stick around. A note about the packaging: I'm too much of a student of Paula to care too much about rose gold lids or millennial pink, and the most important thing is that the ingredients are stable. However, I was one of the customers who told PC that I thought the packaging was looking a little dated and it was time for a refresh. I think they've hit it out of the park. The packaging is still informative, but it looks "cleaner" from a design perspective. Great job!

Not for me...

I was pleased to see that PC had come out with a silicone-free moisturizer, as my skin just doesn't tolerate silicones. I have combination, acne prone, sensitive skin and have not been able to use any of PC's moisturizers (my skin is very happy with the Hydralight toner and Moisture Boost Cleanser though). Sadly, my skin doesn't tolerate this moisturizer either. On the plus side, this product absorbs well, doesn't smell weird (there is a neutral order that disappears quickly), and didn't make me break out. However, after using this moisturizer for three week, my skin gradually became more sensitive and painful. Thankfully, PC has a good return policy. I'll just need to continue using a moisturizer from another company.

I have been a Paula's Choice fan for years and am always telling people to try it out cuz it works. This product fell short for me. It never really soaked in and it felt like I had a sticky film on my face and peeled and pilled when I touched it.

I had a glimmering hope after reading another review that described the texture as a "gel-lotion hybrid". While the texture is light, the formula irritated my skin (slight burning sensation), and the smell was unpleasant. Will be returning.
