Additional Information

Why is it different?
This rich, creamy liquid is 100% fragrance-and-alcohol-free. It immediately soothes and rehydrates even the most sensitive skin while gently eliminating any trace makeup left after cleansing, leaving your complexion soft and refined.
Collapse
What does it do?
Green tea and grape leaf extract (powerful antioxidants) lessen the appearance of damage caused by environmental factors like pollution, which can lead to sagging, wrinkles, and dull skin tone. Skin-restoring sodium PCA and fatty acids help replenish then protect the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
Collapse
How to use
Apply once or twice daily after cleansing and/or toning. Lightly soak a cotton pad and apply over the entire face, including the eye area (avoid lash line and eyelids). Do not rinse. For daytime, follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater in the final step of your routine.

Not my favorite and smells like lots of chemicals

2

I must have accidentally bought the moisture boost toner instead of the pink one (calming) I usually buy. They both are advertised for dry /very dry skin. However, the Moisture Boost toner is clear and smells like there are tons of chemicals in it. My other toner was a milky white and didn't smell bad at all. I'm not even sure if they put the right product in this toner bottle. The good news is that it hasn't made me break out or anything like that, but i get a bad feeling every time I use it on my face and it just doesn't seem like anything that smells so chemically would be good to put on your face. Not a fan and I will not purchase again.

Decent Toner

4

I like the idea of using a toner to pick up whatever the cleanser didn't get, and even though this toner is certainly the most hydrating toner I've ever used, I still find it just a bit drying on my skin. Its probably just my skin though. I will continue to purchase this toner for the purpose intended though since I always follow up with a moisturizer. Once again, this product is completely Fragrance Free and I sincerely love that aspect of it!

My New Favorite Toner!

5

I have combination skin that's more oily than dry, but I still use this toner on my entire face. It's very soothing and calming. Also, unlike some other PC toners I've tried, this doesn't have a greasy feel at all. It's just the right amount of hydration for my skin.

Glad it's being discontinued...

Paula's Choice is so much better than this product. It makes me sad to give such a favorite brand of mine a negative review but this toner irritated my skin so bad it left an open sore! What happen was I got out of the shower and saw I still had make up around my eyes, so I applied a small amount of this toner to a tissue and gently tried to wipe the make up off and was surprised that it burned so bad. The next morning I had a scab on the inner part of my eye where the product stung the most. It also has a strange habit of forming random jelly-like clumps of itself that come out of the bottle and sit around the opening even if you shake it well during every use. Oh well. I will continue to shop from PC because everything else I use from them is splendid, but definitely will avoid the moisture boost products.

Didn't work

1

I am glad that I tried a sample before I purchase the whole bottle. I have tried the moisture boost cleanser and night cream. These are great for my combination to dry skin. However, this toner gives me a burning sensation that I cannot tolerate. If you have sensitive and combination skin like mine, skin recovery toner is much better choice.

HG for me.

I wonder if the reviewer who thought this was greasy wasn't referring to the lotion? This isn't greasy at all. I've been using the toner on normal skin for over five years. It does tingle a bit, but I feel that my skin looks better after using the product. It wouldn't be suitable for someone with very dry sensitive skin (Advanced Replenishing toner would be better for that). I have normal skin with blackheads and wrinkles and I use this after getting out of the shower instead of moisturizer.

Didn't Work For Me

2

I purchased this full size to try because it was on sale. As I am getting older, my skin is becoming more dry around the cheek areas. I also suffer from adult acne/blackheads and hormonal cystic acne. I tried this as an all-over toner and it went on smoothly, but, it left my skin greasy and really never sunk in. I understand that with combination skin, you might need to use multiple and different products for different areas. I wasn't about to do that since I am still in the "discovery" mode of seeing which PC products work for me. I returned this product and after sampling the Skin Balancing Toner, I did an even exchange. I also liked the Skin Renew Toner but it lacked some important ingredients (Niacinamide mostly). This is a good product if you have VERY dry skin. It just did not work for me.

Refreshing

5

This toner definitely evens out my skin, relaxes it, and prepares it well for the moisturizer but you have to put a generous amount on your face. Currently, I use the cleanser, toner, and moisturizer without the Skin Perfecting BHA 1% and it is a simple combination for my skin that gets easily irritated and dry.

So So

3

I have been using Skin Recovery toner for years and love it. I also use Moisture Boost cleanser & treatment cream. In spite of the less than rave reviews I thought I'd give this toner a try, since it was on sale. Well, yes it does cause a warm, flushing feeling upon application & a slight stinging for several minutes and a little redness. It's not horrible and when skin calms down it looks smooth and radiant. I think my skin looks better after it has calmed down, more so than after using SR toner... but you will have decide if the slight uncomfortable side effects are worth the results. Wondering if the irritation causes any damage in the long run if I continue to use it?? All other products I've used in the PC line have been great.

If it didn't make me break out...

1

It took me a while to triangulate the cause (I tried a few new products at once and had to stop and try them each individually), but unfortunately this product causes breakouts for me. That's too bad, because I generally like the product. It is moisturizing and it makes my skin feel nice. In the future I'll try the skin recovery toner instead.
