I don't mean to sound hyperbolic, but this stuff changed my skin -- and fast. I'm 43 years old, and I've had melasma for at least 15 years, but it got much worse during my pregnancy. That was 7 years ago. Since then I've had a fraxel laser treatment which worked very well but was VERY expensive ($1,000), and without ongoing treatment my melasma returned in full. I've used the Obaji NuDerm prescription-based hydroquinone cream, and that worked wonders too, but it's $350 every few months for the full system. That's just too much of a financial commitment for me now that I have a child and a mortgage. It had been a few years since I finished the last of my Obaji creams, and my melasma was looking terrible, and even with makeup I was self conscious. I decided to try an over the counter hydroquinone product. I had doubts. I know Paula's Choice is very well regarded for its high quality ingredients, and the price was excellent for a tube of the RESIST cream, so I purchased it. Once my skin got used to it (light use for about a week) I began to use it aggressively. I really slathered it on, twice per day, and topped it off with lots of really good quality sunscreen during the day. I went through a tube in about 6 weeks of heavy daily use, and my skin looks fantastic. Seriously. My spots overall have faded dramatically. My skin is smooth, clear and bright. The darkest spots -- about 3 of them -- will need more time to really fade, but I truly couldn't be happier with my results. And a bonus: the milia under my eyes (there were tons of them) are nearly gone thanks to the AHAs. I can't believe I waited so long to try this stuff. I've started my second tube, which I'm using less aggressively now, but still twice daily. I'm staying on top of my sunscreen, and I expect even clearer skin in a few months. I could not be more pleased.
