Additional Information

Why is it different?
SKIN RECOVERY Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 goes above and beyond what other daytime moisturizers provide. This creamy formula replenishes dry skin for a younger-looking appearance while helping to protect from sun damage and early skin aging. It has an abundant mix of potent antioxidants, skin-restoring ceramides, and anti-aging peptides to visibly smooth fine lines and wrinkles while adding a satin glow for skin that looks younger. Works beautifully under makeup.
Collapse
What does it do?
Helps defend against signs of environmental assault and essential for restoring and improving a youthful-looking radiance. The pure mineral zinc oxide sunscreen is a significant benefit as it decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun if used as directed with other sun protection measures. Formulated to be gentle enough for sensitive skin, including skin prone to eczema.

How to use
Use as the last step in your AM skincare routine. Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. If you don’t apply liberally, you will need to reapply every two hours after your skin is exposed to direct sunlight. If you plan to swim or perspire you must apply a water-resistant sunscreen.

No Substitute for Resist Cellular Defense SPF 25

1

Finally got around to trying this since the Resist Cellular Defense SPF 25 was discontinued; it's no match, unfortunately: it doesn't leave skin beautifully moisturised and illuminated, just kind of "wet" looking and for my dry-very dry skin just absorbs too much (mind you I was using a moisturiser and oil booster). For a mineral sunscreen, it leaves no white cast on me, spreads easily, smells faintly of plants/nuts, and doesn't actively dry skin out; but that's were the positives stop, because it doesn't provide enough moisture, does not make skin look plumb and hydrated, but rather tacky, and so is no replacement for the Resist Cellular Defense SPF 25 as suggested by customer service. And the search for a cosmetically-elegant-moisturizing-illuminating-physical sunscreen continues, I guess outside of what Paula's Choice offers.

Lightweight, Non Greasy, Absorbs Well, No odor

This product feels very soft, light and creamy and blends in easily with no sensitivity issues. I use this before my foundation/primer and my makeup does not slide off. It is hard to find a sunscreen with no odor that is not sticky or tacky - but - the tube does seems a little small for the price.

Surprised how good it is!

I have tried so many spf's and this one is the best! You can put it under and around the eyes, it rubs in well, absorbs quickly, moisturizes skin. This is truly the BEST sunscreen moisturizer I have ever used. I highly recommend this product

Very drying

3

I live in a desert and have very dry (but beautifully clear) skin since using 2% BHA liquid every day and night so I've acquired an Arsenal to keep my skin happy and hydrated. The only thing I needed in the day was an SPF for the very strong sun and this completely dried my skin and made my other products useless. Its fine the first ten minutes but as it continues to absorb it sucks the life out of my skin. Im not sure what's more aging- the lack of moisture with sun protection or the moisture without sun protection. My skin hurts after an hour and gets worse from there. So parched. How is this for dry/very dry skin? Counteracts my oils/serums/moisturizers I have underneath. Can't do it- but I love Paula's products! This is just a bump in the road.

Does not compare!

1

I've been using Paula's Choice for about 15 years. I like most of her products and recommend to friend to give PC a try. This moisturizer with sunscreen does not compare to Cellular Defense SPF 25. Nothing does. Not sure what Paula's Choice did to offend the supplier of the proprietary ingredients for the Cellular Defense...but they need to make amends and start making the Cellular Defense again. This product is NOT a good replacement as recommended by PC.

GREAT PRODUCT

4

I've been using Paula's products for about 10 years now. Every once in awhile I decide to try a different brand product, but always end up coming back to Paula! Speaks for itself! I just received this product today and immediately applied it to my face and neck. I love that it has an SPF of 30 because most sunscreens burn when I apply. The only issue I have is the smell! It's not a terrible smell, just an unpleasant one! Not bad enough for me to stop using though!!

Great for redness

4

I actually loved this, and would highly recommend it for sensitive skin that is prone to redness. I found this to be soothing and helped to even out my skin tone. I removed one star because this wasn't tenacious enough for the very hot & humid climate I reside in but others who are not in an equatorial region might be fine.

No Substitute for Cellular Defense

2

I purchased this product because Cellular Defense SPF 25 was no longer being made, and this was recommended as a substitute. I don't like it. I feel like I'm just wearing straight sunscreen: the lotion is tacky to the touch, I don't feel moisturized, and my foundation does not go on as smoothly as before. I look forward to trying whatever day cream is developed to replace Cellular Defense.

Perfect for me

5

I love this product. It is a bit greasy at first so I let it sit for a couple minutes before applying makeup, but after that my skin feels wonderful all day! If I need to reapply, it goes over my makeup really well too which was a great surprise. I have sensitive skin, especially around my eyes and it causes no irritation.
