Perfect for elder care

I have been using this item since it was introduced, and have been very pleased with it ever since. It's great for back applications as well as other areas that become difficult to get to when my back injury acts up. HOWEVER, I found that it's terrific for my 85 year old Mom as it allows her to take care of her own skin-which I normally would have to do as she is starting to have some mobility issues-the result of which makes her feel more in control and much less concerned about the effects of getting older and losing her independence. And that makes this little device a treasure!

I miss the Self Tanning foam!!!!

I have this item, its okay but I am really sad the self tanning foam is gone. I ALWAYS got complements on how natural the tan looked and it was never streaky and didn't smell obnoxious like other brands do. I use to stock up on the self tanner so I never ran out and I cant now :(.... But thats life oh well still love you guys!!!

Great applicator

I bought this for the purpose of applying sunless tanner on my back/shoulders areas. I use gloves to apply sunless tanner but found that applying the sunless tanner on my hands to be difficult until I used this applicator. I have better control than other ways I've tried. I still use the gloves for my legs, but have also used the applicator on my face, neck, chest and arms with success. Give it a try!

Good idea but not quite there

I like the idea of this product. I've been using it for a little while now and it works well. But today I just went to remove the original pad so I could apply a new one, and it did not come off easily. I ended up having to scrape off little pieces of the foam, and now I'm down to the sticky residue. Soaking it hasn't helped get the residue off, so it looks like I'll have to remove it with Goo Gone. The product works fine, but it shouldn't be this hard to remove the used pads.

Love it!

I use this to apply exfoliant and lotion to my poor neglected back. It's reducing spots from too many sunburns.

Make sure to stick the pad to the right end

The first time I used this, I didn't like it. If I pushed too hard, the handle would bend backwards, and I'd have to snap it back. It did a better job that my hands, so I continued to use it for a two months, washing the pad every other use will fragrance-free soap. After those couple of months, I decided it was time to change the pad. I soaked the pad in water, and tried to peel the pad off like the instructions said; but it would not come off! I panicked and ripped off as much as I could. It was rendered useless to me because there were bits of sticky padding that seemed impossible to get off. I then shoved the applicator in the back of my closet, and forgot about it. About a week ago, I began spring cleaning and decluttering my toiletries and beauty products. I came upon a pack of replacement pads for the applicator. I didn't want to throw them away, so I attempted to clean off the remaining pad still on the applicator. I soaked that thing in pure acetone for about an hour. I wore cleaning gloves, and peeled off the sticky glue with kitchen scraper. It was FINALLY off! Then I realized that I had placed the pad on the wrong end of the applicator this whole time! Make sure to place the pad at the end where the Paula's Choice label is. The applicator contours to my back significantly better. Here's hoping this pad will come off much easier.

I've had a cheapie version of this gadget years ago. I thought PC would surely be several steps up in functionality, but not really. I guess it works if you are not very impaired in your "reach", but isn't that the whole point? I know someone could engineer one of these so much better. Surely! My input: - have 2-3 notches to vary the angle of the applicator - use a very soft short bristle brush to get product into skin - a longer handle to further facilitate those of us with bad shoulders I would gladly pay more for one of these that really worked.

Not innovative

I've had the cheapie version of these years ago and I thought the PC option would surely be an improvement. But really, it's not much better. Someone could most certainly "invent" one of these that would help those of us with limited range of motion. My suggestions: Several notches to allow for different angles Telescoping function to extend the length A very soft washable brush applicator to allow a better rub-in of creams or lotions Many of us would pay a little more for one of these gadgets that would actually work!

Great tattoo care

I bought this applicator in anticipation of my getting a tattoo on my back, between my shoulder blades. I am an Esthetician who does micro pigmentation, so I understand how important aftercare is for maintaining the look of your new ink. This works fantastic. It is soft so it doesn't irritate, and holds just the right amount of liquid and is not drippy. It also feels great at the point the tattoo begins to itch while healing - cleansing gently of course!I use all Paulas Choice products.
